Tacked to surfaces across the City, wormed into every corner and crevice of the sewers, thrown up onto every New Crookback bulletin and neighborhood notice board, was a letter writ in a slanted scratch that bespoke the irregularity of oil and the impetus of a fire yet started.

To everyone,

Hey. My name's Cecil, Cecil Dzekh'aar. Some of you know me, many of you don't-- but most of you know the name I wear so proudly just after my first, and it's for that name that I'm speaking, so listen up.

Last Saturday, we waged unholy war against the Fae Sepulcher in a bid to nab the Crown of Worlds, and we were beaten down with a fury. It cost us blood and tears, and we've been taking a few days to lick our wounds and recover. However, we lost something else in the process.

We lost our brother.

To many of you, Qalhata was the source of your greatest nightmares and problems, but to us, he was a family member, and we're grieving. We'll be grieving for awhile. However-- some things have become clear to me in the time since.

Many of you assume that I, Cecil, and my co-leaders will be immediately taking up Cal's mantle and continuing to incite violence in his name. I'd like to say here and now, in front of everyone:
We're not going to. Cal's last wish to us was for us to be safe and to pursue our freedoms. So, we're gonna do just that.

What does that mean? Well. We've no plans to turn our cheek and let people rag on us, but we also don't have plans to burn anyone's livelihood down to pursue vengeance. No, our vengeance is taking another form-- which is our unfettered pursuit of power, security, and freedom in this grand City. Come to our door, and we'll defend ourselves, make no mistake. But the time has come for us to take a breath.

In the coming weeks, we'll be opening our Estate periodically to visitors to answer questions, extend kindnesses, and strengthen our connections with allies. We'll also be giving back to the people of New Crookback in the ways that we can to atone for past harm rendered. To the people of the surface: stay away from us, and we'll stay away from you. To our enemies: Try something. I dare you.

We're a proud people, and we're not prone to restraint, but we're hopeful that this new direction will land us in a happier place than our previous one did. If you're gonna call us cowards, consider that we had the option to reduce the world to cinders in revenge, and we didn't.

Anyways. That's all from me. If you have something to say, consider how it'd sound said in front of a gang of Kathar holding weapons, then proceed. Otherwise, take care.

Until next time,
Patriarch Cecil Dzekh'aar

OOC Info
Hey, guys. Here's the OOC tl;dr of the post above; if you don't read that, please read this.

Kaahl Dzekh'aar is taking a much needed step back from server-wide antagonism.
Essentially, being the target of everyone's anger is stressful and tiring, so we'd like to not be that anymore. We're not going to stop being a loud, violent Kathar Kaahl, but we're not going to burn down another district.

Kaahl Dzekh'aar is not going to seek violent retaliation for the death of Qalhata.
Why? We're kinda tired of constant conflict. Small scale fights with groups and one-on-one scuffles are very much still on the table, but most, if not all, of our 'vengeance' is going to come in the form of sticking around with our middle fingers up.

Kaahl Dzekh'aar is recruiting and active.
Despite the shift in leadership and direction, we're still very active and looking for new members. Our current goal is to support the personal endeavors of individual family members, so if you want a powerful group of pals who'll help you do your crimes, this group might be for you! In the coming weeks, I'll be overhauling the forum page for the group; if you'd like to join, message me or CRASHIR on discord at starson#4044 and CRASHIR#8861.

Thank you for the support. It means a lot, really. This little crime family managed to become one of the most memorable and impactful antag forces in recent Massivecraft history, and while we're stepping back, we're not stepping out. So here's to more shenanigans.

"Acceptable, though he said Crown of the World...now that intrigues me. Those grubby knights keep such a interesting treasure in their vaults. Perhaps another point of consideration on the trip," comments Tizu as the Allar servants helped the scholar pack.

"Perhaps now the Undercity can get creative again," comments Alucard to his daughter. The toddler merely staring up at her father bright eyed.
