He was the middle child of five siblings, and raised by a family of medical practitioners. ♥ Some time after he reached his teens, Yoel’s family was subsequently crippled. His father was found guilty of malpractice, which not only cost him and his wife their medical licenses, but also put the family into financial ruin after having to pay the victim’s own family in return among other compensative costs. ♥ The family had to sell their home and find a cheaper house, albeit in a poorer area, where Yoel and his two elder brothers were forced to find work. The slums they now lived in would negatively influence the young Yoel and his family, causing an irreparable rift amongst them. Throughout his teens, Yoel developed several bad habits, gambling and drinking alcohol being the worst of them. ♥ Despite the situation his father put them in, he still yearned to be a doctor just as he was. Unfortunately with not enough money to afford medical school, he had to teach himself. His connection to two decent enough doctors certainly helped, but by the time he reached adulthood Yoel was still unqualified. ♥ Many years into his 20s, Yoel is still trying hard to make it out of his situation, until met by a man named Khayri– a captain of a disorderly pirate crew– at a local bar. Seeing Yoel’s situation, the captain recruited him as their unofficial medic. After several months of idly sailing, the crew set for Regalia: a golden opportunity for Yoel to finally achieve his dreams.
