While news may travel by word of mouth, a notice seems to have been handwritten and posted to noticeboards by a miniature brigade of bidden spirits in order to allow that news to spread faster.

People of Crookback,

I have spent the better part of the past year fighting by your side. I have supported your efforts, fought back against those that wish to see us torn apart, and have tailored the path I take every day to suit the better interests of those within this district. It is now that I am asking something from all of you.

I ask for your trust, as the district falls under my command.

I have no intentions of halting your individual efforts, only that you will follow the direction I give when it is given. I have hardly led any of you astray yet. And for the mayor that not only disrespected me, but threatened the safety of Crookback as a whole, I hope that you do not have the same disposition when tending to your personal flock.

If you wish to question, challenge, or simply speak to me. Do so. My apartment is on the top floor of Sherburne Plaza, if you knock I will answer. In the meantime, I will be delegating roles I do not care for to those who you are already familiar with. As that is how things should be done.

Your love and dedication to the people of Crookback is admirable. There are few who could rival it and I cannot deign to pretend I am one of them. I am sure the people appreciated your consultation with them prior to your making of this announcement, something which I regret having been unable to do.

I apologize for being unclear yesterday evening in my expression of genuine concern for this Borough and its people. I do not for one moment doubt the good intent behind your actions, and assure you that I share the desire of wanting only the best for the people of Crookback. The worst things are often done with the best of intentions, however, and I cannot help but worry your efforts may have unintended consequences.

Though my own appointment has not yet been finalized, I hope we can meet again soon to discuss solutions that will lead to the successful future you desire and deserve.
