Lyre magic is made to be, at least what it seems to be, a support-heavy magic. Their happiness isn't only boosted, but so is their confidence and pain resistance. This is actually extremely helpful among hunting groups, especially to help cancel out the dread and weakness caused by Zehler shrieks and Tresmisae roars that could break down a militia in moments of sounding off. The simple shriek might not seem bad, but considering that everyone suffers it at the exact same time means that there's already a huge threat of ranks breaking apart. It's already powerful enough to knock anyone out who dares to listen, which is an ability that no other magic can boast about. Properly covering your ears need a lot of pressure applied to fully cancel sound, which means your hands are unusable, your focus is on cancelling sound instead of fighting, and you are deaf to your environment. Those are huge weaknesses being made just to avoid falling asleep, if one doesn't harm the opposing mage in time. Mind magics also work brilliantly together, which could make you the best support / charisma character that's physically (or magically) possible. If you want a modification to a magic so one can get different emotional results, you probably don't need a lore change, but rather a character change or more involved effort.
