Hey, so I have voiced my opinion, mainly ingame, that we could fix PvP relatively simply. People just run and hide in their base, right? If we implemented cannons, with a creeperheal-esque plugin, so you can cannon bases then have them restore, and potentially small, custom cannons, it would provide a way for raiders to gain entry to bases that there are people sitting in, which would help force them to surrender. I do not agree with the overclaiming of land, or of the forced surrender options, because those "take away from the experience" (i know i sound like a broken record, hear me out). On the massive website, like i believe @Sevak posted in the "Fixing PVP By Fixing Factions" thread, the massive website promises a realistic experience. That does not mean forced surrender, that means the faction leader making a concioius decision on whether or not to surrender to raiders. If forced surrender was implemented, it would need to be smaller than max tribute, but still large enough to encourage defense. I think that 12-1800r would be a good cap for forced. But I digress. We need to create a way for raiders to gain entry into buildings that are in enemy territory, without permanenetly damaging the faction's creations, or allowing overclaiming. Discuss..

PS: sorry if this sounded kinda rambly, im tired as hell right now

I pvp a little, not an avid PvPer, but in my limited experience, the larger factions are far more lucrative. This is more geared towards encouraging bigger factions against each other.

Creeper heal + cool down on TNT would work just fine, imo.

I like it, as long as it doesn't cause lag

Despite having put a lot of work into builds (like my own), i still think this is a good idea, since it regenerates. You dont lose anything, save for gear you may have lost in the fighting.

While i love the creeperheal idea...

Massive kinda does advertise "no explosions" or whatever the official quote is and there arent many other servers like it. We might lose new players who come for no explosions.

I just looked on massivecraft.com and it says "A Factions experience like no other" which doesnt necessarily imply no explosions, and realistically, if this happened, they could just edit that quote or paragraph to reflect the changes on the server.

This has actually been suggested before, but was rejected for a few bug reasons. One being most of these regen plugins cause amazing lag when they actual do their thing. Another being Chests. If a chest if blown up, the items go everywhere. If it restores meta data, to preserve skulls and at the same time chest, which it would need to, then it might dupe items. If they make chests invincible idiots will make walls of chests as defense... Though, that final issue can be solved with making it illegal, then players can ticket and screenshot when they find bases doing that.

In general: Im in favor. I think one of the biggest issues with factions on massive is there is no way to REALLY raid. Canons and such were removed because players were salty, but because of that people slowly stopped raiding, and pvp became less common. And as pvp lessened more people left... If there was actual risk and actual reward for these raids, it would 1- push the people who hate pvp to hide better or leave, and 2- bring back some activity from actual pvp/factions people.

The other issue being the RP factions. We would need a way to toggle canoning on their bases- beyond just making it a rule. Because honestly, we all know how humans work. We are arseholes. So you cant trust people not to load up with an inv of tnt and go blow the shit out of random rp factions' bases.

Maybe having a form on the forums for RP factions to apply to get game staff to toggle tnt in their claims would be enough.

On top of this... it might be an idea to give the players who dont want to raid and arent really RP factions a place to go as well.... Maybe, tie in Kell's PVE world idea if canons were enabled? Hm? Good trade off in my opinion.

Cannons got removed because nobody used them besides in maybe one or two fights. Allowing people to toggle cannon-destruction defeats the entire purpose of the suggestion.

Not just allowing random people to- I specifically said, for RP factions. Because RP factions are not meant to be raided anyway- in fact im fairly sure there is a rule against it. A staff would have to do it, after a form had been submitted by the leader of said RP faction, allowing it to be moderated so that random factions dont abuse the system.

And I think the post is intending for TNT canons to be used, not the Canons plugin.
