A single ship sailed into harbor. Three masted. It looked regalian, but it was also clearly not. The sails were checkered, the flag was unknown to any state in the known Alorian world, the people on deck wore strange clothing and spoke a strange language. The ship eventually moored at the port in Regalia, immediately to be quarantined by the port authorities until a whole detachment of Viridian Knights as well as Violet guards approached with city officials in tow. After several hours of arduous translating between interpreters, the crew of the ship had managed to establish somewhat decent communication with the Regalians.
This seemingly insignificant arrival of a ship had massive implications to the world view of the known world, or the Regalian Empire. As the captain of the ship rolled out a map vaguely showing the Yang-tzu isles in the top left, vast landmasses previously unknown to anyone came into view. Massive nations with foreign names, roads linking cities, trade lanes and drawings of strange creatures dotted the map. Cartographers were rushed to the scene, comparing maps and redrawing sea and land lines.
Within hours, it became apparent that this seemingly foreign ship came from a land called "Tarch Cairdchlann". The language was eerily similar to Claith, yet still not understandable to fluent Claith speakers. Tarch Cairdchlann was a small maritime Republic on a vast continent. The crew of the ship spoke taled of hundreds of years of history in those lands completely separated from Regalia. It became apparent, that the origin of the Human species had at long last been reconnected with the Regalian sphere. These continents were cut off from the area around the Elven Empire during the Cataclysm, and all had assumed they were lost to the seas. No ship had ever dared to cross the Southern Unknown for fear what would await them on the other side. These brave explorers had made the crossing from the other side however, and stumbled into a world of equal amazement and wonder than the Regalians who met them in reverse.
Within hours the merchant houses and political offices were filled to the brim with would be explorers, merchants and other folk wishing to open up opportunities in these far away lands. The state quickly sanctioned that any and all naval shipping to these new continents was forbidden by State law, however the state would send a few ships. And so the ships sailed off, headed by the foreign ship, on their way to Tarch Cairdchlann. They would hopefully return in time, bringing produce and more news from this far away land.
