"When I am six feet under with bugs eating my brain,
they will get visions of you. They will hear me call your
name through a moonlit night. They will experience unimaginable
wonders, as they feast on the corners of my brain that housed you."

Physical Description:
Briar's physical appearance is a mix of confusion and indifference, his face a canvas of subtle emotions that rarely shift with an expression that is a constant enigma, as if he's constantly forming questions he can't answer. His body, though lean and athletic, tells a different story - resilience and silent struggles. His frame is on the slimmer side, an almost gymnast-like build, suggesting that he always was moving, quick on his feet, built for speed rather than brute force. His muscles were toned and defined, though there was a noticeable lack of fat, giving him a fragile look. While this lean physique of his made him agile, it often gave the impression he was hungry.
Briar's skin was another thing, a patchwork of scars and stitches that map out a forgotten history of mental and physical battles. Some recent, others old, but they stand as testaments to his disregard for personal safety. Probably, the most notable one his healed burn mark on the left side of his face, a reminder of a close call. His features were sharp - a defined jawline with intense eyes... Well, eye. Though, they often seemed distant or clouded, as though there was always something scratching his mind.
He's a man with a face that seemed older than his years somewhat, as though each scar and strain ahs aged him years that physical age can't account for. It's as if his appearance never feels quite whole. His agile body built for speed with a look that betrays him by looking worn, and not to mention that eye patch he wears. To look at him is to see a person at odds with himself, His physicality a contradiction: a healthy, fit body that often seemed close to collapse under his own weight, wrapped in the silence of someone whose seen more than he can remember.
Personality:
Briar's personality has undergone significant shifts after every memory reset, as if his soul was being remade each time. Despite these constant changes, there were three things about him that remained apparent. Like the remnants of a foundation barely supporting it's structure, they play a central role every single time:
- He was always curious, an insatiable thirst for knowledge that drives him forward, ironic for a man that constantly forgets. Despite this, his curiosity knows no bounds - he questions everything, seeking to unravel mysteries no matter how obscure. This curiosity of his leaks into the physical, pushing himself to the limit to discover the boundaries of his own existence.
- He never knew when to stop himself, his inability to recognize when to stop has pushed his body to his breaking point, often ignoring the signs that his mind or physical body is about to break. Whether it's the pursuit of knowledge or mental resilience, Briar is relentless. Like hardened steel, he rises again, never quite understanding why he continues, but his passion will go beyond his memories, even if he thinks negatively of it.
- He's incredibly pessimistic, always assuming the worst from situations. Despite his curiosity and tenacity, his mind was always drawn to the darkest outcomes, creating a mental defense mechanism against disappointment or surprise. In his own made world of no recollection of his past, his pessimism serves as armor, shielding him from the emotional weight of hope. He anticipates failure and is rarely surprised when they arrive. To him, it's easier to brace for the worst than to be caught off guard.
Presently, Briar is a man adrift in a world he no longer remembers, struggling to make sense of a reality that feels both alien and familiar. Every reset leaves him with no recollection of his past, nothing to guide him along the way. Yet his curiosity compels him to find his place within this new world, to understand how everything works, and to carve out a space for himself despite the constant erosion of his past. He longs to belong, the desire to uncover his purpose, to find something that will stay constant in his ever shifting reality. His morals, while still intact, are increasingly fragile. His resets have kept him from encountering or remembering much negativity, so his sense of right and wrong is largely uninformed. His actions are guided by a deep-seated desire to be good, but this can change depending on the experiences he encounters. Like wet clay - impressionable and easily molded - he is capable of shifting with new influences yet still tethered to his core principles.

Backstory:
Briar Felaard's life is a sheet woven with with threads of mystery and misfortune. Born to a Teleddan mother and fathered by an Ailor man, his mixed heritage set him apart from an early age, however it also gave him a unique perspective on the Arcane. Recognizing his innate magic prowess, his family sought the guidance of a private tutor, well-versed in the arcane arts to help nurture his talents. Under this mentorship, Briar delved deep into the mysteries of the Elemental and Enchanting Schools of Magic. His aptitude was nothing short of remarkable; he could manipulate the elements efficiently and imbue objects with potent enchantments. By the age of 16, he had bought himself a pair of gauntlets, masterpieces of both combat and magic as to commemorate his dedication and skill to the craft. However, as Briar's abilities flourished, he began to experience random episodes of memory loss, the lapses being sporadic at first but increasingly frequent and severe. The origin of this affliction remained anonymous, with only hints suggesting a possible connection to his magical practices or maybe a placed curse. Each encounter with familiar faces or possessions from forgotten lives seemed to trigger the episodes as well as just happening at random encounters, erasing significant portions of his past. This relentless cycle stripped Briar of his identity, leaving him a wanderer not only of the land beneath his feet, but also the abyss of his cradled mind. What good was his Arcane Skills if he couldn't even remember them? Despite his fragmented memory, the gauntlets that he had gotten remained constant companions. Though his mind was a shell of himself, his body remembered instincts and past, practiced movements, relying on muscle memory to carry him in the few bad situations he got himself to. Despite his unfortunate events, amidst the speculation and rumors of who he was, he persisted, driven by a hope that one day, maybe he'll unravel the mystery of himself.
Curse:
Ashen Requiem
Briar is cursed to randomly forget every single detail of his life, and anything from his past life, whether it be a person or an object or even a sentence be spoken that reminds him of his forgotten lives, the curse will also activate.
Plot hooks:
Fractured Wanderer
Due to Briar's inability to retain memories, he's constantly seen wandering random hallways looking confused. Half the time he doesn't even know where he is or who he is
Fading Gambit
Briar will occasionally remember certain abilities or certain moves and will be able to pull it off... Only before completely forgetting everything about himself
Unstable Caster
Briar constantly suffers with magic instability. He has quite a large mana pool but it is also what his curse feeds off of, so in his own way, his memory loss is his own way of venting. If he were to try to cast a spell with the curse still on him, he'd go unconscious in seconds.
Tempo Royale
Briar in his younger, rememberable days was a fast spell caster in a magical discipline that relied heavily on tempo- speed, rhythm and a flow of magic. He manipulated spells with a kind of precision and pace that was irregular, smugly nicknaming it "Tempo Magic". However, now that he has no recollection of his magic, if he were ever to try use even a small dosage of his arcane ability, he'd struggle immensely with his magical instability.

Terminology
The "Forgotten" and "Emerged" titles beside certain things within the sheet have meaning, here they are:
FORGOTTEN
Hasn't remembered anything related to it, unable to use it
EMERGED
Has used it before, but does not understand how / remember how to do it again
ACHIEVED
Has full knowledge over it, but not total control as he should have
REMEMBERED
Full control and completely efficient
???
An ability he gained that:
- Isn't tied to his memory loss
- Has no control over
- Random
Additional Information
In certain situations, mainly combat, if Briar lands a roll that will score him a hit on someone, I'll still make him miss / hit weaker than expected as to account for him getting used to himself
