Hiku Bloodline
Insanity created this bloodline. A crazy old man in the sewers had found a large cavern in which he did his experiments. He had captured several creatures of which he did he tested on. The old man had a friend who was a blood mage who he enlisted the help of. He had captured a maiar and a giant spider and encaged them. He cut the spider and had the blood mage touch the blood. He then grinded some sea serpent scales into a solution of the blood and inserted the blood into the maiar. The maiar went through several weeks of incredible pain and mutations. He then broke free of his cage killing both the old man and the mage. The maiar jumped into the water and swam as far as he could with a thirst for blood and ink.
Now, the hiku bloodline slowly spreads throughout regalia and throughout all of aloria as the infected swim throughout the world.
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
3 weeks are required to fully become a hiku bloodline. The infected will go through incredible pain for these three weeks and have a horrific dream. For the first several hours of infection, the maiar doesn't feel anything. After about 6 hours, the maiar will be knocked unconscious no matter what. This unconsciousness lasts for a horrific 3 weeks of terrifying nightmares and increasing pain all throughout the body. The first thing seen change in this sleep is that the eyes turn pure white and both pupils are fully erased. This will also cause the maiar to be incredibly nearsighted. The next change seen is how the maiar's teeth grow incredibly large and sharp. After this, barnacles appear to grow in patches about the maiar's body. These changes take about a week while it is the next 2 weeks that are even more painful than the last. During this period, the maiar will grow 3 tentacles about it's upper back. Two are almost always on one side of the back congruent to the other while the third tentacle varies on where it grows. Though, the third tentacle is always on the upper part of the back. These tentacles have no bones within them and have suction like patches upon the undersides of the tentacles. These tentacles are very movable and are mostly muscle and cartilage. The tentacles can be used for short-distance climbing. After all of these changes have occurred, over a spread of approximately 3 weeks, the maiar will wake withl horrible hunger.
Mental Characteristics:
A maiar infected with the Hiku bloodline awakes from their transformation very hungry. They will go about drinking blood by biting upon the necks of others. A infected maiar will have horrible lust for blood all of the time and is always hungry for blood. Often, a maiar infected will become so hungry, that it will often drink any sort of ink it can find. Another need for a Hiku infected maiar is that the maiar will have a constant need to have money and a constant search for more money. When the vampirism is fully infected, the maiar has lost all forms of magic though, it can learn mage level sight magic within one day of meditation. Infected maiar that have the slightest bit of intelligence have a 70% chance of going mad within a few weeks of infection. Maiar of instinctual intelligence will remain instinctual.
Culture:
Most infected maiar have no contact with other maiar and most uninfected maiar try to stay away from infected maiar to avoid infection. Some infected who gain sanity can peacefully pepper into society though it is often hard with a thirst for blood and discrimination is larger against them than regular maiar. Some infected maiar swim throughout the seas and spread the infection to many different lands and the infection has been known to reach to the edges of hyarroc and beyond.
Curing:
Curing the infection is near impossible. A liquid gold must be consumed while the maiar is under the presents of a group of antimages all casting upon the infected. If the maiar survives the process, the maiar will go into another transe of happy dreams and reverse the changes undergone entirely. This will also take 3 weeks and when the maiar awakes, it will have no memory of the infection whatsoever.

- The barnacles that the maiar grows can be cooked into a delicious soup.
