Ok... so, I'm Extremely P*ssed off right now.
I log on... and all my beds have been destroyed.... so I can't leave my home. They were destroyed by someone I've never met nor heard of before. They were merely doing it as an act of pure nastiness.
They left a hole in my wall.
Stole my enchanting table.
Destroyed all my beds, for god knows what reason.
and I tell an admin...
"It's sabotage. It's aloud."
...
ok... so... I don't have any wool... I can't make a bed... If I leave my home, it's a 4000 block journey to get there...
What. The. F***. Have I Done. To deserve this?

I get a little angry, and get muted from help chat. Which is fine, it stopped me flaming, so I'm cool wiv' dat.

But then, I get a pm, TAUNTING ME.
TAUNTING.
What the Hell!!!???!!!

What the hell is wrong with all you people? You Nasty, Horrible, Inconsiderate, Bullies.
F***ing Bullies.

I'm trying to be F***ing NICE to people FFS!

So please, Post in this forum, telling me, what the F*** have I done wrong? (Aside from the rping as a thief 2 and a 1/2 months ago )

(Just to get this out the way: APEX, the guy who messaged me, is a guy, who I stole from, 2 and a 1/2 months ago, using my thief roleplay character. I offered him his stuff back, and he swore, taunted, and called me a troll OOC ¬_¬ I've went from Thief, to Butler, To Guard, To Monk, To Arrogant Orc, to Just myself now (Being Nice To Everyone) And he still has a f***ing grudge against me? Oh Grow Up ffs. )

Although, the issue's been sorted out now, and I'm kinda happy :) I look forward to the next pr*ck who shows up when I'm afk, or offline -_-

well... the taunting was unnecessary... but the rest can be understood as sabotage, it is rude, but it happens... never happened to me, but it could've

I think at this point, your best choice would be to join a faction. I'd suggest one that take forum applications as they are more often stable, and less likely to steal your things. It's tough, really tough, to live in the wilderness alone. Everyone who passes by sees you as a ripe opportunity to raid. And even though griefing is against the rules, it is still a serious problem.

If the player who PM'd you continues to harass you, you can report them.

There is not much I can add here, because the important things are already said.
If you want to live in the wilderness you should prepare yourself and your fortress - and yes it has to be a frortress to be a safe place no matter what it looks like.^^
  • Build a fake house over your underground base.
  • Hide important entrances.
  • Build less than five minutes away from spawn or blimps if you want your items back when you die(Items decay after five minutes, except if the chunk is unloaded)
  • griefers will come, as well as raiders - be prepared to repair and improve your house
  • don't forget to protect your chests, valuable blocks, enchantment tables,... (place a trapdoor with a sign on the block you want to protect)
  • You can also build some traps if you like to tease raiders (death pits are not allowed, but well placed dispensers and such thing should be fine too^^)
I hope I haven't forgotten other useful things, but these tips should help you a bit.^^

Owen Kearns apparently he cant be a bit sensitive considering this is his favorite server and all of these things happened to him. Unfortunately, it IS only sabotage, but joining a nice, well built faction would be a smart idea, considering only the faction members can break your things, and they most likely wont. To that Apex guy... I don't even have an excuse for THAT kid. Apparently some roleplay means he can set out for revenge for 2 months. I actually want to put apex straight with how bad he looks right now from these posts.

Still it's a game, if losing something in a game causes you real life grief .. You're not mentally steeled enough to play online in my opinion.

Or, how about this. You stop whining about getting stolen from, and deal with it like everybody else on massivecraft. You don't start crying about it, you work to fix what he messed up, OR you hunt him down and murder him until he gives you your stuff back, like me :D

You probably didn't deserve what happpend but it was your fault for
a. Not being in a faction or at least one that was protected.
b. Not deadbolting your enchantmenttable.
and c. not having back up materials.
Now the taunting was not justified but the stealing and breaking of beds happens all the time and you should just move on. I was in my little house in the wilderness one day and some dude broke into my house and repeatably spawn killed me then left and came back a day later and did it again. You know what I did? I worked it out with the person. And now when we see each other we talk like friends. So seriously just move on and learn from your mistakes...

You may be the type of person who tries to get something back via being as bad as the person who took it from you in the first place, but I am not ¬_¬

Yeah, you've seriously got me confused with someone else. I've never acted like a big gangster, or swore in a 'I'm trying to act cool via swearing' way :l

You should really join a faction, they can protect you, but noone deserves to be treated like that with no apparent reason..

Living alone in the wilderness can be a challenge. I know, I did it for my first few weeks of massive. I never had this particular problem, probably only because the house I was living in was surrounded by dozens of other houses, abandoned and empty and well griefed. However, things like this are the hazard of living this lifestyle. You have to deal with it when bad things happen, not rage in help and general chat, then post how you hate it on the forums. The person who sent you the taunt, that was indeed uncalled for. If he does it more then once, you can complain to the admins and staff about it. But the sabotage in the first place, use the Hawkeye tool, find out who did it, and deal with it yourself. Killing him until he returns it is not being like him, and it is a perfectly reasonable thing to do. That is not the only solution however. The two reactions that are least likely to get your stuff back, or even any sympathy, is to rage about it in general chat, and post threads on the forum about it, that if I were an admin, I would label as flaming. You should make a more secure house, nothing in the wilderness is 100% secure, period. But it can definitely be more secure. And if you don't want this to happen at all, join a faction. They tend to prevent such things. Or save your pennies and buy your own faction for the purpose of protecting your stuff. These are all good things to do, that you might even get some more help for. But something like this thread, is useless and will increase your reputation as 1: An easy target for the future, and 2: As some immature person who can't control their emotions over a video game. Whether or not either of these are true.

He tried to act Like a Big Gangster at me, then now he is like a little ---- crying

I absolutely love how you say "This idiot is cussing and acting like a gangster to me" and then you say;
"Then now he is like a little ---- crying"...
You say he's an idiot for scolding you and calling you many cursed words, and then you start worrying about those words. .___. Interesting topic, I suppose.
Jack The Unseen = Anyways, for you to really say all this is a bit understandable, as him taunting you adds it worse. Sure fellas, anyone can say "Brush it off and keep going, sticks and stones..." well, words really DO hurt, especially when it comes to that guy taunting him. APEX simply could not keep his mouth shut and leave this alone, and to really say, Jack really wouldn't be so worried if APEX hadn't taunted him about it. I know I'm lowly, but even I don't do that.
And saying even I don't do something like that. That's rough. .___.

Honestly, if you can't take taunting, you shouldn't be playing on massivecraft.

Guys, be at least a bit nice to the guy. Your telling me that you guy have never raged over something similar to this? We all have at one time or another so show the guy some empathy.

Jack The Unseen Truthfully, it can be hard living out in the wilderness, ik, but there are many ways to hide your self, or you could just as easily join a faction :) Also, the taunting......is unacceptable.....you could easily hire someone to go hunt him down....maybe break his beds....make him rage a bit, ja?

My personal chicken farm has been griefed twice by people. Once by a stranger and once by someone in my faction who left. I don't think you did anything to deserve this but karma doesn't exist anyway, good people have bad things and good things happen to them, bad people cheat their way into getting good things.

Totally worth it being good though :D (Note I was a noob and have griefed once before but I felt extremely bad even though I didn't do more than harvest some nether wart. I am sorry if whoever I did this too reads this.

I tried to do that with the guy who attacked me whilst I was afk on my other forum, and he backstabbed me and took my god bow ¬_¬

Well there is a limit. If someone does do something like that to you you don't give him access to all your stuff, I mean seriously...

The problem is of human nature itself and unique personalities. The way you were raised. Some people were raised by different personalities, surrounded by different environments, even affected by different influences. This is why some are more aggressive and violent, while others are passive and friendly.

It's not their fault, you must remember that. Maybe they did it to their group of friends, and he thought it was ok to you.

Going further on the matter of rudeness, there will always be these kind of people in real life, in the virtual existence, and even other dimensions. However, you must ignore the bad things and keep track of the good things. Enjoy them, and cherish them while they lasted. It's hard to ignore what one nublet said and did to you, but if you surround yourself with friends in your company, you'll feel a lot better, the pain will pass quickly, and all will be forgotten and forgiven. Maybe you two will become friends in the future, and the possibilities are endless. :)

Jack The Unseen - While I've never had my all of my beds destroyed I have had people grief me. I usually get them banned. Or I spread the word of what they do and within a few days/weeks everyone hates them. It good to be loved haha. If you want to join a faction that is friendly and willing to send a claim line out to your house contact me, Hisoka is always happy to help :)

-destroys everything Grailen has ever built and then insults him- In my defense you did lead the faction that indirectly caused me to leave Osai. It's just revenge. >:) But on a more serious note I've been choked up before over things and I think that if someone destroyed Mechbank I would cry, rage, and then keep harassing them until I was permbanned from Massivecraft. I know the feeling of seeing things you build destroyed, it's not a pleasant one, and I can understand why someone would be distraught enough to cry over it.

You'd really expect after all long_live_HIM, you'd like to see;
"Hello, welcome to the server"
"Hey wassup, wanna RP?"
"Here, lemme help you with that."
"Sure, we're here to help!"
Not this...
"I'm glad someone finally put you in your place. :)"
After all, this server is quite good to be on, it's common sense not to be a d*ck to someone, but as you apparently insisted, we can expect anyone/everyone to be mean on Massivecraft.
Because no offence, but that is what that sentence means. It perhaps is not what you intend to imply, but anyone reading it could think you mean otherwise.

The thing usually stuck in my head is knowing that the things done in game are in game, but the person who did is dead real.

Everyone says join a fac it's better and you are safer well I have been through 5 fac and I hate it most of the time the people are nice and try to help but it get very boring even if you are like Jack the unseen and live in a small house and fishes for a living. Once you join a fac most of the time you will get caught up in war or a political campaign and it just gets annoying after awhile.

Im going to have to strongly disagree with you strongly on this, alot of the times how someone is raised has nothing to do with it, ive seen plenty of people who were raised in tons of abuse and poor parenting skills grow up to be kind successful people, and Ive seen many people whom parents raised them the "right" way with tons of rules and regulations, and a loving family, grow up to be murderers and rapists, some people are just normally bad people, not entirely how you are raised, im not saying that how you are raised has no effect, im just saying that its not always the case.

You should join Hisoka some time - while we do have certain downsides (like taxes, a future feature of Hisoka because we need to pay off faction projects and I'm sick of doing it myself haha) we are pretty much a "go for it" faction within peaceful bounds (sorry, no warring here!) with few real limits beyond individual town lords and the server rules dictate. For the most part the rules are "Don't build there, that's taken" "Don't destroy that, you didn't make it" and "you idiot, why'd you steal all the wool from that chest?" :P

Or maybe some *Cough* people should stop acting that way. But that thought probably never struck you, did it?

I never taunt people, unless they started taunting me first. I was just saying that taunting is extremely common on massivecraft, and you should just use the magical command of "/ignore"
