@Zacatero created a thread in the off topic category asking which pokemon the player was. I'd like to try and take that idea and apply it to the lore, and to characters.

What if Aloria had Pokemon? Meaning that Pokemon were just an accepted thing in society. Even though realistically Pokemon in the current setting would be the epitome of heresy, for the sake of the study let's just assume everything is fine.

What kind of Pokemon would your character have, and why? Also, no legendaries or Pokemon that wouldn't be possible in Aloria (so sorry Porygon, no computers means you don't exist ;-;)

I'll start and give an example:

House Drache:
while not a single character, the noble house would probably keep with the same types of Pokemon. Being from a coastal barony, as well as their obvious name, the Drache family would probably use a combination of Water and Dragon type Pokemon. The Dratini line would be used by the family, due to the Pokemon living in aquatic areas.

Walthur Drake:
Like the navigator he is, Walthur would probably use a Wingull to aid him on the seas. This Wingull would probably be nearing its evolution to Pelipper in the near future.

Nal Roh would have either a charizard, or a infernape. His affinity for fire, as well as his preference for raw power would make a really great match.

Ayahoshi would not really attach himself to any particular Pokemon. He would have a few, for utility and combat purposes.

Akoni Kahele:
Akoni would obviously have any type of fish pokemon he could find. He would study them and add them to his journal. He would also keep a goomy because both him(because he is a maiar) and goomy are not oftenly accepted in society and he would easily relate to it.
Holokia Lona:
Holokia would obviosly have a goomy to because he already literally has a slime pet named squishy and a goomy would fit right in with the family.

Zamir Khalil Akenzua:
- Fire [His skilled use of Fire Magic completely renders him into this type, as well as his hot-headed personality].

Damien Iven Martineau:
- Psychic [His ability of Antimagic only partially contributes to this decision, Damien is quite calm, and as such I find him to be a psychic type. Additionally he can cause excruciating pain in the ears of mages using his White Noise distortion, and that ability inherently in my opinion has quite a psychic-esque vibe to it].

Aerendar Erlan Zelphaer:
- Fairy [Why? Because he is a Light Mage. And Fairy being a direct counter to the Dark attribute, I find Aerendar would be best suited for this type. While his personality is only a minimal reflection of this type, Aerendar is constantly using his Light Mage for utility, healing, protection etc. With access to four of the subforms at Mage level (all purely protective forms, not Cutting Light), Aerendar has access to the divine state and is purely a force of retribution; all while causing shadows to flee].
