A Reminder
As of recent, I have seen an explosion of Vampires in the tavern. This is very strange to me, as it appears many characters are either lore ignorant (I am not saying I am not ignorant either, but let me explain why this situation frustrates me), do not understand how to Roleplay, or God Roleplay. Here is a list of the problems I have faced:

- Vampires openly drinking blood in the middle of the tavern (RP and plugin)
- God Vampires (they mention openly how they can kill everyone inside, and when a group of 5-10 people surrounds the vampire and begins to speak with them, they do "[Godvampireplayer] grabs role player and rips their head off with incredible strength+"
- Vampires in the day....usually Vamps would hide in the dark during the day
- Running away from guards and players in the middle of RP and while being surrounded
- Arguing for Vampire rights and saying they did nothing wrong (they can argue for rights, but claiming they did nothing wrong is incorrect. They:
A) Broke the law by being a Vampire
B) Did not bother getting cured which is easy
C) Are a result of a curse an Archdemon created in order to divide and kill off the races

- Inheritantly Vampires get urges to feed on others. Their whole purpose is to spread their curse. That becomes a part of who they are. It is an evil curse, created by an evil Archdemon for evil purposes. Do not pretend like you are the Nyan cat filled with the goodness of the world and are struggling against an unjust society.

- It is super dangerous for Vampires to be in Taverns.
A) we are supposed to RP that there are "invisible" guards surrounding us. We live in a military state. There are guards everywhere, but we only RP directly with character controlled guards.
B) Everyone can see that your a vampire, they will fight you. They will kick you out.

There is more to add but I believe this shows my frustration. Comment if you have anything to add or if you agree!

While some vampires do have actual good disguise while they visit the tavern for whatever reason. Most tavern vamps are like you said. They're either the good vamps or edgelord vamps

These sorts of people make me shake my head. It actually drove me to making my own vampire character, just to "show them how it was done" so to speak. The result was a sadistic, manipulative Mekephit, who actually seduced reluctant fledgelings into embracing their bloodlines, rather than rejecting them. I made her with the full intention of being utterly cruel and evil, and the result was a huge amount of growth and development for a dozen different characters - whether they were one of the vampires fallen to her whispers, or one of the living that would go on hunts specifically to kill her (yes, she was that bad), or the Mekett that actually allowed herself to become infected in order to kill her. She would walk amongst the living, simply because for the most part, Mekephit are indistinguishable from Circci at first glance. The sun didn't just hurt her; the damage it dealt was more or less instantly lethal.

I feel that the problem is that people don't really see past the powers that it gives them. They sign the contract before reading the fine print, so to speak. What many of these people fail to realize is that the weaknesses are actually what drives the character's story forward. Going back to the Mekephit example, she was not exceptionally strong or quick, but she was nigh-invincible to normal injury: Her arm dislocates? She pops it back into place, and evaluates the next enemy. You stab her with a rapier? She laughs hysterically and continues walking forward, letting herself get impaled, and grabbing you by the throat in the meantime. This made fighting her difficult, but also meant that she was very, very cocky when in a fight, and would not retreat until she was hopelessly outnumbered. However, if she overstepped her boundaries, or was exposed to a vampiric weakness (holy water, sunlight, stakes, etc.) it would utterly destroy her. I really wanted to make the hunts feel hopeless, and terrifying - almost like a horror film - and oh did I portray her as the monster. It was a thrilling experience, and every character involved grew exponentially!

But no, let's not talk about how fully embracing what being a "vampire" is leads to a rich experience for everyone involved. Go back to talking about how you're a superhuman that's harder to kill than Rasputin, and how you can walk through the sun like you have on SPF 5,000 sunscreen on at all times.

It's for these reasons why I usually avoid the main areas around the Willow. I can accept the fact that there are the red eyed hoodie kids running around, because I assume they just got on and are just getting used to the way things are.

However, It boggles my mind to no end when people just casually talk to vampires or argue for equality (shudders at the thought)
Personally, if some red eyed guy is approaching me and I can tell, expect some sort of weapon to be drawn or movement to a more guarded area.

Last thing I never get is how vampires can freely walk to the tavern during the day without any sign of pain in RP. I'll ignore the "god mode" in Regalia for this, but it still is confusing when in a RP day situation, you can see vampires walking around like any normal person.

Probably repeating everything HiddenNazgul said already :)

So, a big thing for me, is vampires walking around above ground. My Dakkar was talking to his friend in the park, and, having been raised Unionist and New Ceardian, didn't like vampires. Some red-eyed man asks him for Lapis, and he turns to bash them in the face. The guy got ooc mad at me for rping a proper Unionist. He followed up by avoiding the 100% surprise attack with grace, then the next two, then ran.

People think all vampires have extreme strength and speed and it drives me freaking nuts. Like, one or two bloodlines get big enough boosts to even note.

Hoody vamps. End of paragraph.

Save-The-Village-Stop-Being-Racist Vamps. There will never be vampire equality.

I find the most confusing vampires to be those that argue for rights on the grounds of being the 'good vampire' (i.e. only drinking blood from donors.) I just find it interesting that they desire to be a vampire if they do not enjoy the actual blood sucking aspects of being one (which to me is the hallmark activity of vampires across all varieties of lore).

It actually makes me want to sit down and discuss why they want to be a vampire if they don't wish to engage in being evil, especially when you present them with the cure which would make their lives infinitely better because they do not have to worry about 'falling to the corruption'. The few I have talked to seem to be born a vampire, and thus it is the only way they have ever lived, which I take as a simple fear of change in one's life. And really, we all share that fear to some degree.

Oh, and then there's the people who argue that, despite all evidence to the contrary, that vampires are their own 'race', and that it isn't just a disease created by the Archdemon. I always point to the fact you can have Orc vampires, but they don't seem to see how it can't be a race if different races can be vampires.

Long story short: Make sure you understand how Regalia works, how your bloodline works, and how the bloodline would change how your base character acts. A Fallisma wouldn't be completely sane, if sane at all, an Oggressor wouldn't be willing to cooperate unless forced into it (and even then, it's hard..) and an Irontooth will always be greedy.. Don't be an Edgelord hoodie vampire, don't be an idiot who walks around in the daylight without proper reason (Also make sure (s)he reacts to the fact they're /in the sun/), and please, oh fucking /lord/, please make sure you don't ignore the obvious downsides to being a Sanguine.
Wait, you actually read all of that? Why?.. It's just me rambling... I'm sorry for wasting your time.

If vampires really want to do tavern RP, the Mossy Poss (at least I think) is the perfect place, seeing as there are more shady people like them and no Crimsons.

Tbh vampires mostly suck..The ones who gain strenght/speed(human only):Sun-ji - strenght and speed as well as claws,Ogress -strenght and minimal speed boost due to muscle mass,Qul'ess - base line,Dra' - muscle mass same as ogress.
Just a note my tier list for vamps is(from best to worst):Chyga(Mostly for balancing mage age),Dra',Qul' and te'suik at the very bottom due to them being the worst idea...

Chyga are great. Their culture is also really cool.

It won't let me quote you @_TheBlackParade_, so just bear with me on this.

I agree with almost everything you said, except for the part about sewer dwellers hating crimsons. I think it makes sense for criminals who live in the sewer to hate the Inquisition; they did flood the sewer dweller's homes, after all.

It doesn't really make sense for every single hoodie vampire in the sewer claim the Crimsons killed their family.

Obviously. I'm just saying it's probably fine for a majority of the sewers to dislike the Crimsons.

However, having said that, the Crimsons are not there to give your character a tragic sob story.

What I meant was that it's annoying to have someone say like "The crimsons killed my family!" or even worse "It's so mean of them to hunt vampires. Most vampires are soooo nice :3"

But yeah. It's fine for most people in the sewers to dislike the crimsons. It's only annoying when people whine about them and argue for vampire right.

Vampires lost the right to have any rights besides a free curing session.. You can't argue for rights if you don't even have any worth while.

^~^ Don't question nonexistent logic.

Lol you have a point. And honestly, if someone decides to be a vampire, when curing is easy enough, then tbh they shouldn't have too many rights.

"For every upside there is to being a Sanguine, there's two downsides." -Some smart dude who had a keyboard.
They kill to survive. Giving them the same rights as a klein after curing, maybe a bit of a brand somewhere obvious.. Gotta atone for them sins.
Wait.. Why am I responding? Ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff. . .

Another problem I've seen from the Guard side of things is that too many shout that the guards are killing the Vampires. Most if not all guard organizations make it a goal to only cure vampires and set them back into society. It's only when the player says they do not want to be cured that we say we have to kill them several times, making sure they know what is going to happen.

Only real downside to the Cure is vampires under 16 can't survive, and so their only option is to be executed, because otherwise the cure will kill them painfully.

Exactly. The guards are just doing their job, they don't want to kill anyone. It's only a problem when they don't accept a cure.
And it's even easier for Quels to get cured, because they can also use an altar.

Getting angry isn't going to help them. They're just ignorant and apparently can't read.

Experienced players have a responsibility to help the new people just as much as the staff. Go into OOC and show them where they can rp as evil as they like (sewers) and maybe in the future they will become knowledgeable about how things work in regalia.

Lets all work together to make regalia fun for everyone and maybe make the community a bit bigger.

Holy Spirit knows we've tried. Some people refuse help though. Or are really stubborn.
