Hello! I'm Completely New And I Don't Know What I'm Doing!

Hi there! It's a pleasure to meet you all. I'm honestly really new to the roleplaying scene VIA Minecraft so this entire thing is definitely going to be a learning process for me. But I suppose I should start off with some basics about myself.

My name is Ezra, and my Minecraft name is Nworf. I'm 18 years of age, and I've been roleplaying for about 7 years. I first started out roleplaying on Furcadia when I was around 10 or 11, and that later moved to Tumblr which I've been doing for about 4 years now give or take. So I'm definitely not new to roleplaying, just Minecraft wise.

I haven't really come up with a character yet, but I have read most of the lore pages (I'm still looking into them currently). I'm actually very nervous to get this rolling, but it would be awesome to get to know some of you and maybe get some help working my way around this.

Welcome mate, I was the same way when I joined, not really sure how it worked. I recommend looking into the wiki and familiarizing yourself with the world and how things work. Definitely should just get a lore compliant skin (just look at what everyone else is wearing) and sit in the tavern. Do /nick use OOC followed by whatever you want that way no one will try roleplaying with you and it gives you a chance to observe how everything works. That's all the advice I can give, that and checking the forums regularly for updates to give you a better understanding of how things work. I hope you find your stay at massive to be satisfactory.

Welcome to the server! Your beginning experience sounds similar to my own, having been new to both minecraft and minecraft roleplay when I joined the server. Here's some quick advice:

Don't worry about reading everything at once, there's a lot of lore and more added almost weekly. Skim for your interests and focus on understanding the topics that will most closely apply to the character you decide to make. Heck, when I was new to the server I had no idea about the server lore until I'd been playing for a couple weeks myself so you already have an advantage to most new players who don't acquaint themselves with it.

Hi! Nice to meet you. Something that Nom poked at already was only reading what interests you, but you should build the bare bones of a character and handy-cap yourself so that you learn while you role play. All of my characters have some sort of knowledge handy-cap, but mostly because I choose that. It helps balance characters. They recently added a new race called the Solang, and I didn't realize it until I actually met one in role play. It makes fun, natural experiences.

If you ever need help with anything many on this forum and the server will happily help (myself included), just ask!
I'd ditto Omnom and say just learn what you need for now, get in there (maybe with a temporary character) and get used to the world, then learn from that point.

Anyways, HI! Welcome to Massivecraft! Feel free to... Oh wait... Everyone else said it before me... Phooie. Well, still, feel free to contact people to try and figure out things about lore, I highly do NOT recommend you try learning everything on the wiki page on the first day. That won't happen. Read things that interest you (I.G. If you like the Thylan race, read up on their racial lore, and also lore that may have things to do with them, like the Ur and the land of Jorrhilind or however you spell it I can't remember these things) and then make a small character based on what you read would be my personal advice. From there on... Well, do as you wish. Just don't slap a noble lady even if she is being rude. You might end up like my character: Without a tail and hating everything.

As many people said, you should learn the lore (some of it). Lore is IMPORTANT for RP around here, at least what's compliant and non-compliant for your character.
