Most of us learn right from wrong when we are young. Some of us learn it when we are older. Fewer of us continue to learn right from wrong throughout our lives. And even fewer than that do some never learn at all.

To protect the innocent and defenseless is righteous, to bring harm to the innocent and defenseless is a wrongdoing.

Her Grace, Duchess Aleksandra Dragic of House Dragic, has failed to adhere to the most apparent expectations: to protect the innocent and defenseless residing in her lands. One of the duties of a ruler, a guide, a leading example, is to do what you would want others to do for, with, or alongside you. Unfortunately, her moral compass stops short of allowing her cultural hatred to take the reins with fists made of rot. Perhaps I am wrong. Rather than her common sense being the issue, it is the morality she lacks. A character that should have guided her away from openly supporting the Oprichnyy.

I don't blame you if you do not know who the Oprichnyy are. I was just the same before I jammed myself down the rabbit hole of understanding why this elusive group deserved the openly declared support of her Grace Dragic. What perplexed me was why there are rumors that this group has unjustly captured a record number of magic users in Krainivaya territory and Dragic-supervised lands. I researched them to the best of my ability, only to find very little information. Instead, reports of children ripped from their mother's arms if the young shows signs of early magic inclination. Should this be true, is the Duchess openly supporting unlawful kidnapping, genocide, and gods only know what else? The answer to that question lies in the history of the Krainivaya themselves. They despise magic because of a one-hundred-thirty-year-old grudge against their people who resorted to magic to best them. Five Ailor generations of hatred toward innocent men and women, girls and boys.

Some of you may question this page in its entirety. You might be unsure why this matters or if I'm even telling the truth. It matters because I know so many of you are magically inclined, be it sorcerer or mage, commoner or noble, performer or mercenary. So many of you that would be targeted not only by the Oprichnyy but by an emboldened Oprichnyy were you even to step foot within Dragic's borders. Their actions are endorsed by those in power, reminiscent of groups that sour our tongues when spoken. I'm sure all of you can think of at least one radical movement or another throughout our Empire's history which caused nothing but mayhem and destruction.

If the topic of morality isn't something you wish to read about, then I'll instead move onto the topic of legality:

The de Azcoissia Chancellory Decree 14-2 of January 29th, 310 A.C. states:
"(New) Empire-Wide Ordinance: The collaring or otherwise unjust detainment of (Non-Apostacy) Occult individuals for the purposes of identification is illegal."

Your Grace, if morality cannot stop you from making decisions that impede on your own people's right to live peacefully, then what can? The law? Will you continue to apologize to me, a nobleman who's lands are halfway across the world, or the people you have sworn to protect and care for when you took the title Duchess of Kyizamok?
________________________________________________________________________
I am the voice of those who do not have one. I am the voice of those captured by the Oprichnyy. I am the voice of those who have experienced violence against them because of their inclination toward magic. And I hereby hold accountable House Dragic for their failures and shortcomings, for we are as good as we excuse and accept as right and wrong.

Signed,
Sol Laerilas Maslodeen Valloaan Bel-Sol Solleria-Tol Haag
Duke of Morrlondasseiavasso

A certain Yanar by the name of Alexa Haaven was seated in the main lounge area of the Litvinova Estate. Opened up the parchment, as she started to read her expression showed a hint of concern. Which quickly turned into almost alarm. Eyes widening slightly all the while as she let out a somewhat shuddered breath. Glancing over towards Acelina who sat next to her, passing her the paper. Before hesitantly asking in a somewhat low, yet confused voice.

"What... Do you think of this? One couldn't be so cruel.. Can they? Over a grudge for magic?"

A Celate reads this and growls. And writes

It is many a time that Dogmatic Unionists have had to live under fear and repulsion of magic. The Oprichnyy operates itself under the nobles and in supposed good for the Dogmatic belief but House Dragic should recall. This is no longer the days of the Inquisition, where the Temples became places of secret enforcers and corruptive mortals believing themselves divinely anointed to commit unlawful acts. The Oprichnyy may at times truly serve the Unionist intent to protect the world from the demonic influences but more often then not. It's operating outside the sight of the Emperor or Celates beyond its land. It should not be openly endorsed for rounding up children and innocents whom commit no crimes.

Not all can help being born abberant or occult for these there is Hero Gregory. A shining example of how even those cursed with inborn occultism can serve unionism, for those who can choose to have it or not to have it is sin. But sin even of this kind does not merit death or imprisonment for mere existence, the duty of Celates is to guide people from the wrong path and to reveal the mercy, the reward which comes from serving their empire.

House Dragic has made the open decision to stand beside a organization perhaps legal in it own lands but whom do not share favor in all. I am a firm Dogmatic, I have a firm belief against occultism but I do not stand for watching a peer be so cavalier about people removed from the Imperial beusrcracy and Law enforcement. Enforcing the desires, even the religiously backed desires, of Nobles to hunt down fellow regalians without any assurance they shall not commit illegal punishment.

By Almar, my holy patron this action of endorsing a organization which extrajudicially hunts down innocents without mercy or consideration of the Law. Shows House Dragic in need of re-examining just how justified their decision was and in need of council. For even fervent Dogmatics must remember the Emperor's own words upon such matters and understand the consequences of their actions.

May he watch over all,
Atum Morathes
