Anyone unfortunate enough to occupy the same space as the halfling for more than a few minutes will find his [ problem solving spirit ] far from sated. In fact, one might think he throws himself into issues, personal and technical alike, with the sole purpose of trying to solve them. Looking on the bright side, however, Elijah is [ efficient ] in what he does, and [ will not settle ] for something subpar if he knows he can do or obtain better. Self Worth | A Never Ending Project An internal betrayer. On the outside, Elijah shows aspects of a star apostle. With a [ strong memory ], knack for creation, and being a [ dutiful recorder ] of information. On the inside, he knows the guidelines which he is to meet as a follower of Varos Kir, and as free as the form of religion is, the expectancy makes him [ feel trapped ] within it. Despite the following being open to those of Silven descendance, prejudice and ignorance have created a fissure in the halfling’s want to help the many. Above all, that prejudice has brewed [ spite ] in him that drives him to fight harder and rise higher. Familial Pedestals | Pairs of Convenient Hands To those who find themselves in close company with Elijah will find three words frequently leaving his lips, “Always and forever.” He is [ by no means entirely loyal ] to friends, regardless of how close they become to him, but [ family will always come first ] in the line of who he assists. Those he favors outside of familial bond, however, will find [ a certain charm ], [ a more intimate touch ]. He’s [ wholly genuine ], only it’s not always willing to be backed up with his own blood. Moral Compass | The Wayward Soul Being [ a creator ], an apostle of the Varos Kir, Elijah has one allegiance, [ to rise ]. However, where the Narathim he follows seek to better the world and create a foundation for all to succeed, his interest is more for himself. A [ neutral evil ], of sorts, where [ self importance ] and [ greed ], the [ crave to be owed and stand above ], is a splintering crack in his morality. In learning to strive to rise, he’s taken enjoyment in watching others fall. Elijah, though, refuses to admit or show this side of himself, often covering it up with white lies and general omission of information. Childhood Ell’aen Caos’ajela, the younger brother to Ell’avel’lajja, was born in the Corontium region of the Yang-Tzu Isles to Siiris of the Pelinelion tribe and a Common Dynasty Sihai named Ju-lan who was acting as her consort at the time. As a child of a long running member of the Narathim, Ell’aen was brought up in the shadow of his older sister. Watching, and learning from the sideline when his mother wasn’t guiding him. Being the youngest benefited him greatly, it showed him how to be a crucial part in a moving wheel, all the while teaching him how to steer it in his favor as well. His hands were always busy, mind always hungry, which made it clear to his mother he would slip into place well as part of the Varos Kir when it came time to pledge. In the meantime control, efficiency, and innovation became the foundation for a long life of eventual success. At the age of ten, it was finally Ell’aen’s turn to take the long trip with his mother. Force was far from the boy’s decision, in many ways he was prepared to join side the other apostles of the Varos Kir. Only, once he’d gotten a taste of what it felt like to rise, it would soon become an unhealthy obsession. Adolescence As a young teen, facing each day in study and training with a resilient spite, Ell’aen rose to every challenge brought to him by teachers and mentors alike. New solutions, out of the box theories, loop holes, the halfling used whatever he could to prove himself worthy of truly being a part of the Varos Kir. During the years of new, and exposure to people unable to truly pronounce his name, Ell’aen Caos’ajela was eventually abandoned in preference for being called something people would remember. A striking, and powerful name in its own sense that he could grow into, Elijah. A name he felt would take him higher, while still maintaining a small connection to his roots. Unfortunately, with every step into Narathim the boy took, the more closed in the walls around him felt. Every word spoken, and bit of progress made toward teaching others how to become what he was to be felt trapping. As though in setting out on a future of assisting others and furthering knowledge, he would be losing himself along the way, despite that being very much not the case. And, alas, a hesitance in his morality took a more stronger hold. In the brunt of his studies, the arcane and magical aspects of life greatly peaked his interest. Part of him wanted to understand his sister, and her connection to the void. But a greater part was envy, a want to be something he was not; a sort of devotion to learning the ways of magic from a textual stand point rose higher and higher on his to do list of life. Alongside many scholars of magical arts, unnatural occurrences, and a handful of mages-- Elijah picked up further curiosity for magics of all kind. His favorite a skill of his mentor's for recording information. It took months and months of focus, watching, and asking far too many questions that resulted in rulers becoming his number one enemy... But in the end his efforts paid off, what others call a "whistling pencil," was successfully added to his ability to record keep. It didn't stop there, however. Between mentors around him, villagers and city dwellers alike having the means to extend their knowledge through the arcane, Elijah sought more. Having surrounded himself with books for over a decade; studying, breathing, and practically sleeping the ways of arcane involvement, the touch finally reached his fingers. Without the glove. Day in, and day out, Elijah worked on fully figuring out the extent he could manipulate a book. Only to find he only had power of what he gave the page, or what he could convince others to; if only just to humor him for a moment. This skill, talent, planar given right, however-- has made Elijah a very valuable piece in the game of long term memory. As it is a large reason the man can be a walking encyclopedia at times. Adulthood Continuing into adulthood, Elijah’s ability with a stave and accuracy with a bow were worked at restlessly. Book smarts came so easily to him, however combat did not. Luckily, Rhajja’s ability was a constant test, always a step ahead; training with her not only strengthened him, but brought him closer to her than any other. In growing such a strong bond with his sister, he followed her to Regalia out of fear of being left behind otherwise. On one side of the coin, he felt it would be two birds with one stone, however on the other, it appeared as precious time being wasted on waters that might kill them. Uncertain as to whether or not this was a large and poorly timed mistake, Elijah has taken to embracing all of the new, and records frequently what he can without endangering himself or Rhajja in anyway.

The following is common knowledge: Catch phrases are commonly used by the halfling. "Oh sugar honey iced-tea" is his favorite. In moments of serious or idle thought, Elijah's expression shifts into something that reflects pure sorrow. One might think a loved one had just passed, something valuable lost forever, but really... he's just spacing out. Elijah isn't a very materialistic person, but he can always be found with accessories. Bracelets and small rings the most commonly worn. The floppy hat Elijah can be found wearing has sentimental value to him, but no one knows why. Not even his sister. Pep talks are Elijah's forte. Positive energy radiates off of him, it can be a little unnerving. Elijah's favorite thing to eat is butterscotch candy. More often than not he has candy on his person in general. When up close and personal with Elijah, the smell of sandalwood and roses is faint. He washes fabrics in rose water, but often leaves them to dry near burning incenses.
