In a recent discussion, I've found that most people disagreeing with the subject were in fact those who raided for no reason and liked it easy. The problem is that as factional PvP is now (raids and wars and random killing) there is absolutely no fun in it. There is no political PvP. And if there is it's far and few between the senseless foolery that kids call "battle" nowadays.
My notation of the current situation is that all burden is placed upon the defender, when in truth and reality, it should very well be placed upon the attackers. If you have any military experience (U.S. Army Infantry of the 101st Airborne Air Assault myself) then you know that in reality, it sucks to be the attacker or on the move away from base at all. You're exhausted and even though you have eaten a single half-ass meal and had a two hour nap in the past 3 or 4 days, you need to think and have a clear mind.
The 30% reduction in damage while on your own faction territory mad SENSE. If it can't be 30% then make it 25 or 20. But my point is, it made sense that the home team got the advantage because the away team was tired from traveling and huffing it to the fight. In medieval times, it was probably beyond triple the amount of effort and suffering.
Here, we have enderpearls. The sole way that people surpass defenses. It's part of the game and I understand it, but the way things are now, there is no burden on the attacking force like their should be.

My solution is simple. Please bring back some form of "home team buff".

Regardless of any off topic conversations or points,

65.2% want there to be more of a burden on attackers.
4% want there to be more burden on defenders.
And 30.6% want more political elements involved.
People feel that attackers are too strong.
This post is, well, wrong. The numbers represent (as terraria stated) a mere 23 people. The last line is especially wrong. Judging an entire community by one poll is quite a bad way to go about this. The poll, in my opinion, states very biased answers that are trying to force people onto your opinion. How about a "None of the above"? I disagree with every poll option. Not to mention that "Burden" is quite a broad term in regards to this subject.

Defenders will always have the advantage. They are on claimed land and can access the base in ways no raider ever can. Running into doors, making use of hidden traps, and having hidden portals to approach the raiders from different angles are all good ways to have a defensive offensive. The buff is broken. As a pvper of two years, I can tell you this buff is killing pvp. Since that seems to be the focal point of this thread, I see no reason to keep the buff. Many people have the delusion that this buff somehow saves them from raiders. That is a very ignorant point to make. This buff is why we see a spike in lol raiding. Magnanimus and Raptum, the two largest pvp factions will no longer directly raid eachother due to the severe disadvantage raiding a faction inside this buff. Since that is the case, we go looking for others to raid since raiding good pvpers is really no longer an option, and any decent faction becomes a challenge, whether they feel that way or not.

I actually used to PvP quite a lot in my earlier MC days. Then that fiery passion just kind of simmered out and I started to build instead.
Me too. The problem is, it takes too much effort and time to PvP on this server. Why should I take the time leveling up my McMMO skills when I can easily pick up a few blocks and start placing them instead? Same concept with roleplaying.

For me it would have taken a way more time and effort to roleplay, than pvp.

I honestly believe Mag made PvP worse. They created the idea of putting 20+ High Quality PvPrs into 1 faction before that most factions only had 2-5 good PvPrs, and rarely had 10+ PvPrs at your door. They brought god armor, and by doing so brought darkroom mongering which led to stat mongering beyond that Fishing was also used in high amount for the xp to create god armor. Then the treasure from fishing began piling up inflating the economy. That is just my opinion. I can feel the dissenters a mile a way though

I'm sorry but until an enemy faction has the ability to open doors on your faction land they will IMO remain at a severe disadvantage on an offensive raid.

Only evidence I need is myself. I can hold my own on my factions land but I'm worthless on a raid of our own.

Notice this, PvPers Don't like this idea, RPer's love it, Yet this Idea applys to PvPers.... Hmmmmm....

@gridiron1024

You're exactly the problem with mag. In the history of mag it has power grabbed Invictians, Valyrians, Argonians, members of 9th, members of chronikatr, and the new members of Algaron. At one point they had 40 of the servers pvprs. They have forced other PvPrs who disagree with them to create a super power to compete with mag this has turned into series of wars between the super powers which just became proxy battles at other peoples factions. In essence every war since Magnanimus has been created can be defined as Mag v Solaris because they are always the same thing.

@Sarge_Peppers
Do you even know what you are saying? Lets just completely ignore the fact that prior to Magnanimus Valyria and Argonia did exactly the same thing and grabbed all the pvpers they could to take over the server. Not only that, but lets also ignore the fact that Magnanimus grew in response to the Solaris threat, not the other way around. Sorry we recruit pvpers. Maybe you should try it rather than whine about it.

i actually never considert mag a threat, even now, after 9 months on the server i do not fear them. "why?" you may ask, well back in the day's a was a complete noob my friend had a faction that was located near mag (i think 1/4 day travel and we reached it?) we never got raided, not even killed when i was walking along it's wall while wondering why their wall was so ugly and high. so i think i just proved you wrong @Sarge_Peppers about you saying it's a contionious treath to small factions. (reminds me of it that i better go train my axes for once, also i might have misunderstood you sarge, in that case just say it)

A quick look at the Mag enemy list and you can see a lot of random innocent factions. I am guessing they all didn't actively engage Mag in war, but rather were LoL raided under the new legal right to raid.

I like how we can't help but devolve into arguments that have no bearing on the OP.

@Terrariauk
Getting back into PVP after losing respect for RP. Likin' it again. Community is just as bad as it was a year ago though, I do note.
