House ad Medwyn's beginnings trace back to Kintyr, around 20BC when the founder, Corentin, brokered peace between a local forest creature and the local peoples under the guidance of Eirlys the Winged. From here, their sphere of influence grew and grew until the time of the Five Family Rebellion, where House as Medwyn took up arms and aided in the initial foundation of the Regalian Empire. Ascending to the Court Houses, the ad Medwyns have led a relatively passive history, pushing for mediation and compromise in all things beneath the light of the Everwatcher, always working towards the Great Way.

Since the earliest days of the Regalian Empire, House Medwyn have served as stalwart servants to the Imperial Throne. For long has House Medwyn been synonymous with loyalty and dedication on the pursuit of the Great Way and stewardship of the Holy Empire. Yet in this service, they never lost sight of their roots, always harkening back to their Breizh heritage and traditions that have stood the test of time against the harsh and rugged environment of their homelands. To House Medwyn however, these two forces are not at odds but rather complementary forces: A harmonious blend of cultural pride and spiritual purpose that goes to only bolster their ideals of identity and duty.
Looking to their own strength brought from such ideals, the House Medwyn exemplifies this in their political outlooks towards the rest of the Empire. It is from difference and identity that strength can be found, and through whatever means necessary they will work tirelessly to preserve cultural identity and freedoms, both to those within and outside the Empire's borders. As it is only through true acceptance can all be welcomed under the Emperor's banner and the path to the Great Way completed.
Whilst they may have traditionally operated as a militant force within the Empire, and by all means they still do, the more studious nature of the family heads have turned them more towards acts of education and research. Following the guidance of the Aelrrigan Order and the messaging of Caan, House Medwyn promote the safe and responsible research of the Arcane. But also anything that can be seen as a boon to the Regalian Empire at large.
