It's come to my attention that some are excusing the actions of the Inquisition because their efforts are to eliminate the "Kathar problem." That this entire race is full of the vilest beings ever to walk Aloria, and that every single one of them is rotten to the core.

I have a few questions to propose to you, the citizens of Regalia.

Are all Ailor the same?

Are all Varran the same?

Are all Altalar the same?

Are all Dwarves the same?

The obvious answer is no. So why does this not apply to Kathar? Our personalities are not defined by our race. They are defined by our upbringing, the environment we grow up in, the people we meet, and the education we receive. There are many horrible and no-good Ailor, and there are many Kathar who have good intentions and simply want to live their lives in peace.

You may ask the question, "Then why are most crimes in Regalia committed by Kathar?" And the answer is quite simple: stereotypes. They are constantly put into a box of being criminals and bloodthirsty maniacs. They are pushed into the underbelly of Regalia and are left with no choice but to join up with their kin. Now, I am not excusing any crimes some Kathar have committed in the past. Though I do believe instead of tarring and feathering them as punishment, we try to reform them. When you laugh at a Kathar being publicly punished and therefore humiliate them, do you think that'll make them turn away from crime? No! If anything it perpetuates the idea that all Ailor are evil beings in their heads and then pushes them further into a life of crime. I ask the various guard charters and those willing to help them become upstanding citizens. Without the use of psychological or physical torture, I'd like to add, as I know some love to jump to when they get the chance.

Another suggestion I have for all the citizens of Regalia is easy to follow. Form your opinion on another because of their personality, not because of their race. It shouldn't be too hard to practice this.

To close this message, I am by no means arguing against the Inquisition's efforts to get rid of the werebeast and vampire population. They are justified for that. However, their hunt for Kathar is not.

Sincerely,
Elysmae Wynhana

P.S - Hunt me down and arrest me for speaking my mind if you wish, but it'll decrease the little respect Old Town Citizens give you.

A man would read the post, scoffing as he showed it to the rest of the members of the Divine Commission.
"Until they understand that the Kathar is a simple nothing, then I will feel settled in my position. Kathar are vile, vitriolic, and wildly unimportant. They are creatures of the void and the rubbish that we will walk on until they accept. They are the aftereffect of a previous life of disworship and deserve to be punished in all of our power. Ave."

Wulf would look upon the poster and mutter to himself "Huh. By this point it seems like race war is closer and closer. I hope that both sides lose." and he would wonder along

Sadia pursed her normally curved lips together as her eyes fell on the notice. The tailor rested a long, red fingernail against the parchment, tapping it with each long second that passed. "Dear, dear, dear, it seems things really have gotten out of hand. How about we deal with those rift monsters before anything that may not matter if we don't?" She let out a small sigh, removing her calloused yet elegant hand from the post.

A small note would be nailed into a board beneath one of the papers.

"Then its Heresy. - Abelhard Latimer."

A Shadow looked over the words, their red gaze seemed heavily bothered.
"Someone is standing up for us?"
They read it over again, utterly surprised. A flash of hope shining in their red eyes, before it quickly faded away.
"No one has stood up for us in years..I should't get my hopes up either. It'll just be shut down by the end of the week. Nothing will ever change, things always stay the same. There isn't hope anymore for my race or me..."
They turned to look at the masked cultist standing next to them. Seeming hopeless.
"Don't be so unsure, you never know if things could change or not. I have seen many things change that seemed impossible to begin with. Perhaps this is just the start of a new possible era, another example of that."
"Do you really think its possible? That my race, that we, that I. Could one day be accepted into civilized society? And no longer need to live as criminals?"
"Now that, I have no answer to, only time will really tell."

Two figures sit in armchairs by a roaring fireplace, whiskey glasses held by either one of them as the pair discuss current events. At one point, one of them comes across this one. Percival wheezes and hits his fist against the arm of his seat, chuckling heartily as he tosses the news of the post onto Ulric's lap. He didn't need to say anything, and just the greying man just continued to laugh and shake his head, looking positively tickled by what he read, and could only lift his whiskey to his lips for a sip.

Wolfgang peered at the letter on his desk as he sat down for the start of a long day's work, his mood had changed from yesterday, free from stress as he had accepted something... something different. Regardless sat he did, pulling open the oak drawer of his desk and removing an ornate whiskey-glass with a small bottle of Crimson Whiskey, pouring the contents inside before placing the said bottle on the table.

Taking a small sip, he peered down and scanned the letter; tutting slightly,

Well at the very least, Frau Wynhana has stated her name at the end of such a filthy rag of a letter- I must commend her bravery a the very least. Still the populace seem to misunderstand, the Inquisition is not here to kill Kathar. Our focus is simply to cleanse this city of Void-worship and aberrants, which in turn requires us to crush the Jacobin ideals that have permitted such vile creatures to be permitted to walk on the surface unjudged.

My only issue with Kathar is that they don't know their place. Our grand Emperor has permitted Civil Status Laws that legally class these vermin as inferior- animals. Yes these things are animals, and are to be treated as such. When a dog barks, you whack it with a rolled up
Imperial Times and send it to the kennel. When a Kathar barks you slap it once upon cheek and should it retaliate show it to a different type of kennel. It's a simple process, but one that has been so neglected in these recent years that they believe themselves worthy to be treated like the rest of us.

I cringe to even think of living in a world where such animals would breed with us, work alongside us as equal, govern us. No, the Holy Divine Inquisition has been formed to combat such Jacobin ideals and to prevent the good citizens of the
Holy City from such vermin, what Frau Elysmae Wynhana proposes will no doubt tarnish any chance at a decent life for all good law abiding Ailor Unionists and bring ruin to this world.
Wolfgang then blinked as he glanced down to the whiskey- how much had he drank, why was he talking to himself- why was this person advocating for the rights of slugs? Wolfgang wearily poured the rest of the whiskey out the window and placed the bottle back in the drawer, unsure if he was even awake right now, or in some kind of nightmare.

Anika came across the parchment and read it over as her mouth slightly dropped open at their stupidity, "What the void am I looking at. Brave you are but you are simply as dumb as a rock." she then continued her walk to the stronghold, perhaps lost some brain cells from reading the parchment in her mind.

Ibrahim stared at the page on the board for some time, and even as a few others passed by with their scoffs and remarks, he stood and pondered. A few thoughts came to him, memories of the past here and there, but he wasn't sure what to make of them. He remembered facing the monstrous Dread Kathar on the battlefield, he'd condemned Void Worship in absolute as was his responsibility as Grand Imam and personal obligation to himself, but what of the Regalian Kathar themselves? What of those who might be redeemed, if they could be? Perhaps Regalia had softened him, he didn't know if this would even be a question back home.

Letting out a small sigh, Ibrahim reached out to take a copy of the letter for himself to put in his coat pocket. He needed to have a conversation with this Elysmae Wynhana, assuming she hadn't been taken by the Inquisition at this point.
