As I'm sure many of you have noticed there are very very very few animals in the wild. When the world was created there were animals around, but now those have been gathered up and moved indoors. I had hoped that staff's efforts to cull overpopulated herds recently would cause natural spawns again. I have spent hours of the day for nearly a week AFKing in the wilderness trying to get animals to spawn naturally to no avail. That's an unreasonable amount of effort to have to go through to earn something that should be common. The downstream effect of this extreme shortage is that new players are unable to get a start on the server because there are no animals available to them. They have to rely on plant food and buy basic products that are the building blocks of so many recipes. By having next to zero animal spawns we're forcing new players to rely on the activity of the economy instead of the abundance of the world. This needs to change.
