Hi! This is a art thread, and like art treads. It holds art.
That's really all I got to say about it.

-If ya need to know-
I have a tablet, it's a Wacom Intuos Draw and I used to use the program Fire Alpaca. I've tried digital art before and it didn't stick with me to well, maybe at a later date I might get into drawing on it. As for now I will try and do a weekly post of a traditional sketch or such. What I draw with is a H9 pencil, it's one of the hardest graphite pencils and leaves a fine detail onto the paper, being a lighter shade when drawn with. They're typically used for sketching and such, but I've come to just liking to draw with it.

-What you will find here-
A abundance of traditional art, mostly graphite. But I do work with ink and plan on getting into watercolor.

Character Lottery
I sometimes find a interesting character while scrolling through art or character threads. If you're lucky, I will draw a picture of your character for free. I give full rights to the user who made the character to be able to use the drawing on their thread as visual stimulus, or just another piece of art to add to a pile. Lotteries will be random and may even have multiple winners in a update. But do understand, I do not take requests.

Day two was pretty fun, at first I was gonna have Siegward with either the main character or Solaire around a Estus pot but I thought this was nice.

Today was kinda a slow start but it got going fast. I recently bought a Used PS4 and bought Red Dead Redemption 2 with it. I've been playing it nonstop and it's a real beautiful game. The world feels alive so many times it's great. I'd recommend it if you wanna try it out. Also I got Bloodborne with it for free so I think I've already made my money back.

On another note I did that little thing I'd say I'd do in the beginning of the thread.

Azra, Theif, Rat. Any of these are what you'd call this Qadir Girl. A great theif played by the very @AtticCat who has done a very good job with fleshing out their character and tackling events with them. Azra was always a blast to be around and was a personal favorite for characters I like.

I think I've had a good year so far, and it's been entertaining for the most part, it's just been kinda weird looking back on some Slum related things that I did back in April and May and then to today with how different the server is. Though I haven't been on the actual server in quite awhile.
Anyways here some of the stuff I did in the past month.

Oh oh one last thing I bought a whole PS4 for Red Dead Remdemtion 2 and Bloodborne and I gotta say RDR2 was worth. Just the atmosphere was nice and the music MmMMH. (Pics below not related.)

I think this was more early November

I've been wanting to get into more background based art too, I find it quite relaxing.

So uh, I came back on the server for the first time in about four weeks and picked up some wicked bartending rp. But uh, it's been fun seeing familiar faces again and I'm getting back into my usual grove easily.

Also game awards happened last night. It was cooool? One game I thought was special was The Outer Worlds made by the lovely studio, Obsidian who made a damn good Fallout game, Fallout New Vegas. The trailer and characters themselves had so much character blasting anything else shown out of the water. It's coming out sometime next year and I'm pretty excited. --> here is you wanna get a peak <x> plus, I really really like the finger gun girl.

But you're here for art so uh. Here. Enough about my past week!

I think this was about 2017 August if I'm not mistaken? I played a lot of DS3 back about that time and really liked the Drakeblood armor.

NPC I sketched when making one for a DND Campaign. Home-brew v5 with pirates and guns. Had one PC topple a bookshelf on a guy running away and another pretty much die at the hands of the three musketeers. I think the guy below also shot or stabbed one of the PCs, he was cool.
RdL7SBe.jpg

If you wanna know that bartending job I got it's at the new Falcon. Cozy little place that I have loved since back in v4. I've been spending well, all of my time there. I haven't touched most of the other parts of the city. Come by and get a drink I'm usually online 18:00-23:00 CST on weekdays and randomly on weekends.

I remembered doing some sketches for a few characters I like the look of, and who I have been around forever. I took on Shane Marth who is played by @DolittleGuy A wonderful potato head that likes rum and is probably a bond wife for Garth. First time I met him I think it was at the Falcon actually.

Well back at it again, and I found a extra stack of sticky notes. And if you don't know me. You don't know how many sticky notes I go through. Sketching, aimless checklists for things I'll probably never get done on time, sending comments to friends by shoving a bunch in their lockers and bags and to take notes of course.. I did a bunch of headshots with some character ideas.

Also December has been nice so far, apart from class work.
4mlmXJn.jpg

This was I think a week back. Falcon has been a blast so far, doing bartending stuff, getting regulars. It's nice. Not to mention all the events to having a nice stream of RP in line. I've been wanting to do some events and I had an idea for a biggish one. Thought it might be fun. Also casual bartender RP is always nice. Pouring and mixing drinks, making it feel more immersive, I like it. Still need to get some use out of that fighting pit.

Also, side note. Played a visual novel/game called "VA-11 HALL-A" that I really liked, it's a good and sorta short play with some cool characters, dialogue and cyber bartending action. It's sequel "N1RV Ann-a" just got announced for 2020 and it looks like a jam. From the trailer of course.. God that's a long time. And the music, man is the music good. It's either this meaningful, slow melody that captures a moment. Or a fast paste and actiony vibe that catches a bar's theme.

Well I'm back with the scraps, just four this time. I didn't do character art last thread and I met someone last night I thought had a realllllly interesting character.

My winter break just started so that's cool, I might pick up some more pens and better pencils for Christmas. I think pens are the last of my worries so I'll probably get something like one of those high tech professional mechanical pencil or some random stuff like a kneaded eraser. Thinking about it I need new guitar strings. I'll include it if it's interesting.

So I ended up doing some practice on my little tablet I haven't touched on in awhile, make a cool knight. On the topic of knights as well the knight school of Matrais was really interesting, it was something different and reminded me of one school way back when where you had to be short to be proficient in it, it involved using a dagger tied to long sword while also controlling a falcon? It was kinda odd but a cool ass class.

Vfr16rz.png

Just another Knight nothing special, I got in the mood of drawing just bulky tanks of armors and swords. Honestly I just doodle these guys in class sometimes, it's something about just the geometric shapes coming together. Plus plate armor is just cool. I threw like three of these guys at a Human Fighter in the campaign I mention last post and they decided to go fist to cuffs with them. Uh.. I think he tried to throw an oil bomb and burnt his leg hair and died.

5oa5l0W.jpg

Back to traditional stuff, I tried to draw her in Fire Alpaca while I was drawing the knights but it didn't come out how I wanted to. This above I think was pretty good. I might throw her into another character I had an idea for. They both seem fitting for the thing I was thinking of.

Also just kinda off the topic I found some music on youtube that brought back some memories.
First being Cats on Mars which I didn't know was in Cowboy Bebop. I just remembered the melody from a couple of videos I watched and it was catchy. Not the usual to what I listen to. Second being Trauma Center Under the Knife 2, for the DS 2: named Gentle Breeze. I think it's a visual novel??? Maybe, looks interesting. I saw the Gamegrumps made a playlist on it way back when.

Ol' Stella dei Marchesi. I met her last night at the Falcon while I was working the bar. Came in with such a different approach than other characters I usually meet and was just fun to be around. Really exaggerated things to a humorous extent. Beat my ass in darts not to mention.

I dunno too much about @alianon herself but she seems like she knows what to do with the character and how to play a fun and interactive one. I plan on enjoying seeing her character again.
(Bonus points for Bloodborne aesthetic outfit, reminded me of Alfred) <X> - Character, send 'em a winner.

I don't got much for now, been enjoying my break for the most part. Got new boots so that's cool.
During this year's steam sale I picked up some cool stuff though. First game was called Shigatari which is pretty much feudal Japan FTL. You play as a Samurai pretty much going around acting with the world and killing some higher ups to get to the emperor. It has a traditional art-style that follows the time period the game is in and is pretty enjoyable at points. The combat system was hard at first but after about an hour of playing the game I got ahold of it pretty quickly. It was $3.99 on steam so I'd say it's worth a play if you wanna try something like FTL or want to play somthing different.
Second game I bought was Domina, this pixel style gladiator sim where you train up gladiators to fight in a bunch of matches leading up to a tournament at the end of the year. It's a pretty rough game, I mean you can lose some of your best guys in a match and all you can do is watch. But again, once you know how to abuse the AI stats it gets very simple. But watching your dudes go in these 6v6 matches clashing among each other is pretty enjoyable. It was fun setting up my guys with gear and sending them into a match with a bunch of lions and armored dudes. It was $4.99 at the moment and $9.99 fully. Honestly I wouldn't buy the game if I knew what it was like now, its a very simple concept that's pretty linear. You train up your guys, gear them and then send them to fight then repeat. It's about good for two games? I got 14 hours in the game but I had it open while I was working on other things. You might have some fun with it but I wouldn't recommend it.
Well I think the highlight of this Christmas was the new boots I got and some new art supplies I'm getting ordered. Apart from that a few more things that where special was looking back on this year and the year before seeing improvements from me and this one other game I bought for the winter sale called: OVERWHELM. If I had to pick this is probably number Three on games I played this year. OVERWHELM is the simple concept of: "You are a knight sent to destroy a hive." And that's it. No backstory about you or where you came from, no details about the place you're going to or even the hive for that matter. So the game itself is, well. Hard to say the very least. And by Hard I mean Feelings of rage that shouldn't amount from a simple pixel game. The mechanics of the game are you get a shoot option, punch option, jump and double jump. Simple. But that's it. No more upgrades or special gear you get from playing. And the more you go into the hive with every boss you kill the hive gets stronger. They essentially get that upgrade, and the bosses stack getting harder. Not to mention. You die in one hit. Anything, and I mean anything can kill you in one hit. And you only have three lives. You get a refill of lives after you kill a boss or secure a gem. And oh boy, does this get painfully difficult, backtracking after you killed a boss or moving to find the next one can be a terror. OVERWHELM is also a horror game. With this sense of dread and natural fear from you just playing alone. I generally don't get that feeling from most games other than spooky jumpscare.gif No.34 Not to mention when you're on you last live you have a droning and loud almost screaming like noise that rings on until you refill your lives. But once you beat it you can find the end to be rewarding, with constant mysteries being adding on to be unveiled at the end. The game is suuppppppper short. I beat it at six hours and beat new game+ at only two. But for the cost of $4.99 at the moment it wasn't a bad deal. What sucks is the lack of community for the game. I mean, it's pretty barren. But it's title artwork is pretty damn cool. <X> Check it out
Happy holidays to everyone and I hope the new year is even better!

Hey, Hi, Hello. First post this year and I got some stufff. I even got a new mechanical pencil and have been trying out digital stuff more.

I've been drawing these Bell guys, they're cool.

I've been trying to practice more landscape stuff.

First Person to guess this location gets a five regal reward. No Joke. Also sick Meta Knight on the side, I was on a Smash Bros high.

I've also been playing Luftrausers a lot recently. It's pretty good to just sit down and take a bread to play around with the jets.

OK, so the next two are a Daily/half weekish thing I wanna try to do to help me keep drawing. It's just a little diagram of a weapon, Melee or gun related. Some might help in CRP if you're not to rounded with some of the more obscure weapons other than LONGSWORD, MACE and DAGGER.
1sLFyOk.png

The M1-Garand. A rifle that replaced the Bolt Action Springfield used before. It's years in use go into the 1930s to the late 1950s as at the standard US.Rifle. It was simple to make, had enough firepower and could be shot accurately efficiently.
- Made and designed in the west in the United States and Canada by John C. Garand.
- Uses .30-06 cartridge which is what most general hunting rifles use today.
- Was generally paired with a Bayonet
- Has an Iconic "Ping!" once the cartridge is ejected.

Q6cRXDx.png

The Stiletto is a dagger who's whole purpose is to stab deeply. Most older stilettos have no sharp edges except for a needle point. It was generally simple to make only needing a single rod or bar to make the guard blade and handle. And since it wasn't sharp the worry to keep it a blade conditioned wasn't needed.

The Stiletto was carried around by Assassins as the murder weapon and by Knights as a secondary weapon. It proved to be a viable way to pierce through soft armor such as padded chainmail, and was proficient enough to get though the gaps between Knight's armor and eye slots. By Assassins it was simple to stab, and since the weapon's blade is so long it could cause a serious threat if stabbed near the collar or neck.
- Originated in Italy
- Has a new coined term as a type of shoe.
- Was similar to a bayonet

Edit* Oh shittttt we got 1k views.

Hey, deciding to do these every two days? Maybe three depending on my work load.
LnBkdvY.jpg

I've been doing a lot of Bloodborne and Dark Souls stuff lately. I dunno, It feels sometimes natural to draw Some of the bosses or armors. That and just armor in general. I've been drawing that since last year.

Mad Max, a friend of mine loves the game and likes to take some max graphic screenshots. I gotta say, it's sometimes oddly beautiful to see the dessert and all it's carnage.

fLOgvR3.jpg

I never really show the actual size of a lot of my drawings. But generally they're close to a penny or quarter. It's 1/2 the time I make some decently large drawings.

xnx5tZv.png

For all those guards and gladiators out there, meet the Ranseur, the trident's and spear's bastard child. Made around the 1500s on the island of Corse just off the cost of Italy. It was used all around Europe on horseback and on foot. It was used as a ceremonial weapon as well. The Ranseur was good at jamming and causing a awkward lock with other weapons and could needle it's way through some slots in armor. It's length and weight also made good for keeping people away.
- The Lugs or hooks near the blade could also come in a more lengthy version closer to a trident.
- The Ranseur would stop being used around the 16th century.

> Says he'll do that weapon thing
> Doesn't keep up with it.
I drew a bunch of this hunter I made though.

I dunno what to name her really. I got Moth as a recommendation which I liked a lot. I've been pretty on about drawing her. It's fun to do all the little frills and I've been working with ink a bit more which is always nice.

28KLCWH.jpg

Here's a bonus bell dude. Found him flipping through my sketch book, guess I forgot about drawing him. My original idea was to use them as NPCs for a DND campaign. They'd have higher Con but low Dex. I may bring them up latter. I have a whole lay out of the different sub-races of bells.

Here's some sketches and another thing I did.
SeyeJqR.png

I cut it out after messing up the outline.

tbfXCwd.png

Sketching. Probably gonna name her Stella

4ISU6uD.png

Here's another. Woah

I've been digging more into a lot of different designs and other artisy stuff and I really liked a lot of floral arts. They're pretty cool for background or just in a frame.

Somthing I did really quick. Trying out different patterns.

SCcfLIy.jpg

I still need a lot of practice with these bastards. Honestly I need to just work on refining my art to look cleaner. It would make it look 100000x betterer.

LQOYhex.jpg

This was the first thing I tried the flower design on. I did the Lumens from BB

More, second one of these I tried out. I really liked how it came out The flowers are nice.

I got a new, smaller sketchbook recently and I've been trying to do a sketch a day. So here's some random pages or parts from the past week or so.

Also while we're here lemme introduce you to my favorite pen, a Bic ballpoint blue pen. I've been trying to only sketch and draw in pen since I got the sketchbook and It's been sorta helping. It's makes you think more about the next line you're gonna draw. It's like the AP homework of sketching.

Also here's the last few parts of that one character I drew a bunch. I haven't done much with them since.
This was also like two weeks ago I believe.

Also this guy, he's pretty cool.

This one was today. I've been doing some quick designs of characters for a new 5e Campaign I'm gming. I was thinking a name like Kéal or Júel for her.

Edit* Oh shit, we at Page 2 now bb

I love this stuff man, your style is really neat, beautifully comic-booky.

If you ever want to take on the challenge of drawing a 7ft reindeer man is a jester outfit, you now have it.
(Also, in your sketch did you intentionally draw 2/3 adventure zone characters? They looked like Merle and Magnus :o)

Here you go chief. Funnily enough I had more trouble with the alior than I did with the url. But thanks! It was somthing quick for me to do this morning. And no! I didn't even think about those two that day, I was going after a more western aesthetic when drawing characters. I have seen a few videos of them though.
