From the heart of Daendroc's forests to the bustling City of Regalia, The Haaven family can be found making their leaf-studded mark wherever they tread. This controversial group of Yanar have strayed far from their agricultural heritage in favor of higher integration into society, and have become notable as a prime example of non-Human Imperialism.
Despite the perceived inferiority of their race, they could not appear less like a fish out of water; Haavens frequently don Imperial fashion and stand toe-to-toe with fellow Humanum in their lines of work, appearing less like a race of outcasts, and more like unfortunately colored Ailor. Haavens can be found in all types of careers and social standings from town gardener to a Regalian Guard, but primarily focus around their family business in the medicine trade. They are most notable for their remedial monopoly stemming from the The Alchemia Order: a once humble alchemy shop that has since become a renowned medical charter in the heart of the city. To this day the Haavens continue to claw their way to political and social fame through integration, ambition, and a small amount of nature's luck.

While relatively recent in their distinction as a separate entity, the Haaven family descends from a colony of traditional, agricultural Yanar conceived during the time of the Cataclysm. The Hállëvandëia Colony, as it was known, was formed by a single Mother Yanar named Evalón'cíërelle during the early years of 11BC. As one of the original descendants of the Nenya, Evalón sought to create a garden of confident Yanar to protect the groves of Daendroc from the coming Void Invasion. Using the gifts bestowed upon her by the Fated Ones, she raised towering walls of thorns to encase a small patch of Daen woodland surrounding a freshwater creek, and birthed a succession of children to assist her. By the time her ancient Nenya Trees had fallen, the woodland Grove known as Suryá-Cëllio, or Riverbend, had become home to over thirty Yanar.
Suryá-Cëllio remained a secluded haven during the restless years following the Cataclysm. As the way of life in Aloria shifted, the Hállëvandëia Colony mostly held dear to their original purpose as protectors of nature. The tribe of plantfolk cultivated their home into a worthy village, and from the fertile lands of Daendroc the inhabitants grew food, utensils, and medicine. When the Cielothar and Avanthar appeared upon Suryá-Cëllio's forest wall, they were welcomed with cautious, yet open arms. The introduction of neighbors established an opportunity to modernize from their secluded ways, and by the turn of the century, Suryá-Cëllio's tone of isolationism was gradually shifting in favor of modern ideologies.
The first Yanar to venture permanently from the colony and settle in Regalia, eventually forming the Haaven Family, was Azëlloa Hállëvandëia: a young descendant of ancient Mother Evalón'cíërelle. Azëlloa spent much of his childhood groomed to be a healer, but found himself overcome by wanderlust and a desire to see more of the world. Shortly after his 16th birthday, Azëlloa made the radical decision to join his Avanthar neighbors on their travels across the continent. While this meant leaving his original family behind, he took with him a piece of his heritage in the form of herbal Yanar healing.
The Yanar followed the plainsriders for many years until the eve of 270AC, when Azëlloa settled down in the City of Regalia to form his own colony. Using the experience he had gained from years of tutelage in the field of herbs and medicine, he gradually worked his way into the Regalian education system and acquired a scholarship from the School of Medicine. While he had long since moved on from the traditional notions of the Hállëvandëia family, Azëlloa did not adopt a new name or culture until the year 290AC, when he married his first wife, Niántha Aalviënta: a Yanar of rivalling ambition and main street apothecarist. Shortly after their union, the young budding family decided to undertake the surname "Haaven": a more recognizable Anglian name as an ode to House Kade, as well as Azëlloa's humble home on the riverbend.
Over the proceeding years, Niántha and Azëlloa (who had then renamed themselves Nadina and Zaan respectively) settled into a comfortable life together, sheltered by the moderate wealth obtained through their medical expertise. As the family's size doubled and the popularity of their family business similarly increased, the Haaven's soon caught the revered eye of Great House Kade. During the late year 304AC, the family formally adopted Imperial Culture to secure their place within the Regalian Government, marking the point in which they had officially moved on from their Yanar roots.
In the present day, the Haaven family continues to focus their expertise in the family healing and medicinal trade. What was once a humble side-street apothecary has now become home to one of Regalia's largest medical charters, The Alchemia Order, lead by the owners and descendants of the Haaven Family. The unorthodox colony continues to grow piece by piece with each year, due not only to their race's swift reproductive cycle, but also as a result of Azëlloa's siblings, who travel to Regalia in hopes of following in the Haaven family's green-and-silver lined footsteps.

The Balfort Estate
Located in the agricultural valleys of the Crown Isle, this white-washed mansions marks one of the Haaven family's biggest accomplishments— and treasures. The estate boasts three individual buildings with ample room, bright living areas, a property clinic, and stunning views over the castle gardens. The Haavens obtained the Balfort during the early months of 306AC as a result of their Kade Court positions, and have spent their days since in comfort and vitality.
The Alchemia Order
Once a humble side-shop devised by Niantha, the Alchemia Order has since become one of the city's most popular medical charters-- and the Haaven family's most stable source of income. This sizeable, flora-laden building is primely located on the Tavern Road of Regalia, and sells a variety of medicinal, herbal, and alchemical supplies to the common citizenry. With the assistance of their natural Yanar abilities, the family is able to keep prices competitively low and the profit margins exceedingly high. In recent years, they have even begun to branch out and provide wholesale for a number of guard charters, leading to a useful increase in political contacts

As a result of Yanar Ovalation, the physical characteristics of Haaven family members vary drastically; however, there is strong pressure within the family to retain some familiar traits so as to distinguish themselves from other Yanar. Most notably, Haavens are encouraged to retain Elven and Human body shapes. Beastial physiques are looked down upon as bringing one closer to the unrefined and brutal races, and are feared for their potential personality changes. Even Colony Protectors are expected to make use of Avanthar and Ailor Essences as opposed to Orc Essences where possible.
Skin tone and plumage are some of the few traits that remain consistent throughout the family. Haavens are characterized by the warm, mid-green hues of their skin—typically ranging from an oaky chartreuse to a muted shamrock. Pale or lime shades are near unheard of without the use of over-ovalation, which is equally frowned upon. The details of a Haaven's flora can vary from leaves, to flowers, to fruit and berries, but remain rather sparse in their coverage as a result of the dominant Nelfin Essences. Original Haaven members and their descendents often possess the buds of cyan or violet Starflowers, which grow on the head and torso and represent one of the Haaven family's most treasured attributes. Children born from Nadina (or whom otherwise possess Essences from the family blend) may also display clusters of red or purple berries, typically interspersed between leafy sections of the shoulders and hair.

The Haaven family are known throughout Regalia primarily for their ambitious natures and high level of societal integration. At birth, Haaven children are immediately plunged into a wide plethora of studies and encouraged to follow the topics that most interest them. There is strong pressure within the family to find each individual's "niche". Laziness and indolence are highly frowned upon, and insecure individuals are given almost smothering amounts of encouragement in order to set them on the track to success. Over the years, this has often resulted in fiery and determined Yanar with a hearty drive to pursue their goals. While one would expect such a progressive family to be nimble and adaptable, they are unexpectedly stubborn in these core family beliefs and values. Black sheeps in the family are those who have failed to find a subject of interest, or whom have been unfortunately pushed to indulge in a trade in which they have no interest.
Alongside their staunch work ethics, Haaven family members typically posses polite, amicable demeanors. While this is not present one-hundred-percent of the time, children are taught from a very young age to remain reasonable, and not to act out of malice without a righteous cause. In part due to the Oath of No Harming which is highly present throughout the family, Haavens are unlikely to turn away a civilian in pain. Racism towards beastial and tainted races (with the exception of Kathar) is often kept fairly low-key, and in such cases feigned politeness is usually favored over sincerity. This has resulted in a sometimes "shady" and insincere perspective of the family, especially when accompanied by their tendency to hoard information.
As a result of their integration into a harsh Ailor society, the Haaven family has long shifted away from the quiet and submissive stereotype of Yanar—they are in fact some of the most outspoken examples of their race. Children of Zaan tend to be particularly loud and whimsical, possessing jovial personalities that imprint joy onto those around them. Seedlings of Nadina, on the other hand, show a more stubborn outspokenness; they are oft unafraid to speak their opinion, however controversial or troublesome of them to do so. Public displays of chaos are seldom far away from a group of Haavens, but regardless of their differences, the ties of this unusual colony remain strong.
