[stampled all across Regalia on notice boards and the such was this simple message. The handwriting was neat and consistent on every parchment. It was written in black ink.]

Dear Leonard Underwood,

I was shocked to see my very own name in the Imperial Times. Giddy, almost. Until I saw how you falsely reported the situation and slandered my name. Now I, Gwelurin'ümerie Venphyra'relínni, will set the word straight.

Firstly, I am not a male. While I may talk like a male, drink like a male, and dress like a male- I am indeed a woman. If you had bothered to actually interview me on the situation, you would know that to be true.

Secondly, everything you said I did, I did not. Here's what actually happened. It was a normal afternoon in the Nestled Nook Inn. I was playing a drinking game with who I would call my dearest friends. Then, these thugs burst into the establishment, telling us to empty our pockets! They proceeded to take hostages, who are patrons I swore to protect and held daggers to their throats. I did not chant for us to attack the thugs. Rather I did what any woman says to a man who requests something that she will not, or cannot, give. Which is a simple two-word phrase: "Fuck off." I proceeded to yell at them to get out of my Inn, until one of them jumped over the counter, and hit me with the butt of their spear. I was not shot. I have no idea where you got that from. While I did attack back, I quickly surrendered, as my senses came to me that they still had hostages.

There is something you didn't mention in your sea of lies. I had saved the Nook from losing thousands of regals by hiding the lockbox while the thugs were not looking. I will not mention where I hid it.

Thirdly, a response to my behavior at the execution. I will admit the way I acted was inappropriate. However, you must understand two things:
  1. Those thugs threatened to harm people I care about. They were going to murder them without any hesitation.
  2. I was very drunk. I'm sure you have had many drunken mistakes before.
I will end this with two parting messages. The first, if you're going to run a paper, at least get your facts straight. The second, I'm not the bad guy. Do not make me out to be one.

Sincerely,

Gwelurin'ümerie Venphyra'relínni

Llozzi'sil Al-Yaotl read this quickly on the board she passed by. She nodded slowly after finishing, quietly repeating the Manathar's name under her breath.

"Maybe they are not all so bad."

"But are you entirely sure that you are not a man?" A particular Manathar flashed a mile-wide grin as she'd jest to her close friend.

Rosana simply snorted as she read the paper. "You take too much offense to it. There's deeper things going on rather then putting the wrong gender. You couldn't prove me otherwise. There's people getting killed and executed over menial things. Jailtime would have been the best - The Violets cannot ignore what they did."

Meanwhile in Greygate the Lord Commander Howlester was blissfully content, some might even call it ignoring, what had happened. He knew his law and he was not about to allow commoners to defend murderous traitors. After all, Regalian Judiciary procedure dictated that the burden of proof was guilty until proven innocent, and many people had witnessed the hostage situation that day and the treasonous and murderous statements that had been spouted. Damn, the venison tasted even better today. He'd make a mental note to compliment Maurde the Cook on his way out of Greygate before heading home to his nice, warm bed for a pleasant night's sleep.
