This basically started as a joke I made in general chat, saying I missed my first faction (GranLaurona) and all the fun I had there ending it with #FirstFaction. I got a chain of people repeating it after me. I would like to ask everyone what their first faction was (If you remember) and what you did (Was it fun? Or Not?) and your overall experience in the first faction you joined. I'll start off with mine!

GranLaurona.
I joined GranLaurona on my 2nd week on the server (Or something like that). I was invited by @todd178 and almost got kicked on my first day for being a noob and breaking 2 glass panes, luckily for me, I wasnt kicked, instead the leader @Lizman1000 gave me work to do, keeping me an active player.

Within the month I had officer, I remember first getting officer and thinking "Wow, I'm a god now" But overall I started a rapid recruitment process boosting our numbers from 15ish to over 50 players in 1 weekend. I really enjoyed being In GranLaurona, it gave me the chance to really meet some cool people on massive and share a fun experience with them! I remember many things but the first thing that comes to mind if the singing of songs in faction chat (@Mortifarious) <-- Also helped Gran realize we had a river and could actually fish in it :P

I remember constantly being raided by @Assembly123 for reasons I dont even remember, I remember always calling in Algaron or Magnanimus to fight my battles for me, I remember Eldergods and my constant raids on them. I remember Raptum raiding GranLaurona almost every day at one point. I remember a lot, seeing @starkiller_117 (In Iron armor and only using speed & posion and a wooden hoe) take on warlord_hobbs (Fully god armored, fully potted) and actually killing him. I remember @KSTRandom and all the good times we had.

Now its your turn massivecraft community!

Osion-
I was almost starving and completely lost when I figured out how to use general chat. I believe I said something along the lines of "hi, I'm new here", to which Mecharic invited me to his faction at the time, Osion. Osion was basically a hillfort. Nothing special aside from the fact that it was pretty secure at the time due to the fact that enderpearls were relatively expensive. Anyway, I was given a lot of land to use, and I built a tiny 4x4 house in the middle of the plot. I also dug a 4 block wide trench that went down around 50 blocks into a moat of flaming netherrack, but Mecharic covered it up when new members kept falling in.

I was promoted to officer within a week or so, mostly because a few hours after my recruitment a jerk named stven1234 griefed half the faction to heck. Mecharic wanted some prevention against future instances of this, so he promoted a lot of guys to officer. I made a small market area at the base of the hill the faction was located on, as well as attempting to build a road to another faction before realizing around 5000 blocks of cobble in that the said faction was located on another world. I started work on a potion room filled with brewing stands, and made around 2 double chests full of potions. I walked to Osion's mother faction, Pristina, and talked a lot with the members there, although their officer's recruitment tactics seemed rather dubious, as half of their members didn't know how to go into alliance chat. I took place in two wars during my time in Osion. One was when the leader of a new subfaction of Osion started acting like a jerk, so we ended up exploiting the fact that he gave me building perms in his land and spawn-camped him a few times before he surrendered. The second war was when Algaron decided to bring the holy light to Pristina and ended up completely destroying us. I think I got maybe a single kill during that fight, and that was when I threw half a dozen noobs into XVW(I think that was his name?) before having him die due to fall damage. Then Mecharic decided to temporarily give me leadership of Zion, a new faction he bought with oakleaves. Unfortunately, he did this offline with the help of a mod, so I was quite confused when I logged back on.

Theradin, back when it was active. I spent around a week there, till I got kicked for breaking one of the officer's portal after we had a disagreement. I then joined a couple other factions for brief periods of time, only staying in Steadfast for an extended period of time before joining SunKiss, which I now own.

#FirstFaction: VSTC (Ventari South Trading Company)

VSTC was the faction that a friend of mine from another website, ThomasOverMany, was an officer in. He recruited me first to MassiveCraft and then to VSTC. Once in VSTC I promptly noobed it up with an underground hobbit hole, though in my defense it was actually pretty fancy for a first-time-builder who'd only been playing Minecraft for about a month.

During my first months I did a large number of things, using the account "MasterMachine100" which I stopped using when a deadbolt glitch cost me my entire stash from about 3 months of work. In VSTC I reached the level of Officer, under BBgun99, and even PvPed a bit. My primary duty as part of VSTC was building - I helped build the City of Solitude in Old Ceardia (it was pretty good actually) and also built a large island fortress way out near the edge of the map back when NC was expanded.

I remember exploring the Ruins of Pristina after ItsNickBarry got permbanned, and I remember seeing the First City of Alamut (Badru) and being raided by them in my first week. I remember walking right out and chatting with Kapry while my faction members screamed that he was the enemy. I died (duh) but it was fun and the battle (slaughter) was friendly.

After BBgun99 got banned for being an "alt of ItsNickBarry" (they're siblings) Pidog10 took over and we built Solitude. Then Thomas and I engineered a coup that lasted until Pidog contacted an admin and explained the situation - we were both kicked and then founded Osion, which would later move to Daendroc and build the City of Gran Laurona (keeping the name of Osion mind you) and becoming the first faction I ever lead (to greatness).

All in all, my first 5 months on MassiveCraft were probably some of the most fun I've ever had, and I'm genuinely sad that Cayorion couldn't just reuse the Seed for Ceardia instead of deleting it. I enjoyed working with VSTC and wish that BBgun99 had never been banned - I'd probably still be a part of VSTC if she hadn't gotten the ban. That said, I can't really complain about how things have gone down since :)

Kiest- I never joined a faction for the first 5 months I played massivecraft because I actually wasn't playing. However, when I started to become active again, Kiest had open arms to me, and within 2 months, I had gotten officer. Kiest was where I also learned some of my roleplaying skills from @RealJust2cool1 and @konaka321. I remember building Kiest's old market in Ithania, and how much hassle it was to find sheep. I remember recruiting @GalaxerSparks, and how we instantly bonded. I remember reviving the University of Kiest in Ithania, and how that never really got finished due to moving to Fenderfell. I remember when we first found our location in Fendarfell and how I made a ghetto-ish apple farm right outside the portal to restock our horses for the calvary. I remember the "Great Revolution of Kiest" from @YankeeGiant8013 and how much he hated @William_Kiest. I distinctively remember how Yankee made all of our titles Black and Bolded "V's" and how the 2 used propaganda for either side of supporting Kiest, or abandoning Kiest.

As an officer, I recruited a ton of people who eventually went inactive. I remember teaching them how to roleplay a little bit, but not fully. Oh, how I remember those noobs and how they couldn't distinct IC over OOC. I remember making friends with some of our active members such as Caelan12846 and GalaxerSparks (whom I eventually promoted to officer when I left for Sylvan). I remember trying to make a stable job system, and how people wanted to abuse it by picking a job that had the highest pay no matter what you did for the faction -cough- Blacksmith -cough.- I also remember getting raided, a lot. Even when I still visit back there for nostalgia, most of the casual checkups end in raids. Furthermore, I remember reading Kiestian history books that @konaka321 gave me towards the end of my Kiest experience, and how he wanted to write a book called "The Heroes of Kiest." I was apparently supposed to be in the book, but I don't know if the book ever got published. I also remember farming in Kiest's old farms, and how my only job was breeding and slaughtering cows for leather for bookshelves. I remember when Kiest declared war on Magnanimous, and how Yankee and the PaxRomana Empire were going to declare war onto us for getting into war with Magnanimous (keep in mind we were part of the empire anyways.)

And, the list could go on and on. #firstfaction

That moment when you realize you haven't left your faction the entire timeā€¦ #StartedFromTheBottomStillThere

@Wannag
THIS ALONG WITH THE 200TH EPISODE OF SUPERNATURAL!!! THE NOSTALGIA IS OVERWHELMING!!!!! I'll cry out a detailed post tomorrow because I have to get up in the morning.

"We have a river? How long has that been there o.O" - me after leading gran for 3 months and finally realizing there was actually a river running right through the city

Anyways
First Faction, Hisoka. (Actually, there were a few before this, Namely beerando's faction, just don't remember enough to actually talk about it)

I joined hisoka on my first day coming back from a long inactivity period ( like, silver edge was still around when I left, and regalia was in the house when I came back) I was looking for a faction, and was swiftly messaged by @AaronChuey who recruited me, and let me in the faction. He gave me a small tour, and a nice lil home, I later met @Shayin ( who is like. The best.) @todd178 (who at the time I thought was a total weirdo. Sorry buddy <3 ) and @Mecharic (who I wanted to notice me oh so badly) and plenty of other people. We had a ton of fun times and pulled off tons of shenanigans together ( one being a OOC prison breakout, crazy fun.) as time progressed, my few found friends were promoted to officer, and I was too eventually, we all had our own little towns ( Me, todd and thomasovermany were in charge of GranLaurona) we all built, laughed and cowered in fear as we were raided together. Around the end of hisoka's life, I had met around 60 - 70 new people (most of which are inactive or don't remember me). Eventually, the faction split up, and I was put in charge of GranLaurona.
#MyFirstFaction.
And that's where I met the almighty river God, @Mortifarious

Lets see... Let see.. I started off like most people, didn't know what to do so I kind of just did my own thing. I met someone from Osai and me and 2 other friends decided we would try and join it. So we walked half way across some desert, some guy on dynmap chased me for about... 70 chunks? Until We 1v1'd. His name was @redbananaboat . I had never met the guy, he killed me but I knocked him off the sand dune and he fell to his death. I ran back and picked up ALL of the stuff. I felt like such a god, Oh boy was I wrong. I finally got to Osai and was taken through a welcoming rp to determine if I was good enough. I passed the test and was welcomed into the ranks of Osai, given a house and I was off. I believe I had quit the server after that and rejoined after 6 or so month.

Chronikatr. I joined the faction Chronikatr when I rejoined the server and I was the potion bitch. I busted out atleast 70 double chests by hand. I was finally allowed to pvp with @Snakeeeer in the darkroom. At one point @Snakeeeer and someone else were being mobbed on and I ran out and saved Snakeeeer from being killed. Once again I felt like a badass. I am not 100% sure what happened after but at one point I joined Invictus!

Invictus!!! I had joined invictus after I befriended I think it was @gridiron1024 and @thor5648 and signed the waver for the premium thingy. I ended up staying until all of us wanted to leave for some reason. That is when I joined Magnanimus!

Magnanimus. I joined magnanimus and once again I was the potion bitch. I joined Mag a bit before the undead war and we went and raided a bunch of factions. None of the factions sparked anything special until we hit the faction Mithril. I had stayed after a raid for whatever reason. For funsies I guess and maybe to score a kill. I ended up meeting a girl name @N_atalia and I completely fell in love. I ended up leaving Mag to join Mithril. That is all behind me now and I am a huge help to Mithril and always will be.

My first faction was Atheria. I spent about two weeks of just derping around Deandroc killing mobs to make money and get my gear (didn't realize how easy mining was and Mmmm Massivemob loot) and also boosting my stats far beyond the norm and at the time I had no idea how important that would be to my future on the server. Anyway on one of my daily explorations for loot in abandoned factions I came across one that had a few weird portals I stepped through one and was instantly ported to what I would later learn to be Fendarfell. I ended up on a small claimed Mushroom biome which I can't recall the name of. I saw in the distance a great desert so I decided to head there. I wandered through the desert a day or so seeing all there was to see 'til I finally happened upon a river. Across the river I spotted a horse with a saddle so I made my way over to it. As I got closer I noticed it was also named though again the name escapes me. I took the horse and headed in the southwest direction just wondering and looking at all the sights. After a bit of a trek I stumbled upon the great city of Atheria. I roamed the city for a little bit checking things out but since I didn't see anyone, I couldn't get any loot, and had no real intention of joining a faction I wandered a little ways further south. Eventually I must have gotten turned around because I came upon Atheria once again. This time I saw some movement in the city so I went to investigate. I saw a man in full enchanted diamond armor by the name of @Niften so I slowly trotted over on my horse and started to type a friendly hello when Niften struck me dead in about 1 hit.

I quickly received a PM from Niften apologizing and explaining that he thought I was a raider. He offered to let me come back to Atheria to get all my loot and to reacquire my horse. After arriving to get my stuff Niften made the offer that if I wanted to stay that I could. I really had intended to keep wandering faction-less forever exploring but IDK something about this place really clicked with me. I took the offer and moved in immediately and the rest was history. Been there close to 6 months now minus a few weeks I spend in Magnanimous which I loved it there the people and atmosphere were fantastic but it really just wasn't the right fit for me.

Anyway I have no plans of leaving anytime soon so. #FirstFaction, #LastFaction?

#FirstFaction: No clue what its name actually was.. But I joined it as a noob about 5 minutes after joining the server as it was an open faction on the top of /f list. I was kicked about two minutes later because I didn't know how to switch chats and couldn't talk in faction chat. I think they thought I was a spy or something.

I later joined Rythor, mulligan3000's faction. I stayed there for about two or three weeks before I joined a rebellion and therefore a new faction, Libertem. My first actual home. :-D

My first faction was NightSun.

I joined it because the person that brought me to the server was in it.
I was put to slave work digging out the basement of his house alongside @cyan_cats and one or two other members of the faction.
We dug out the entire basement, and I had one chest with misc supplies in it.

I was only there for a grand total of 3 days.

I was in a faction which I think Ryciera ran? Can't remember the name.

I remember i owned my first faction Arcadia. i had this big tower on a castle with numerous old portals and what not. Recruited a few people in, constantly getting raided by Bornasepic and eventually abbandoning it, along with the small council i made. Tbat were fun times, and all would be accepted at that time, even feared vampires.

My first faction wasn't actually on this account, it was on a friend's account which I no longer have access to. SkyHammer, a City in the snow of Ceardia. I was sad to see it deleted, as the memories it held were wonderful.

However, my first actual faction on the account which all my friends know me on, was Morthion (Or Morgannwg back then). I started off as a lowly farmer, doing nothing but harvesting chest upon chest of wheat and carrots because everyone else was too lazy to do it at the time. Then @togal300 decided to raid us. Fun times.
Fast forward a few months, and I eventually got officership and, due to the inactivity of the friends that ran the place, leadership. It was good fun, introducing as many people as we could to the server, eventually holding a maximum number of members of 113. But I got bored and wanted something new, so I left when Fendar was released and haven't looked back since. It's nice to see that the faction is still around, and the core of it is still fairly active too, even if it has somewhat fallen from grace.

On a side note, the battles that took place outside the /f home of Morthion were some of my best memories of the server (see Magnanimus Undead Crusade) . Where the average FPS was around 2, and cannon spray fire made it even more fun. I swear we crashed S5 a few times due to the sheer volume of people that were smacking each other with axes (I swear the largest fight was with around 25 people on each side). It was great to be in TeamSpeak with people such as @Sevrish, and it even formed one of the strongest friendships I have, with @Terrariauk. If I could relive it all, I would

My first was Revelation, I had to pay and never saw anyone on. So I left to Northwatch, was inactive so went to Southstone, went inactive so went to Arakdan felt a need for change so met up with my fellow Billy and now am apart of Mithril.

I joined Osai. Sad, because after a bout of inactivity, I came back and it was gone. As was OctoberGwen.

My first faction was Frosthold...
Back then- like 2 years and 5 months ago- I was basically a poor human slave to a bunch of Vampires. I remember building them a few houses and harvesting so they would earn money when I sold it off. Their faction leader was a pain in the patella, and I was afraid to leave the faction because he threatened me with death and whatnot. Eventually though, I found the courage to leave! I ran for a while and started my own faction somewhere north of the Frosthold settlement. I called it Overlords, and that name remained until I renamed it to Valorian some months later.

I remember how afraid I was Frosthold's faction leader would raid the living pixel out of me... Glad he's gone! Woo! He sent me a mail some weeks after I left, too...: "The faction is dead because of you!" ... *chuckles and self hi5's.*

My first faction was Mordor, we were constantly raided which pushed me into learning redstone engineering to prevent raiders from coming in. After a few kills with traps I got became more blood thirsty and join Dorne (Mcmuffin's faction), soon afterwards Qarth caught up which provided me with more power, still i was unsatisfied and decided to join Magnanimus. Which was @spectec's faction, I had some good times there.

...I was in frosthold on Tubularmatrix for a time.. Which leader did you mean, as the only one I can remember is PaddyBen, who also led Morthion... Although Frosthold was the faction in which I went inactive for almost a year
