Just a curious question that I want to ask y'all :)

So how did you create your Rp name?
  • Google translate?
  • Random Name generator?
  • Is it your name In real life?
  • None of those?
Well, I might as well start off :D
So my character (Dakota Woodbury) has a lot of value to me. Dakota is my favorite name, period, and Woodbury was the arch-enemy of my faction on an old Faction server I played on. That's how it just came to be!

I'd love to hear how you came up with your name. :)

Phon Senajan - My real life name, pronounced as Pon Se-na-jaan
Mahoney Grant - A name I randomly thought up for it to sound like a country girl
Teresa Henschel - Also randomly thought up, for another discarded family plan
Dexter Schofield - I wanted to have a unique sounding name, and Dexter sounds like it stands for Dexterity which is his family talent, his last name was mentioned to be one of Phon's original trekking group.

Hi.
You saw nothing, Carry on.
(I just like how your name sounds)

  • My first main character, Farryn Gris Kestrel, earned her name from one of the first book characters I've created, the original Farryn Kestrel. Her true surname, Aetos, is the Greek word for 'Eagle'. Gris is french for 'Grey'. When her name meanings are placed together, Farryn's name means 'Adventurous Grey Eagle' or 'Adventurous Grey Small Hawk' when her name changes to Kestrel. The name meanings fit with Farryn since she is adventurous at times, she mostly wears grey and she is small and brave like a Kestrel or bold and loyal like an eagle.
  • My Second main character's name, Arrietta, was suggested to me by a friend but it was spelt as 'Arrieta'. I decided to add an extra T so that the name doesn't look awkward.
  • Drayce Aetos' name is from the very same book as the character where Farryn got her name from, butDrayce gained both his name and appearance from another main character called Drayce Stevens. Drayce's (The Massive Drayce) name means 'Dragon Eagle.'
I like to be very creative behind each characters' names and to add little hints or indications of their personality or what they are good at. ^_^

Melinda Morningstar... She was an old RP character from something that failed. I don't really remember why I made it, but I love the last name Morningstar, and Melinda sounds somewhat of a Victorian name to myself (as she was wearing Victorian clothing for that RP).

Esteri Wintelheim. Esteri was a name my friend chose, and she's part of the Wintelheim family, so I have no involvement with her name.

Leller Corvus? My friend named himself Leller as a joke (lel and er) and I thought he was completely serious for using that name for his character. I liked the first name, and as for Corvus, it's the name of the genus which includes crows and ravens. I absolutely love birds, especially crows, which live in my area.
He's also the sister for one of my dropped characters, Rowena Corvus.

Venditori' was going to be a Vendor of fake goods. (The ol' Snake-Oil salesman)
Vendor or Seller in Latin was Venditor

I added an " I' " and Eusant was just a name I came up on the spot :)

Levi' is the name of a character I like, and decided it suited one of my characters.

My favourite colour is also Green. [ Joke about creativity ]

EVERY. SINGLE. RPG. I NAME MYSELF MACHIRON. THAT WAS MY FIRST CHAR (my god he was incompiant. Maybe I should remake the half elf half human... Or start over with him.)

Well, well, well. Seven characters over the course of a year and a half, roughly. Lesseee..
  • Carrie Vigoli's name, like many others, was half chosen, half-set. Vigoli was the set last name and at the time I was reading Carrie, so. Yep.
  • Calla Anastasia Albatross was, for the most part, made by others. Her middle and last name were already set down when I accepted to play this character, however I wanted to add Calla in there for various reasons.
  • Monica Marilyn Radovsky came to live simply because, well. I knew she wasn't going to be a kind character, per say, and I seem to generally associate Monica with unkind people (sorry if your name is Monica hsuifhs). Radovsky, well, I kinda just used a name generator olole.
  • Dawn Nava's name was more or less chosen by other people. C: Same story more or less with Jonathan.
  • Rhine Duchamp Pim, again, similarly to Carrie's and Calla's names was had chosen, half not. Rhine was a name I'd found interesting for a while and wanted to implant it on a character so yep. Rhine.
  • Isabel Kade was uh. Just y'know. Made. Like, we were searching for a simple, heavily used name during the medieval times and boop, Isabel.
  • Nienna Seremela Knotpen translates to Jade Verity Knotpen. I used an elfish translator and used my own name and one of my favourite names. C:

(omg much derailing.)

Duval Paloin - Paloin is similar to my irl last name, and Duval is the name of a character (werewolf, actually) from the Bartimus trilogy.
Sarro Auber - Sarro is a play on the word Sorrow (since he's a survivor of the Doom of Ceardia) and Auber is a play on Amber, since his eyes were originally gonna be amber in color.
Alibaha Malikamel - Alibaha is an alteration on Alibaba (from Magi) and Malik was the name of one of my Gods of Ramel (amel came from Ramel). Ramel = Sand (in Arabic using Latin alphabet)
Magnus Paloin - Magnus is often used for fire-based characters.
Makoto Paloin - Mikoto is a character from one of my favorite anime/japanese novels ever.

Kore was a really interesting name. It started when I was around 5. I started thinking up names to call my imaginary warriors of "Truth and Justice". Names like Starvan, Keytran, and a few others. I finally got the idea to take a word and change it. My noobish mind took Core and replaced it with a K, because my name started with a K. It was supposed to represent the "Kore, or heart of the universe, everything that stands for justice" etc. The other names in my character are simply ones I thought up on the moment.

  1. Faolan Animulus= Animulus means spirit, Faolan is a nickname of mine who my friends translate as "Pure Shadow".
  2. Dyrnos Vivas= Dyrnos came out of nowhere, Mortinus came from a bastardization between "Martinez" and Mortem. The name was then changed to Vivas, due to... events.
  3. Luuk Edvardsson= I got the name Luuk from a guy I met once, and have not seen him since. He matched Luuk's initial description, and because he had been so nice; I immortalized him as a character. Though now, the initial plan for Luuk being completely pure has been corrupted due to IG events, so he /has/ changed a lot. Edvarsson came from @Oxoman 's head.

Lanaskan Shadowaika: Typed a random few things on the keyboard and then made it sound good; the last name just "Shadow" and then something totally random I typed out after it
John Sasindota: John is a typical name and I decided for the last name to include Dota in it somewhere because my bro recently had gotten obsessed with it so I just added Sass to start off and then, boom, I got it
Yung-Li Galasta: Chinese sounding first name and then a different word for galaxy at the end
Leugel Viduggla: Used goggle translate for this one, the first name gods know what yet the end if a combination of danish for owl and swedish for wondrous

I just used names I liked, And ones that best suited the character.

William Greyy: William was originally going to be Wilson, Until I decided I didn't really like it and went with William

Rosi Greyy: Rosi was originally going to be ruby, But who names their child after a gem? so I changed it to Rose, Then to Rosie, Then to just Rosi Idk were I got Greyy from, actually .-.

Sheldon Barlow: Sheldon was originally going to be Sam, then I decided to change it for what ever reason, And Barlow is just a random last name

Abigail Tucker: Abigail was originally going to be Gwen, Then I changed it to Abigail, Because I think it fit her better. Her last name was going to be smith, then I decided smith was too common of a last name, So I changed it to Tuckett, then to Tucker.

First names
Corwrath: Corwrath was pretty much my first ever Roleplay name, it dates back to before I even played minecraft, all the way back when I first started playing D&D, and I have pretty much used it for my fighters in medieval style games.

Ravar: Ravar dates back before MC as well, all the way back to Neverwinter nights, the first one. It was a randomly generated name, for a familiar, a panther, that you could have as a familiar, if you were a sorcerer, I quite liked the name, and actually stuck with it ever since, for my stealthy, and more dexterous characters I have, in games.

Veridan: Veridan is new, thought up when I needed a name for the brother of Ravar, and after pondering for quite a while, Veridan stuck.

Daylen: Well.. I can't actually remember from where Daylen dates back to, but it is old, before I played MC as well, and I generally use it for my mage-like characters in games.
Last names
Pretty much all of the last names I used were invented in my time on massivecraft, as on most games, I never really used a last name, and just stuck with my first name, generally being last nameless. I sort of stuck with this tradition, that is why nobody will usually figure my last name out in character, as they usually just go by their first name.

Daevaar: Invented when I needed a last name, for my character Ravar, after thinking for quite sometime, it stuck, and was used there on out, and actually gained some fame.

Vaerikus: This was originally the last name for Corwrath, before I ultimately changed it to "Gro-Vulkur" do to the fact of him being a Drow-Orc, a very strange combo indeed.

Marie Beauveret, I just enjoyed the name Marie and MrHappyTinkles came up with the last name Beauveret- I fell in love and thus the Noble Beauveret Family was formed.

Orphelia Donatella, I was with a group of friends @Antoinette @Cielian and we heard the song 'Donatella' and loved it, kinda used a single song to help us figure out a persona for the family and such... Orphelia was actually a meld of Ophelia from the play from Shakespier.

Yvette Red, I just enjoy the name Yvette and Yvon alike- however, seeing as I played a female character her name was obviously Yvette. Red- because of how our characters looked, we found it to be a rather ironic name. Which was formulated with @Ben_2025

Whoops..kinda...had a derp moment ....on the earlier..post.....eh heh....Mondays...
Anyway! On the correct topic!

First names:

Stella:

I came up with the name Stella from Winx Club. I really hated the name Stella because of that specific character's personality and such from that show and when I was making Stella I didnt expect her to last long anyway since I was gonna have her be a vampire, so I thought why not give her a name I despise? But she did last longer. Much much longer , and now I've come to love the name Stella! XD

Animaril:

That was generated. I wanted an actual realistic Elf name for my Dwarven-Elf character.

Bliss:

The nickname and name my dwarven-elf would go by instead of Animaril. I was thinking about kisses and how blissful a kiss can be annnnd from gaia with the item blissful kiss. I thought it'd be unique to have a character with that name.

Scout:
I actually heard this name in class when people were talking about the book [EDIT]"To Kill A Mocking Bird". I wanted a blind character, and thought this would actually be pretty funny to name her Scout, especially when scouts are people who need eyesight to do their task.

Last names:

Mystfire:

Mystfire is the name my friend came up with and that I fell in love with. That was when I first joined cause I had no idea what last name I shouldve had in my noob days.

Satchel:

Uhm this one..just...said a bunch of random words to myself that would sound good with Animaril Bliss, and this sounded great! Til uh..I remembered it was the name of a bag back then but I dont really care..sounds like a last name a dwarf would have anyway haha.

Milaine:
I did the same with this one as I did with Satchel..but people keep thinking that instead of Scout's name being Scout..they think it's Milaine. I think this will probably end up just being her middle name till I can find or think of a last name that definately contrasts itself from the real name.

Vancura:
This name was also generated. It wasnt specifically for Stella but I thought that itd make a special story twist~

Ellenore Montgomery The Second. - Welp, at this time I was watching allot, like, tons of greg and dharma, (Huray for that show!) Welp, eitherway, Montgomery is one of the main characters last name, and Ellenore, well.. I kinda took my Minecraft name for that.

Elizabeth Montalto - I dont know where I have seen or heard it, but it was stuck in my head. Loved it though

Sophia Du Polignac, Welp I took this from a movie, although there the name is Polignon, so I added, tugged and boom. Bob's your uncle, an's your aunt.

Benedict Urbano II: Loved the name Benedict, Urbano is just a nice sounding Italian name
Bruno Draxler: Boy's first name from 'The Boy is the Striped Pajamas'. Last name is a German Soccer player
