This thread explains Aristocracy Registrations. These registrations allow players to register as a wealthy family. We prefer that aristocrat families be large, but will accept solo registrations. Registering as a wealthy family has perks, such as providing resources in staff-run eventlines, but also risks. A character with more possessions and potentially lands abroad is obligated to higher conduct and wisdom, lest these things be damaged or taken away. aristocracy registrations are a discussion between you and staff where we workshop your registration, but we reserve the right to reject it if it cannot be worked with.

- Court Family: A court family is a regalian noble family with titles, effectively "old money," that gets their wealth from the land they rule. They are politically active in the palace and at assembly, and often scheme against one another.
- Red Family: A red family (short for red-blood) is a regalian non-noble family, effectively "new money," that gets their wealth from trade. They do not have the same prestige as court families, and do not have titles, but have more social mobility and are usually richer.
- Gray Family: A gray family is a non-regalian ex-Noble family that departed their original country to settle in Regalia, effectively being exiled. Gray families have neither the prestige of court families nor the wealth of red families, but persist in cultural ties to their homeland.
- Crime Family: A crime family is a regalian non-noble family whose wealth is generated from illicit activity like racketeering and fraud. They are considered neither noble nor prestigious, but are welcome in high society due to plausible deniability as long as they behave rich.
- The theme section can be as long or as short as you want. Give us an idea of the family you want to register, what they stand for.
- There are no heritage restrictions except Bralona, Mystech, and Orion, who cannot be registered in the aristocracy system.
- There is no religious limitation on registrations, but some combinations need to make sense. An evolist Ailor family that is a court family can only do so if they keep their Evolism hidden, because they would not have survived the 270's purges.
- Only if Court Family, you must explain why your family was ennobled. This is always for having rendered a service of merit to the Empire, or otherwise having aided the cause of the Emperor in a significant way. Simply being wealthy does not convince an Emperor to ennoble a House. If you do not know Regalian History or cannot parse it on the Wiki, feel free to provide us with a story and ask us for the best time period for it. If you do not know a way to become Noble for your intended Aesthetic, you can leave this section blank and just ask for suggestions. First-generation ennoblement (your Character) will be reviewed with more scrutiny.
- The Province that your family inhabits on the archipelago province map. Consult the region map and culture map for help picking one. If court family, this will be attached to your title as the province that your OOC leader(s) rule(s). Other family members are not landed. Otherwise, it is just a reference on hand. If gray family, this is your country of origin.
- We are willing to potentially discuss court families with no archipelago land (i.e. purely Ithanian, Lusitian Houses, etc.). Inquire if interested.
- The username of the OOC Leader, usually the applicant. Up to two OOC Leaders are permitted.
- List the usernames of all players in your house. Character names are not necessary. You do not have to re-register every time you add a new member, we only want to know in your initial registration.
What titles can we choose from?
Any court family member can have a title. You can choose Baron(m), Baroness(f), Baroq(nb), Count(m), Countess(f), or Countirh(nb). In all cases, regardless of whether a blue blood family member is titled or not, they are all referred to as Lord(m), Lady(f), or Lirh(nb). Titles, or a change in titles, do not need to be registered with us. Other family types do not have Titles.
My Family leader left, what do I do?
If your OOC leader would like to leave and hand the family to you, they must do this in a ticket. If you cannot contact them or obtain their written consent to take over, then you must register a new family of your own, and cannot retain the old name.
I would like to completely change my Registration from the ground up. How?
Send in a completely new registration, but mention this registration should overwrite the previous one. Please be aware it is not possible to change between family types without retconning a lot of roleplay.
Where can I see my (and others') Registration?
The public list of aristocrats can be found here.
