Let me ask you a question. Would you rather live your life sad or happy. And trust me- you aren't going to be fine, this is a terribly thought out plan and you will get hurt.

This as well, if you don't clean and cook it right you will be sick as a dog in a week.
Luckily I do. xDOh and um @Gazonni I hope you know how to clean and then cook an animal properly :/
@GazonniOkay, that makes me feel a little better. Still though, I don't think this is a good idea.
Let me ask you a question. Would you rather live your life sad or happy.
Winter is definitely a problem. It's the main reason I'm not launching myself into it right away. This is. I really agree with @AtticCat.
Game alone isn't sustaining, especially with some of the leaner animals. That's assuming you even manage to catch one.
That's assuming you find them.
What about winter? When animals hibernate, plants die, and the weather is far from comfortable.
Stop right there. This is not a good plan at /all/. It's so much harder to take game down with a bow. Please take a step back and don't put yourself at risk because of some impulse. No offense intended, but you come off as grasping at straws and utterly, illy prepared. You're young, and likely inexperienced. Please don't put yourself in what could very well become a death sentence.
Let me ask you a question. Would you rather live your life sad or happy.
There are far more things in life you may do to make you happy that don't involve risking your life.@Gazonni
As someone who has thoroughly read and analyzed into the wild you're going to need to do more prepping, this isn't some decision you can just leap to. Would you be fine without showering? Without proper healthcare? What if you get sick? Do you know the exact amount of time you have until you die from dehydration? Not saying that you will die, but it's important to know before you start trekking off into the wilderness without second thought.
Your source of inspiration as @Suzzie said is speculated to be crazy and criticized to have started a movement of young men that go off into the woods and lead to their untimely death, if you read the story Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer you would know that the majority of those men did die.
By not wanting to 'live for making money' that's fine! Frankly, I'd like to be a social worker, meaning I'd be with mistreated and underprivileged kids which can make the amount of a Walmart employee depending on where I live. You can do something you're passionate for and not make money. You can work for nonprofits, protest, get into social work (may need a college degree for this I'm pretty sure), find a cause you care deeply for. Life may not be all about working for money for you, but there are other options than walking out into the woods.

I rather live happy; something this won't achieve. You are literally following the example of a man that died doing this. And like what @Miss_Confined said, this is basically the worst possibly choice you could make in this time where you could be anything.Let me ask you a question. Would you rather live your life sad or happy.
And "not launching myself into it 'right away" is a bit laughable since you said you were leaving tomorrow and Summer is almost over.Winter is definitely a problem. It's the main reason I'm not launching myself into it right away.
I don't blame you, but in my case I don't feel the same. Life itself is essentially a giant risk. How do you know you lived your life to the fullest if you never take anyI would rather live my life happily, but in the safest way possible.
You're going to die if you go out and do this, a risk you shouldn't want to make. You could achieve so much more then just being that person that vanished into the forest.I don't blame you, but in my case I don't feel the same. Life itself is essentially a giant risk. Tomorrow I will start traveling. Which is why I put it that way.I rather live happy; something this won't achieve. You are literally following the example of a man that died doing this. You should really not be doing this, you're going to regret it, Gaz.Tomorrow I will start traveling. Which is why I put it that way.
I understand your point. I want to make it clear that I'm not intending to spend the rest of my life in the woods. I have a plan. Its not about how long you spend in the woods, its about how long you last in the woods.
So far it seems like your plan is not one that will keep you alive, besides how are you going to return to society since you apparently aren't going to live in the woods together? You have no money, no ID, nothing.
I first need to help myself before I can help other people. I do plan on helping kids who had to deal with things such as I did, but as of now I will need to grow@Gazonni

I highly doubt I will spend more than a year in the woods. I still need time to prepare but the place I have my eyes set on is far from where I live and I believe it's best to start now. So far I have only dated my life savings to charity. Which was a total of $50,456
And how are you so sure you're going to survive a year?I highly doubt I will spend more than a year in the woods. Continue traveling on footOkay, say you do survive for however long you plan to stay out in the woods, what do you do when you come back since you burned your license and money?
I'll find a way.
I thought you "had a plan"? Doesn't sound very much like you do.
My plan is this. Upon arriving I am sure I will run into people who can give advice. It will take months to arrive at the pace I'm going. By the time I'm there I should have a plan. If not i won't go in.I thought you "had a plan"? Doesn't sound very much like you do.

I'm thinking that I might end up at Alaska temporarily, which is where I will be very cautious. Then after may trek out to Alabama
So you're just going to be walking for months on end- something I highly doubt you'll be able to complete without getting hurt or dying. Honestly, this is terrible, terrible plan because like @Genecide65 said, what if you don't get in? Then what? You walk back home?My plan is this. ..Are you.. serious? Like.. I'm being complete honest you really don't expect you'll survive going to Alaska. AND YOU ARE WALKING. You wouldn't even be able to get there since I don't know, Canada?I'm thinking that I might end up at Alaska temporarily, which is where I will be very cautious. Then after may trek out to Alabama
Also there's not a trail, and no stars to guide you with the trees blocking them..Are you.. serious? Like.. I'm being complete honest you really don't expect you'll survive going to Alaska. AND YOU ARE WALKING. You wouldn't even be able to get there since I don't know, Canada?
If all else fails I will join a group of hippies. Something similar to the people Chris ran into. That way I will have all I need to survive happilySo you're just going to be walking for months on end- something I highly doubt you'll be able to complete without getting hurt or dying. I'm yet to get rid of my passport..Are you.. serious? Like.. I'm being complete honest you really don't expect you'll survive going to Alaska. AND YOU ARE WALKING. You wouldn't even be able to get there since I don't know, Canada?
You realize that hippies usually aren't the happy people that they seems like in movies right. If all else fails I will join a group of hippies. Something similar to the people Chris ran into. That way I will have all I need to survive happily
