With the arrival of magic to the massive, me and my fellow faction mates are planning to make a magic academy that is flying above the clouds with magic but building rules of massive tells that every building must be supported to the ground to be realistic. But now, with magic, flying cities should be a reality too. Please make a change in this rule we will be appreciated.

Honestly I always liked the fantasy element of this. If someone is willing to put in the HOURS needed to make a floating chunk of land and build a city on it, I feel it should be fine. Would look freaking epic too to be honest

This is what it will look like. i mean isn't it just epic..

The issue with floating landmasses is with the way magic works in roleplay lore, it doesn't really support that kind of sustained magic afaik and I think staff wants to keep faction builds as lore friendly as possible.

The only problem I personally have with it is its potential to uglify the worlds. Even if people put in the tons of work it would take to actually build something like that, I feel like the skies will just eventually be full of these things and it won't look great.

I think it would be cool if there were a new world built specifically for this build style though. Something that looks like Pandora from the movie Avatar.

Roleplay lore isn't enforced in Faction worlds, nor are factions required to follow it at all. I feel because of that, the build rules in Faction could be relaxed a bit.

The eventual build of ugly platforms and such is a problem, yes. To be honest, as much as I like this idea in theory, I don't see it working out that well in reality.

Floating cities will not be allowed because even though 1 or 2 people may build something nice the majority of people (especially new or younger players) will build floating cities on flat 1 block platforms. We still see people trying to do this even with the rule in action.
