House Summary
House Birkwood is a prime example of a standard Western Regalian family with quantity higher in regard than quality. Supported by various small scale businesses, House Birkwood has been able to comfortably live in the Crown Isle. Hailing from the southern area of Anglia beyond Thedmir's Wash, House Birkwood has already made an Archipelago-wide name for running into issues with the Inquisition. Still, resilient, House Birkwood continues to seek power and favor in the capital, certainly a sign of their hardiness.(https://wiki.massivecraft.com/House_Birkwood)

BIRKWOOD FAMILY HISTORY
In the year of 105 AC Thomas Jacob Birkwood, an Ithanian, had decided to start a wine company. After marrying off his daughter to a wealthy family, he was able to secure part of their land. He started a small vineyard, but over time, it grew. After a few generations, James Birkwood felt that the Birkwoods should invest in another trade, and decided to move the family to Anglia, they sold their vineyard but took their workers with them. Before James could start a spice company, he had to get more money. He reopened his wine company in Anglia, and it was a booming success. Soon he bought a vast amount of farmland. After years of expanding, and gaining riches, the local count took interest in house Birkwood, and decided to ask them to supply him with spices in wine.
Upon meeting the Birkwood patriarch, Count Burgchet took a liking to him and put him on his court of advisors. Soon James Birkwood became the main councilor of The County of Mountberge in 157 AC. The family held this position for many, many years. In 246 AC The Birkwoods were rich, had connections, and were political players in the area. They decided it was time for a family coat of arms, and heirloom, they would decide on this very soon.
When a local baron rose up against Burgchet, The Birkwoods led an attack on the revolting barony, who's sigil was the Stag. In 250 AC the Patriarch of House Birkwood, Bjorn, led the Burgchet army into battle with Chetich. After sailing across a river, the Burgchet boats cast anchor, and then men sailed ashore at night, they quickly began torching the military outposts, but they did not harm any innocent person, due to direct orders from General Bjorn Birkwood. Soon the Birkwoods reached the Chetich Keep. They set up a siege, and after months of waiting, and expanding their own supplies, the castle, which was waiting for House Birkwood to leave their guard down, pummeled them with arrows. The Birkwoods quickly set up a shield wall, before Cavalry came riding from
the side of the castle. The Birkwoods suffered losses, but Bjorn and a few of his best men were able to sneak into the castle during the chaos. They stole the armor of Chetich family guards and put it on, they then ran directly to Count Chetich's bedchambers, while he was watching the battle from a window. Once Bjorn got close enough, he drew his sword, and stabbed Chetich in the back. When the Chetich men saw that they ruler was dead, they quickly surrendered. Bjorn replaced the Green Chetich flag, which bore a blue stag with golden antlers with the Burgchet one. Bjorn then torched the Chetich flag. And decided to make the stag, the family sigil. The Birkwood coat of arms was a blue and gold shield, with the head of a stag, surrounded by flaming stag antlers, to represent the Birkwoods conquest of The Chetich Lands. Bjorn Birkwood took the Chetich sword as his own.
In 275 AC Orcs raided the Birkwood estate and the family was presumed dead, The Birkwood family sword was broken in battle, but was salvaged by Emily Birkwood, Emily Birkwood, the only survivor, moved to Ithania for a short period of time, where she married Maximus, a commoner. Maximus persuaded her to move back to Anglia. Count Burgchet immediately made them his advisors. In 285, the Burgchet family died out. The Birkwoods lived in their estate for a few decades, until they all moved to the Crown Isle.
In 305 AC Johnathan Birkwood lost possession of the new Birkwood family sword and decided to have the old one reforged. It was reforged with the highest quality of steel. The New Birkwood family sword measures 30 Inches and has a leaf-blade. Johnathan came across Burgchet's final will and inherited Mountumbria 11 years ago, the people in the land have been loyal since. Johnathan Birkwood passed away at the age of 38, although some still think he is alive, although arrangements have been made, and Wulfric Birkwood will soon inherit the county. His father was killed by Frenzimar Heinrich in an attempt to usurp his county. Frenzimar's champion Wulf Gray took off Wulfric Birkwoods foot in an honor duel. Soon after Wulfric went missing. The house quickly fell out of power and lost nobility. The Birkwoods are currently led by Theon Birkwood.
