From the Desk of the Secretary for the Whip. All contents detailed below are entered into the public record.
Given the week's course, I have decided to revise earlier expectations. I have included the expectation below.
Secretaries will be required to publish biweekly public reports of activity in their offices. These will detail what the Secretaries are working on in a public record, to allow for transparency in governance. However, any State secrets or other sensitive materials will be censored due to Imperial Privilege. Any Secretary without a clear record of activity, be it through reports or edicts, will be subject to scrutiny, detailed below. These reports will be due October 21 for the first, and November 4 for the second, and so on and so forth.
I am of the current opinion that the state of the Empire shifts dramatically from week to week with the constant pulse of life in the Holy City, as well as elsewhere. While I will exempt the first period, after October 21, I will be expecting activity reports weekly. The rest of the expectation is unchanged.
Below, I have detailed responses to my inquiries.
- The Secretary of Finance, Her Grace the Duchess Catherine Tyrannian.
- Duchess Tyrannian was being investigated for personal corruption and abuse of position.
- I have been notified that some of my information was misguided, and have addressed this in meetings with her personally. There will be an announcement coming from the Bureau of Internal Revenue Enumeration posthaste about the progress and results of the investigation launched.
- However, the Secretary for the Army has informed me that the Secretary of Finance is the one to ask about the soldiers' pay, which I will be following up on. The budding Anahera situation is also concerning, and will be dealt with.
- The Finance Secretary is no longer under scrutiny.
- Duchess Tyrannian was being investigated for personal corruption and abuse of position.
- The Secretary for the Army, His Grace the Duke Garth Viduggla.
- Duke Viduggla was being investigated for using his position to further personal politics, with no care given to the soldiers on the Warfront.
- The issues I had were all addressed in meeting, and I have been told that steps are being taken to solve these. It remains to be seen, but I have faith that he will follow through with discussions with the Marshalry Cabinet and other bodies necessary to do his work.
- The Secretary for the Army is no longer under scrutiny.
- Duke Viduggla was being investigated for using his position to further personal politics, with no care given to the soldiers on the Warfront.
- The Secretary for the Magi, Councilman Aeralaanys Rhylovhas.
- Councilman Rhylovhas was being investigated for inactivity.
- In a meeting with the Vice-Minister, I was completely unable to pin down how two months' of work was equated with the interview of a low sum of six mages.
- However, the Court Mages have been confirmed relatively quickly, and new White Mages have been legalized. I am watching, though, to see if these are bursts or constant activity. A listing of mages and aberrants still needing meetings will presumably be released this week.
- The Secretary for the Magi is still under scrutiny, though not as intensely. A meeting will be scheduled this week to address this.
- Councilman Rhylovhas was being investigated for inactivity.
