To House Sorenvik,
It's a rare occasion a act of a Noble House can unite Celates across schisms as effectively as this matter has affected my agreement with the Atheosian Celacy, but there is a day for everything. These policies are quite in contradiction to not just the Emperor's stance but the stance the Jarless Sorenvik makes with the Theological Society: That all should be free to discover faith for themselves without coercion.
To examine the policies
- Parents may only teach children Unionism if they are Unionist.
- Contradiction to a "Children may choose their own faith" for a child can't explore a faith which their community isn't allowed to teach them. This policy would keep supportive parents, embodying Lensa and Theomar's teaching of parenthood, from supporting a child's interest in Unionism. Even Unigost unionists, whom proclaim the old gods as alive and divinely made, are now barred from teaching these quite compatible beliefs to a neighbor's child (regardless of that child's desire to learn them).
- Unionist parents who teach children about Unionism must also teach them Old Gods.
- Again contradiction to "Children may choose their own faith" for while it's quite possible for a child to find interest in both the Old Gods and Unionism. What shall be done if they decided to be unionist alone? The policy does not account for allowing this chosen education in its current form or for the embitterment forcing a child to learn a unchosen religion will create.
- Children may choose their own faith.
- This should've been where the policy began and ended for this brings no contradiction to Imperial Stance and is a freedom all children should be afforded. Everyone young and old should be free to choose what path brings them meaning without a being overruled or coerced.
- Missionaries remain banned because of political reasons.
- Whilst this policy represents a significant restriction upon allowing Celates to tend to the faithful and shouldn't have been instated only for political reasons. If there was no restriction to private administration of the faith and the right of pre-existing Celeries to continue ,administering Unionist minorities, than this would be a problematic but manageable policy. Considered beside the first two policies, it becomes a almost insulting method to emphasize the religious intolerance of these policies. It's understandable to fear perhaps one unionist sect or schism, which may cause instability due to conflicting belief, but to ban all of Schisms and Sects of Unionism from Unigost to Dogmatic, Thyemic to Silvershroud is a harmful rejection of ever allowing these beliefs to be chosen by the populace.
While the Atheosian Celacy has chosen to keep its recourse to themselves for now. I publish this work to inform those affected in the North and fellow dogmatic across the Empire that they shall have full support for the Buy-Unionist initative within
Sorenvik lands. For it's House Sorenvik's decision to undertake this policy with the support of parts of its population, and thus should not be a reason for wider backlash or action against those of Northern, Old Gods, or any other demographic which makes up the lands population because these groups are not to blame it's House Sorenvik who created these policies. And it's through economic power
not physical that we shall hope to induce the House to reflect and alter its policies, through further conversation with the Celates within wider Aloria and Regalia.
To all those within Sorenvik Lands, your right to religion is your own but it's a right afforded to all from majority to minority provided their religion is not in conflict with the law. Let people practice as they wise and let each child be exposed to diverse faith so they might decide their calling themselves.
May he watch over all and may Juvin bless all who teach others,
