The Viridian Times
~ Issue 1 ~
Interview With Grailen Warith on the Viridian Crusade:

Who Compromises this Crusade?
Our cause is a collective of several factions who have banded together to do the greater good. Among them are the People of Viridia, Auxillian and Chronitkar along with the Ghiscari Pirates and the noblemen of Avignon, among many others.

What caused this Crusade to come into being?
The Viridian Crusade was made by several nations who felt that the ways of Osai and Alamut had grown away from their original goals. Alamut in particular has grown to large and too powerful that it regularly abused its power on others, in particular, the poor people of Consortium who were sieged constantly till many of their people nearly died of starvation. The continuation of these factions would be detrimental to the whole realm if we had allowed them to continue.

Where do you see yourself in a year?
Within the Year we hope to have seen this evil cleansed of Aloria and all the members returning to a more Peaceful lifestyle until the Realm is threatened once more.

How do you manage to keep the morale of your troops up?
We maintain our morale in various manners from post battle merrymaking to the natural Jovial atmosphere our members have as well as the piece of mind in knowing we're making the realm a better place.

Do you ever fear for the well being of yourself given that these Alamutians are well known for Assassinations?
I have to admit that this thought has crossed my mind before but I fear not for my death. Even if I die, the Crusade shall battle on for what is right in Aloria and in the end, the righteous shall rule

Any closing thoughts for your readers in Regalia?
I'd just like to say to them that as long as they do no harm to the cause they have naught to fear from the Crusade. Although the Viridian Crusade may seem foreign to them, we fight for the people of Aloria and will die before the realm is further tainted by evil.

The Regalia Report:

The Crimsons Return!

The Crimson Inquisition, saviors of Regalia from the Vampiric disease, have returned yet again to once again combat vampires in addition those loyal or supporting of the vampires. While many rejoice the return after several weeks of horrible and brutal killings from vampires, many remain skeptical. To those who remain 'on the fence' about the Crimson Inquisition I say this… If you are loyal to and have love for this city ofRegaliathen you should have no question in your heart about the Crimsons who have so faithfully defended Regalia. Without the Crimson, I fear that Regalians would once again have to walk through the streets at night in fear of those who hide in the dark and feed on human flesh and blood. In fact, it seems almost absurd to see people now cry for the sanctity of a vampire's life when not to long ago they cried for the immediate investigation and slaughter of all those associated with vampirism.
I digress but I must say this, that if you are loyal and care for those with vampirism or even have the disease ye self then may your soul be damned for all eternity to the darkest depths of the Nether or whatever evil place ye came from. As Editor of this fine Newspaper I call for no vampire being spared in this Inquisition!
The World Report:

Algaron Yields to the Viridian Crusade!

In a moment of truly remarkable diplomacy, the men of Algaron and the Viridian Crusade have managed to come to terms to solve their conflict. Both sides agreed that they would be much better off without the constant warring and fighting and with peace they shall both prosper. With Algaron no longer aligned to the Assassins of Alamut rumors have spread that soon the Viridians will attack the evil at it's core, at the Citadel of Alamut. For those who have yet to hear of this Citadel, it is rumored to have never fallen into enemy control but as many more soldiers fill the ranks of the Viridians it would seem as if the end days for Alamut are near…

The Poet Corner:
Of War Mongers and Pacifists:
The meek and weak say war is ever so bleak
Why, it is so full of sadness, you might die
They dream of the day where warriors have a sense of right and wrong
In a world where everyone can get along
The strong wish the war would stretch along
The clash of steel as warriors cut and slash
An abhorrence of peace they make sure
Their confidence and strength, they need not reassure
To be tough and rough is but a bluff
All men die, it is but a matter of when and why
Your heart and soul are after all not so pure
Don't fret however, for nothing will endure
For everything shall fade and become obscure..
Comets in the Night:
Life is all that is bright and white
A comet on a moonlit night
Never to stay longer than a single flight
A Comet lives for the sake of living
For their shall be no shriving1
Be happy, least thy youth start diving
Wisdom is to age as age is to wisdom
Leave thy serfdom and seek freedom
For the only true realm is thy God's Kingdom

The phrases "Our cause is a collective of several factions who have banded together to do the greater good" and "along with the Ghiscari Pirates" do not make any sense. :P

I don't believe you have made yourself acquainted with the men of Ghiscari. While they do raid and pillage they are some of the most honorable men you will ever meet and know when to sacrifice a little less plunder for the sake of all of Aloria.

Some of the most honorable men you will ever meet? No honor comes from hosting a brothel, enslaving the weak and innocent, and very offensive weapon names.

As I said they raid, pillage and enjoy some 'frowned upon' activities but never the less they stay true to their word.

Never the less, please keep this topic free from flame wars and focused on the newspaper

Says the man who died with weapons mocking my speech impediment.

There isn't an appropriate rating to give your post, nor do I feel I can describe my sentiment. I was bullied a lot from middle school till the end of my freshman year of highschool. All I can really say is Bullies suck, and you're awesome, no matter what anyone says (I had to tell myself this a lot).

Back on topic! Bsavs, this was extremely well written, and I enjoyed it immensely. Will you continue these even after the crusade is over? I hope you do!

Uhm thanks lol I really don't care all that much I just wanted to point out the Hypocrisy.

I welcome the Crimsons to do what they please with Regalia, so long as they leave me alone. - Mr. Paloin

Glad the Crimsons came back, everyone in the Viridian Crusade should die for attacking my old faction, RAGE, nah, jk brah :P But seriously, I dislike the Crusade. A lot. - Mecharic

Ya I have some pretty good ideas for the paper so it should be fun to continue. Once I get more books and quills Ill start handing out in game copies as well

I'm sorry you have this sentiment, perhaps one day we can talk more and gain another comrade or at least lose an enemy.

I am happy bout the Crimsons coming back. Makes life interesting and that's what we need. So whiny vampire **** off.

Aye to that (nod)

Completely forgetting the fact that this news paper is all opinionated and one-sided, it's not to bad, well not so much the paper but the interview for sure. But really, all I see are the same old fights and the same old conflicts just reignited. On a side note-" Alamoot iz corript an nedz to stp".:D

It is decently well made, just like Commanderkull said, but its saying some stuff that's been being said for the past forever. If this was on a rp paper, it would be quite enjoyable actually. Also, to just keep saying the same factions are corrupt over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, there will be at least one person who doesn't know any better that could possibly start a flame, in threads like these.

Grail you have won +1 respect for saying you guys was foreign. You are right in the fact due to nobody has seen something this big since well. The elf and dwarf great empires.

Finally! Someone happy that the Crimson Inquisition is back! Also, if you need a investigative reporter, I'm up for it ;). Great job on the paper though! :D

You raid Algaron, You raid Osai, but.. wait.. YOU NO RAID ALAMUT!?
Alamut probably will not go to fight outside of their castle when approached. Plus, built upon a snowy mountain, it makes it hard to reach. Osai and Algaron have level fighting ground and not as many defenses, plus they don't put up as much resistance and get slaughtered easily without Alamut's help.

Saying the same faction are corrupt over over? There are 918 words in this Newspaper article . The second section of the interview is the only section that alludes to corruption and that contains 81 words. So essentially you are complaining abot 8.82% of the newspaper which is marginal indeed.

In conclusion, this is a newspaper. While it is meant to inform and entertain it's readers it is biased by the writer ((bandit)) as all newspapers are. So while you may have a strong opinion for or against something stated, please keep it to yourself while on the forums or in the very least post a counter argument that is well thought out and eloquent. If you do indeed wish to debate this further you'll probably be able to find me in Regalia selling these papers.

On another note, did you all enjoy the poems? What sort of literary work would you like to see in the future? Or perhaps a crossword as one user mentioned.

While many of you seem either very excited about this or rather flustered and angry I hope you all stay tuned for the next issue, I will be making sure to keep in mind the many suggestions that have been made such as roleplay-ish old paper.

Yes, I did actually enjoy the poems, and it was very organized, It's just the 100th time I've seen the word "corrupt" from the viridian crusade, And there wasn't really a need to go to much into it's percentage of being said in the newspapers, but good job. A crossword would actually be pretty cool, Maybe even a "Funnies" (comics) Section would be pretty epic.

I'd like to apoligize to my allies for the decitions i made. My innocent citizens and peasants have been slaughtered badly for quite some time now by the Crusade. Algaron has no strenght to support you, and i have to think of Algarons survival.

For the next issue I'll be sure to include comics and other entertainment to lighten the mood :D

If you would like to receive an in game copy of this and future issues just send me a mail

As a matter of fact, Osai has basically quit the server. But that's not a success yet, they still want Alamoot gone. But ghiscari has honorable men for sure so I think you shouldn't trash them.

Please actually read every post before making a flamish and, to be frank, childish remark. As to your remark about joining the Crusade if Ghiscari is kicked out I laugh. I would never want to fight nor even be associated with someone as rude and insulting as you. Now as I've asked for repeatedly, if you have a problem either voice it in a well thought out manner or do it in game.

Nay, you had the courage to do what so many men are too full of pride to do, for that I think you should continue to hold your head high as you walk down the streets of your beautiful city.

Gonna be honest, I want to see a fight between the best of Alamut an the best of the Crusade, in a stadium without any territorial advantages and using no pots or apples of any sort. Just a flat out kill dem all fight. Oh, even numbers.
