Introduction:

Hello everyone! Welcome to the first release of MassiveBound! What is MassiveBound? Essentially, it is a resource pack that uses MetaData to change the texture of an item based entirely on its name. So anyone with the pack can make the items with an anvil and some Exp.

How To Use:

In order to use this pack, you need to have two things-

1 - The Resource Pack, installed and on top of the active packs list.
2- Optifine installed, with Custom Items on.

Place the vanilla item in an anvil. Rename it to exactly what I have listed- some items do not require exact caps but some do. Congratulation you have a custom item!

Notes:

Just because you have this item names does not mean your character has these items in lore. This pack is entirely aesthetic, meant to provide more textures for you to toy around with to make things more immersive. Don't act like your edgy sewers pickpocket owns a Blacksteel Greatsword just because. I dont think one would even exist in lore due to cost- only high nobles even have blacksteel longswords.

Bottom line dont be a noob. :3

Wow this looks amazing! Does the item look the same in yout hand as well once you named it? Or is it just the item frames?

I got optifine, now how do I turn on custom items? I just copy-pasted your pack into my .minecraft. I'm assuming I'll have to edit a notepad.
You put it in your resourcepacks, then from the selection menu in game, you put it on the top.

What Suzzie said basically. Custom Items is an Optifine setting that is on by default, I only included that instruction because some people turn that stuff off without thinking because they assume it increases FPS. It should be under "Video Options > Quality " In the in-game menus.
 
Add Starris items and some more food items and it would be amazingly better, maybe even some void items or even some flowers
Iv considered it but Starris is rare enough that I dont think anyone would really use the texture. As for foods, I have that planned for the v2.0 update! Im wanting to add some of the lore foods that the merchants sell, and some general stuff.
 
One thing I've noticed is that some textures don't change when using the premium /name command. The normal lore items are able to change with the command, but the made up weapons do not.

idk if it would be possible for the other weapons to be able to change using the Premium naming convention, but it would be appreciated.

Its because its a colored name. The actual lore items are set just to detect colored, hence them being caps-sensative and working with /name . The rest are set to be insensitive, hence the command not changing them.

I can look into a fix potentially for V2.0 - probably just copy-paste all the properties files and changing the names to be c_(name), IE c_steel_sword, specifically just making a new code to allow them basically. IDK. Complex explanation sorry XD Short answer: Ill try to in 2.0 XD
 
EDIT: I do want to say that the cross guard is facing the wrong way though. I can't deflect a sword with it, it would slide off the crossguard and have the weapon hit my arm. Not really necessary because it's closed ranged, and I would not be deflecting swords efficiently at that distance anyways, which is why it's ignored in daggers, like crossguard-less ones. It can still probably block other daggers. If you did turn it around a player would be able to block a "Chokehold" kind of attack from the bar of an axe or something. Since this knife is meant to slit throats it might be best without a handle entirely.
I love it, you made a curved dagger! My character doesn't know how to use a dagger anyways so it works just as fine. It looks SO GOOD, so much better than an iron sword.
I considered it, but I imagined the weapon to be more like a dirk. You would probably rather gtfo than try to parry with it.

OI could we maybe make some of the colored leather armor maybe something different?
It has TONS of different texures so we wouldnt be taking something thats used a lot

MassiveBound v2 is now in development! Conquest released an update that added their own custom items, and in light of this im going to be working off of that from now on! Most of the custom lore stuff will stay, or be edited depending on what we need, but there will also be around 10 sets of armor in the next update! Feel free to toss some ideas here, ill probably make a new thread for 2.0 release since its so big and its been so long!
 
Looking at it, as a rough guess, we probably have about 12 sets of armor and 90 items at this point, havent counted et but its a ton. Most of the textures are done, working on some minor fixes atm and i should be able to make it public in a day or two.

Could ya make 3d models of some hats and maybe some dresses and hair. I know that sounds weird coming from a guy, but if you add clothing with 3d models it would be really useful to have some shape for the player's lower body other than the two legs, if you know what I mean.
 
Loving the pack so far, but i was wondering, since i saw other people asking about specific weapons, will there be any weapons for "Thin Blade Proficiency"? like Rapier, Flamberge, etc.
