Hello! So I have been working for a while, learning how ItemBound works, and I have managed to figure out exactly how to well, do it.

Introduction:

Essentially, ItemBound- and my own version inspired by their discovery 'MassiveBound'- is a resource pack that when on, allows you to rename an item ingame to apply a new texture! For examples, look in the Spoiler below! The only stipulations are that you must have Optifine, and you must have Custom Items enabled- which it is by default.

Now, essentially what this thread is for is, me, asking you, what items you think should be added! My only stipulation is that you should keep in mind that ARMOR. IS. HELL. Each set of armor takes 6 textures and 8 property files, and I hate my life every time I look at armor now. Beyond that though, if its a simple one-piece like a hat, or boots, or jacket, that should be fine. Its also worth noting that Blocks and Mobs are not compatible with this method, nor are 3d models to my understanding at least- and custom shield textures are pretty much hell as well, so refrain from spamming a ton of shield types please. So limit it to things you might see yourself use in Roleplay. Props, weapons, tools, ETC.

Once I have everything that I could possibly want or imagine finished and in the pack, I will be releasing it! Why wait? Because otherwise players would have to come back to this thread every week to download the new version that added a total of five to ten items, which would be annoying for them. Easier for all involved if I keep updates to MAJOR releases of tons of items.

I will also probably make a seperate thread for the release of this, if you want added to the Tag List on that post, just say so in your suggestion below!

I am pleased with the current lineup, though if I may make a few tweaks/suggestions:
  • the blacksteel seems a bit too purple for my liking. I know blacksteel has that glossy hue to it, but I think a few shades darker would benefit.
  • the guard baton might be better in black, just since purple looks odd for a baton.
  • I'd like to see a few war axes and hammers added just to cover all the generic weapons.
  • I think you've already experienced this first hand, but alternative shield shapes.
  • I don't have the pack, so I have no idea what the scale is for each item texture. But I think in the json files for each texture you can set a specific scale. I did it for the banner so that siegwald school looks better in RP (because as it stands it's a mini banner in the hand)
I think that's all I have for now. Looks good so far and this would be a welcomed addition.
 
The only major suggestion for what you already have is to darken up the blacksteel, and make it, well, black. It looks more like it's starris rather than blacksteel. As for materials and weapons, add the varying nelfinites, bluesteel, and assorted weapons beyond those that would be used by Regalia.

Otherwise, it's coming along well!
 
Happy to see someone decided to go with this! I have a great idea! Change all diamond swords and axes renamed to Master Sword/Axe and make them look like a slab of bacon. Just as an insult to all the gift4all crap we have going.
 
This has been considered since before the announcement of the MassiveMagic crafting system.

I already made a unique set of custom wand textures which you can actually spy one hidden in the screenshots for the super old crafting system announcement. Even made a few weapons. One of them a greatsword that actually is visually twice the size of a normal weapon. It is about the length of a player model.

So there very well may be an official item pack for Massive. Cant guarentee it. Just be wary.
 
These are cute! My only complaint is blacksteel. As the original writer, I imagine it kinda like this:

Mind I don't use massive's pack, I use a mash of several.
A black colored steel, definitely more grey for highlights over the purple hue you went for.

Yea, Im working on a few edits. Its annoyingly hard to shade black metal to look good im finding, lol. Got a few tweaks in the works though

It was based on the Violet Baton lore page, though I'm toning down the purple and darkening the wood itself a bit, since it looks like an eggplant a bit e-e

You could also make the master gear look like the Christmas gift sword from Terraria. I can pm a picture later or just google it yourself.

I realized since every Master set has a different name, because it has the player who donated's username in it, I cant do custom textures for it.
 
I have personally tested this. All the master gear changes to the master sword regardless of the name, no idea why. You can test this yourself if you desire
Could you start a forums convo and send me the code you used? Just so I can be 100% sure, like if its the exact same. If it does work Ill 100% make it like Green XD

I have managed to figure out how to up the scale of items, and as such, have made Great Swords and Polearms x2 sized. To compensate for the derpy look, I also changed the resolution of those textures to 64x64, so that they look the same resolution, just bigger. A nice trick I guess.

Any further suggestions? If no, I will be publishing the pack as V1 in 1-3 days!

EDIT: Correction, I recently learned how to detect colored names with the ItemBound method, and as such, I am going through and adding roughly 50 of the most common lore items into the pack, including weapons and other props, screenshots taken from the Market obv to get as big a sample as possible!

This might be upwards of a week now, sorry! It will be worth it though!

Progress Update: Iv added about 20 of the 70-ish Lore Items I have planned for V1. Heres a few screenshots of some weapons!

Beyond this, I am also adding custom book covers for around 8 Lore Books, Including the Sun Worship book, the Faith of Estel book, and the Shunners Tale book!
 
I have a suggestion for one Item which is the Yanar wings. First of all they are amazing but idk if it's just me but i find them a bit to chunky looking. By chunky i mean blocky i guess? Again idk how to explain it xD but yea, i suppose i just wanted to put that out there that maybe you should slim down the edges a bit? Or just make it one layer such as the normal elytra wings in massive.. Besides that i love the texture you used for it and how you made it possible that the texture even works when you put it on. But then again i am not expert and idk how hard this is so, go ahead and do this if you wish or just don't if it is to Hard after all I'm not making it xD
 
I have two suggestions for weapons and some personal made textures to go with them! I have two Cavalry Sabers, the First meant to be a Calemberg Cavalry Saber, the other simply a classic "Basket Hilt" saber.

I'd suggest some of the racial weapons on the wiki. Another I'm not too sure on how you could make it, but a pair of knuckle dusters. Maybe if you were able to texture a leather chestplate to have only the gloves for gauntlets or brass knuckles or stuff like that, it would be easier? Not too sure.

Isn't there a way to change the potions items are, in the JSON files? Like making something sideways, etc? If so, that could be used for things like this @Conflee.
 
Once Word: Clothing. Also, the Knight Helmet seems off to me, as in the texture, not the fact that it is not on my head... (ik, ik more than one word.)
 
Crysteel variants of all weapons, except hammers, or other blunt weapons. Also do MULTIPLE COLORS (PLEASE DO WHITE TOOO)
 
Would you be willing to make some more variants for the warhammers? Like a Bronze, Bluesteel, and Blacksteel one?
 
I know I said this on the other thread, but I might as well put it here too. Scythes. Fruit. Custom (Purchased or otherwise) Faction Armor and Weapons. Keep up the good work :>
 
Hey, is it possible to volunteer as a texure developer on this project? One of the BEST fanmade ideas I've seen, and I'd love to help contribute.
 
I'd like to see some more shields in the next one, maybe a tower shield?
