I sit here @ 3 AM thinking about Kaleel and how far off the rails he's gone from his original intent and what his roots were. That's no matter because sometimes it's fun to look at what the source material a character was from and notice how you have blended them together.

Here you may post the ideas and characters in the real world that influenced how you character acts and may even look like.

Kaleel:
  • He was originally based on Edward Elric (Full Metal Alchemist) and Naushe Kearney @Kelpsy in the looks department. His armor was of my own design.
  • For his personality I looked to none other than Edward Elric again; but not only him because I'm not an unoriginal little muffin, I looked to the holy grail for inspiration (literally). King Arthur and his knights of the round table was the major influence on Kaleel and his thirst for (flawed) justice. I also threw in little bits of myself in there to grow a bit more attached to him; but nothing to make him a self-insert as he and I are very different

Hanna:
  • She looks like a basic blonde; I reused a skin from an old Nelfin character and put little thought into it other than blonde hair and blue eyes.
  • Personality comes from Nathan Drake (Uncharted 1-4) and I threw in some shyness and stuff to make her not a basic piece of crap, but she still is and I don't care.

Hope you all enjoy recounting the source material for your own characters!

Sure, why not.

Fyrssra is based off an old character of mine, called "Amelia". I made her as a nasty bitch, and Fyrssra is kind of a more fleshed out and nicer version of that.

Greg is based off my father, The Clegane Brothers, and Bronn. I made him as a joke actually, but he turned out so fun to play that I ended up writing a whole app and got him approved. I generally just turn off my filter while playing him, as he's quite decisive and rash.

Curie is a mix between Amelia, and Greg. Close to being a complete bitch, but also having a lot of banter and fun. I made them because I felt Fyrssra was a little too nice in some places, and really wanted a character I could just go evil with.

I could've made this a lot longer, but I feel shorter responses are easier to get through, especially when it's likely no one really cares.

Asterion Fellmirr: Has no direct source of inspiration as I literally made the character up as I went along, but several others have come to influence the character. As an Athiest IRL Aster is an interesting uncritical exploration of faith for me. I used Don Quixote from the Man of La Mancha for this, since his blind idealism is a good basis. To understand the trials of the elderly I looked no further than Carl from Up. And of course, he fits the "Wise old wizard" role perfectly, with a lovely few twists to it.

As I mentioned in another thread, I took the most basic concept of Edward Elric (fake limbs+alchemy), and added my fathers personality to it so that Ayahoshi Tetsume could be created.

And Nal Roh.... His character concept and everything surrounding it is completely mine, but he speaks like a mixture between Starfire and the BFG...

Chris Black: A product of my imagination, not really inspired by another character. When I lost my previous patriarch, I needed to come up with a character who was a little bit different to the previous patriarch so that the two characters would be recognisable from each other. They do share a lot of similar qualities but Chris is a little bit more cheeky and outwardly war-mongering, I think. If anything, I get inspired by the band Muse's music when I play a Black, and sort of picture a modern day Chris as being either a rock star or a jet fighter pilot.

Sienna:
I always base the bubbliness of my character of a sort of hyped up rapunzel from tangled with the whimsical nature that Luna love good would have. Besides that she is looks wise based of a character from a comic called 'ava's demon' which I changed the looks of a lot.

Momo:
Momo started out being played as a realky sweet Chii girl that was like any adorable kid but just had this spark of rebellion in her. She had one of her front teeth missing for the longest time and is now more based of the main character from the movie god bless America.

I'm on my phone rn but I'll add later

Apollonia Tzavaras:
  • Her parenting is inspired by this video, and my personal experience with being raised by a stereotypically Asian parent.
  • Personality wise, she's a bit like a mix of Daisy Buchanan (according to @Silent_Ruler) and some other more evil, manipulative gal.
  • Felicity Jones is her face claim, but Apple has different eyes and hair and FRECKLES.

Naushe: Naushe was basically a reboot of my first character, Glenn. A lot of his beliefs match my father's, surprisingly, and the decisions he makes typically follow my dad's moral compass with a few spritzes of my own thrown in; however, I do push the boundaries a bit more, as I wanted him to be confrontational and full of pride so that he could easily incite roleplay tension. I might've been inspired by John Marston, but gave him enough flaws and fears in an attempt to make him more... Well, real or believable. His appearance is based entirely off of a red-headed Colin Farrell.

Runi: Runi's a self insert. If I lived in a fantasy would, you bet your bananas I'd be a fisherman. Could you imagine the kinds of creatures you'd reel in?? Yasssss. Such danger. Such adventure. She also looks, thinks, and does as I do. I could probably imitate her accent, too.

Alf Cooper - Alf is completely my own character design, and so are just about all the characters I've ever had. Alf's personality, strengths, and weaknesses are loosely based off of me. Of course, his personality is still a jerk version of me.

Noelle Hath

When I originally made Noelle, my goal was to basically make the nicest person ever. So, if you met her in the first two weeks that I had made her she was super super nice. Then I kinda of grew bored of this over nice person and began to work on her life story. She is a little based Daphine Grimm (from The Sisters Grimm), majorly based on Kestrel from The Winner's trilogy (I recommend you read it). As for looks, I based her looks heavily off myself. Really the only difference between us is she has black hair and was near starvation when she arrive in Regalia. Her talking was originally suppose to show that she was a bit slow, but I don't think it had that effect but I kept it anyways because it was an interesting thing. And, just a little fact, in Noelle's life story she meets a man named Kinnison. Kinnison is based on one of my teachers who, sadly, is currently fighting stage 4 cancer. He is one of my favorite teachers and I just hope that he comes out all right.

Nicolo: Nico was a character that I really wanted to be comfortable rping to get myself out there without having to worry about not portraying him properly, so I decided to take a lot of his personality from a mix between my own and my dads, heritage included (I did intend for this to be a way to explore my own culture in a way I can't in real life, this is a bit complicated though so if anyone wants to know more message me). His clothing style and other aspects of his personality are heavily influenced by the three musketeers. Nico was and is, in my opinion, my first good character who had an added layer of depth that was much needed in my prior characters.

Alvaro: Alvaro is essentially the opposite of Nicolo in many ways. They're both incredibly confident in their ability but in a different way, hopefully if you've rped with both of these characters you can see what I mean. I wanted to play a noble character that had the potential to instigate memorable rp so thats where a lot of his overt or exaggerated personality traits come from, as far as inspiration from characters or real people I drew a lot from Lord Byron, the english poet and shakespearean Sir Falstaff - this is the source of his hedonistic and reliant nature.

Laeroth: With Laeroth, I wanted to try something a little different from my usual characters. I wanted someone who was capable and smart but not particularly brawny or talented with weapons like a whole slew of my other characters. Laeroth takes no inspiration from any characters or people but like all characters she does harbour aspects of my own personality. I was also really interested in using sight magic and Laeroth exercises that interest now.

Jack Chance:
  • In terms of physical appearance Jack is really my own creation. I didn't base him off any actor or celebrity, just my imagination.
  • In terms of personality, I took a lot from popular con-men television shows such as "White Collar" and "The Blacklist", sampling what I liked from Neil and Red. A lot of his quirky habits come from myself, the ones I catch on to anyway.
  • I've never truly elaborated on it, but I've always imagined his voice as Tom Hiddleston's, specifically playing as Loki.
Ceiwén Heiwynn:
  • Like Jack, Ceiwén appearance was taken from my own mind, with really no attention to any real life figures.
  • Hilariously enough, Ceiwén's appearance is actually based on a type of bear called a sloth bear. He was originally going to be an Ellon mage so I kinda adapted his look around that.
  • This is terrible, but whenever I think of what Ceiwén sounds like, I always think about Steve Irwin narrating himself catching a "croc".

Obi-Wan Kenobi. My favorite character of pretty much everything ever.

Tristan was supposed to be an honorable, kind knight.

Somewhere along the road... he went horribly wrong, but hey. I love a good tragedy.

Macbeth inspired Percy, while at the same time having little influence on the character design. I like to think that Ser Davos was the direction I wanted to head with Percy in the beginning, back when he was honorable and whatnot. Though over time he sort of actually evolved into something unique and beautiful, which I'm glad for.

I based Armyn of Geralt from the Witcher games. Mainly looks wise and a few personality traits, though. But he's an Isldar. The rest I came up with. Am I creative yet?

Abigail Tucker (My first serious character)
Where Abigail came from is a bit tricky, mainly because she's been re-worked a lot and I've had her for nearly three years.

For the first time I played Abigail, I'm 80% sure I based her off Toph, from the last air bender. I was going to make her an iron mage (Release Iron magic 2k17?) when it was released, which, unfortunately, never happened. Instead, I switched her to being a blacksmith, though personality wise, she was still very rough and tough and tomboyish like Toph.

Originally she was an only child, though, I later changed her to not only being a twin, but a quintuplet. She had 4 other look-alike sisters. I don't know why I decided this, but uh, I did.

She, originally, was very southern-like (Because I am from the south too, I guess? I was like 13 when I made her, I don't know why I decided to make her a redneck too.) and she was from Ithanian (At the time I was a total noob and didn't really pay attention to culture stuff. She was Ithanian because my faction was in Ithania.)

Lots of shenanigans happened with early Abigail, until I one day decided that I was unhappy with how I was playing her, and she got a full scale rewrite.

I steered away from Toph inspiration and made her a bit more.. feeble. She became more withdrawn, not loud and boisterous and stuff, and kinda actually really depressed. I'm pretty sure I started to look towards Crona from Soul Eater. Don't know why, but, I did. Also I made her just have a lot of siblings, instead of being a quintuplet, because I think I got yelled at for that.

So Abigail became real Edgy about now. I think she also tried to kill herself once? Super edgy.

Again, I disliked how I was playing her, so I changed her again.

Initially, I didn't really look to anybody or anything in particular when rewriting, just the idea that she was just going to be an average joe. I figured out about cultures, gave explanation about why she's from Ithania but has an English name, made her worship the old gods (Because why not?) and had her dres more lady like (No more overalls u.u).

She hasn't gone through any more massive rewrites since then, i don't think.

Though, recently, I've decided to make her more upbeat and extroverted again, lightly basing personality off Steven's, from Steven Universe.

Oakley Pratt

Honestly, I can't remember if I based Oakley's personality off anybody's. Her looks were based off what an older (Now dead) character of mine looked like. Oakley firstly came around when I was just thinking about how funny it'd be for a lady to have a man's name, and how she'd never really be taken as a woman first glance / mention. Oakley's name was originally going to be 'Harvey', I'm pretty sure, but I decided on Oakley after finding it in a name generator.

Oakley, originally, was intended to be a super villain and alchemist lady. Super mean and nasty, feared among people of the lower class and higher class alike, and just generally super stronk. Originally, she was a Quel'ess, though I changed it to chyga when that wasn't a special permission any more. She, also, originally used a blowgun as a weapon. Her personality was a bit shallow, just generally nasty and Greedy, she was based off the vice greed in early creations, anything that wasn't nailed to the floor was hers.

Eventually I grew tired of Oakley's meanness and shallowness and she grew stale. I eventually rewrote her, however, and she became much less of a villain, more just a good guy down on her luck. Her poor choices led her to have to do what she can to get by. Stealing, lying, whoring herself out, getting involved with bad crowds, stuff like that. During this rewrite, I based her off three songs mainly. What It's Like, by Everlast. Mad Season, by Matchbox 20. And Semi-Charmed Life, by Third Eye Blind.

*strikes a pose*
Niantha Gwaeth'orn: MYSELF!
She is pretty much an exaggerated self-insert, who has diverted and divulged down her own path over the years. I still relate to her in many personality traits, but she is much more extroverted and emotionally unstable than I am now. (Not to mention being a crazed cult leader!)

Originally, back when Nymph Yanar were a thing, she was inspired by tales of fairies and forest elves; who were very naive to society and inherently kind. You can see how much she's changed since then! Now she is inspired by different aspects of myself, crossed with a little bit of Zira from the Lion King 2, and natural progressions and ideas from my own imaginations.

    • I never saw any kind of array of ugly or alien characters. Most of the folks I see are handsome, or average, individuals who are slightly pudgy, slightly skinny, or slightly bulky. Elves never have been played to look alien, either; many tend to be handsome, attractive, or average without any of the horribly lanky attributes that truly define the race. To form him, I looked no further than the spamming of the Dark Souls 'random' button. I always have been described to be the living look of the main protagonist of Ichebod Crane and the Legend of Sleepy Hallow, and had been obsessed with the usage of characters that were critical or useless in the categories. Out of spite from characters that would be blood slaves with no background and magic users with no real reason as to why they used it constantly, I worked that into his life story. As he progressed, he was supposed to be a submissive character who was more than willing to save his friends from mages, but this plan rotted away when all of his friends were also mages. I took my own issues of anger and pushed them into Wilfre, allowing dice and a loss of happiness to become overgrown. To put it plainly; this was the face of a man once handsome and humble, but he had become the maw of a monster now ugly and pretentious. Wilfre is a caricature of my looks and my anger.

    • I always have been interested in the world. There was an unknown majesty in how alien some of the creatures we know are, yet how familiar some of these fantasies become. He began as a gruff, thieving character with little other than the will to bring harm upon others; the stereotype for Satan in the form of a cruel snake. Once the lore changed, he too had to change. Adapting some of these new snippets of what was given (and intensive searches of psychopaths, games depicting them such as Outlast, and documentaries of psychological tortured individuals), I forged a beautiful creature that constantly groomed at himself and his environment, hoping to make everyone just as successful, powerful, handsome and happy as he was... but only if it benefitted him. His mind tricks and assassination skills came from my dislike of sewer assassins, too. A proper one wouldn't announce himself and carry a dagger doused in poison, but he would carry a sharpened Quill doused in ink and a quiet lust for the blood from the throat. Ri'az

Personalities :
For personalities, Ri'az changes a lot from time to time. I first based my boi Ri'az from Puss in Boots mixed with a basic pirate looks and accent then as the time pass by, I felt like to change him to how he is now, charming, silvertongued pirate cat.

Appearance :

Ri'az appearance was from my own creativity, He looked like a tiger mixed with a leopard and badass eyepatch and sweptback hairstyle, best character I've ever designed.

Nessien Laelithial. She was originally supposed to be a spirit ( Or, now Ellon mage ) with the spirit form being a snake. This meant I had to make her fit the characteristics of one; this included shredding skin, like how I planned for her to shed masks of personalities. However, due ot the fact that I wasn't sure if you could be a snake.. Her personality is supposed to be the fakest thing to ever exist, as based off Junko Enoshima's tendency to bullshit personalities. Though I did tone it down a lot from that.

Rilion Larenel. I'm not sure how this guy was created, since I originally made him in 2015, and then actually began playing him seriously in 2016. But whatever, Rilion was based on Moral confusion, something I was unfortunately unable to accurately portray, as being a Shendar possessed with a Justice possession. The rest is what I would find cute in an anime character, leading up to how Rilion ended up as Aloria's first weeaboo.

Silvian Elking. Oh boy, this character was actually from another roleplay server I used to go on; and then I had decided to change their name from Stephanie to Stephen, and then changed again because of all the damn Stephen King jokes I got into Silvian. Originally, as Stephanie; she was the same thing that Silvian is now; though significantly more.. something. I can only remember some bits of how I played her; but she was based off not the characters -- but the atmosphere of Gravity Falls when it was still running, but with a pinch of darkness. The paranoid freak had actually lived in a mysterious town, but had those mysteries changed into literal delusions when fitting them into Aloria.

in all honesty i have no idea how these character went from 'emotionally stable (for the most part)' to aAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

Breathtaking

Cecil Empolan had quite an interesting start. Well. Sorta. I had just finished reading a book titled "Thirteenth Night," based upon Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night". It centers upon a jester, and I really enjoyed it, especially since I already really enjoy bard characters. Simultaneously, I'd been trying to get my friend to commit to roleplay on Massive, and I couldn't think of a better way than to get him tied into a roleplay family with me.

SO, we decided to make brothers, drawing inspiration from the novel "The Thirteenth Tale", and rather interestingly, most aspects of Cecil were geared towards being played with his prospective brother, Nevil. Fast forward a few weeks and he was already flaking, and Cecil was simultaneously facing the rigorous Staff Review process. I was struggling to make his life story in it, and in the process, I made a crucial decision: I made Cecil and Nevil get separated during their journey to Regalia. In so doing, I accidentally made Cecil a brother searching for his other half in a city that hated what he was. It was the most interesting accident and I think it pushed my roleplay up a level. It finally pushed me into the deep blue of roleplay rather than faffy edginess.

This sort of deficiency, a missing brother, caused Cecil to be looking for someone to fill that gap. The only major change I made to him was when Lyre Magic was written and I added t to his character. Other than that, his views grew naturally from what happened to him.

Cecil sort of happened to me in the most wonderful kind of accident, and perhaps most interestingly, is how I reverse self-inserted. What do I mean? Well, I started behaving more like Cecil; using words he did, syntax he did, sharing values. I feel like I've been along for the ride as Cecil has grown and I've watched it all unfold; it makes me feel bad when I really have to think about what he would do, because he seems to know himself so well that it feels wrong to have to figure it out for him.

He started as a brother dependent on his blood, and turned into a character almost independent of me, his creator and player.

Guess Imma also be doing this.

Phon: Originating in another RP server a few years back, I started using him as a rather generic mechanically inclined person. But then time progressed and the character grew old, I came to blend the concept of a wise old man with the fire and overall coolness. The server closed down and I came to Massivecraft, bringing the character along and started off here as a generic old man in a bedtime gown. And then I started building up his character and medievalizing him (the eyepatch also came in this state, he originally had both eyes). I put in some resemblance of my own personality to make him fluider to play, and sticking to the original "over-the-top" concept. First he was similar to a more action-oriented Master Yoda or friendlier Chuck Norris (but I never realized the smiliarity to Yoda until someone pointed it out) but over time our personality sets blended together and he radically fluctuated back and forth between being a "wise, caring old hero with hilariously cool and over the top combat" and "total comedian who always make someone laugh no matter what he does". That, maybe, was what created the Phon-ness. I had various ideas of having something special about him but then I figured being him alone was special enough as it is. His original app however, was kind of cringey and I mulled over the idea of how to rewrite him. To be fair, he would of turned out very differently had I settled on another idea. Now he's all good as a human and not as absurdly larger than life as he was. And he still remained my best character up to date.

Mari: Was first made purely after I decided to ditch Phon (and later picking him back from the dirt) as a radical transition into someone who is utterly defenseless as opposed to his supposed invincibility. She was made in the concept of a slave with a touch of retard in her. She was basically made to be hit around and get all kinds of traumatization from it. It actually worked out quite well as her character developed, the various stuff I've been through with her degrading her from simply a quiet looking person into an obviously mentally lagging person. And I could say that I wouldn't change a thing about her.

Ribbon: A...replacement, to something brighter after playing such a depressing character. However, it turned out kind of meh as I noticed there was no particular quality I could play with her to really make it shine (along with my mentality degrading in its worst state around that time). I'd call this one a flop as I entirely lost interest to play her further. Maybe I'll keep the character setting around to play in another RP.

Roxanne: The original concept was far, almost opposite as her official appearance. First I originally intended her to be an ex-bodyguard of a noble in Ithania failing her duty in a war and aimlessly looking for a new job in Regalia. However, I couldn't find a last name for her and somehow decided to settle in the Lampero family, along with turning her concept a 180 and made her a scientist instead. Though her other departments remain almost the same with the physical appearance like the blind right eye and innate soul piercing stare, and the strictly monotone and questioning personality that makes people uncomfortable being near her. I personally found her pretty damn fun to play as she turned out to be the one thing that I havn't done. I've had much fun specifically targetting newer RPers and questioning what I see about them while playing as her. Shame @SupremeCripple deactivated the family so I could no longer play as her. I still want to bring her back as her own character detaching from the family though.

Sasha: A character specifically made for the qadir occupation. I just went with a stereotypical gentle giant with the power of soviet union. He was fun to play from time to time when I feel like goofing around, I would have used him in various world progression wars but bad timing on my part resulted in me having never signed him up for any of those. It's kind of disappointing really.

Tessa: My try at the cute side, admittedly a guilty pleasure as her original concept was done rather shoddily as I went for the 100% cute. I stopped playing her shortly after introducing her from some real life inconvenience that got me staying off. And then waaayy after that I finally had the mind to fully write her app out. Now she tries to act more like a grown-up and I like how she is. I'll bring her back once this whole Lo thing is over.

Lionel: For the need of having the head of my family as a concrete character and not just someone who solely exists in letters. Lionel was a newly made character whose concept was long in my head before his introduction. An eccentric cool dad who likes nothing more than partying and being handsome. With his whole "Will.I.Am" hairstyle and uncanny life story was a long time concept. Yes, including the whole relying on his wife to fight thing. I still havn't played him enough to make any considerable evaluation on it yet, but after this whole thing is done I might be.

Adyos - He was literally a fire mage and nothing else. He's been retconned to be way different but basically i found a medieval skin i liked and made a "character" if you could call it that to go with it.

Altior - A stereotypical assassin and nothing more, until he was remade.

Finwe - A kinda steampunk-ish witty and fun old man.

Kuenre - A d*-ish Tigran pirate, shoot first and ask questions later.

(So basic amirite?)

Phillip - (My personal favorite character, since because of him I met my girlfriend) After reading some really good Batman story arcs, I had the idea for a horrible villainous killer character, and I also had the idea for a super friendly nice character who would talk to everyone. So I thought - why not make one that's both? His villainous side was inspired by characters such as Onomatopoeia, Hush, the Holiday Killer (so like...gimmicky serial killers) and to a lesser extent, Two-Face. His friendly side was made to be a lore-compliant modern day celebrity actor. He has changed a ton and I retconned him to be much less violence-based and have an actual personality. After meeting a good girl, she changed him and made him a better person and now he's a Duke and hasn't killed anyone any good people in like a year. He's still a druggie and somewhat alcoholic but that's because he feels so guilty about all the people he killed.

Kovic - I wanted him to be like an overprotective big brother to everyone he likes, and be really competitive, always wanting to prove himself.

Daniel and Tristan - Both were mostly made by someone else, but Daniel is a typical charming but amoral thief and Tristan is a typical confused teenager who is lowkey a pain in the a*.

Akoni Kahele: Akoni was 100% based off of ant man. I wanted a scientist who had the ability to shrink and breath underwater. So, I just made a maiar scholar and after 3 months of character edits. I got approval for what he is now. His clothing is based off of https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...8qIm9Q&usg=AFQjCNEVOQdVvWA2P7r-vArltbzz6KojAA
and the hair(fin) was from an akward period of rp that I went through before I read the vampire page and I decided to keep it because it looked nice...

Teresa Grimaldi is basically inspired by Feliciano and Romano from Hetalia, Szadek from Magic: the Gathering, Mr. Gold/Rumplestiltskin from Once Upon a Time, and the Italian Mafia. For an IC comparison, she's basically Penelope back when I played her as a unionist, before possession trash happened. Except she's not a Mary Sue assassin with no personally or flaws. She came about when @Ebrima was like "TACO U DORK U MANAGE AN RP FAMILY BUT ALL UR CHARS IN IT ARE SHELVED" so I was like "um ok I guess I'll make Penelope have a little sister". Then I sorta decided on Lyre magic due to how Dressolini are famed for their musical talent. I was like "um high lvl lyre is cool but I don't think this char will need it" so I added in Dressolini Fencing on top of it. When I looked on the Lyre wiki page, it said lyre instruments end up possessed rather easily, so I noted that. When I got to her weaknesses, as always, I had trouble since all the ideas I had were negative traits already. So then I looked up at her trait "Greedy" (which had no description yet) and said "hey uh what if her pan flute is greed possessed and since she carries it everywhere it gives her an even greedier personality and kleptomania that could be a weakness" It stuck. And then I was like 'dang te'suik are underplayed there are like legit two of them' so I just went back and redid her personality and some of her personality. As for her appearance, I'd read a profile post by @Grinning_Greaser about the lack of ugly or average chars, and I agreed. So I decided, sorta rough and messy looking, quite a few scars, sorta boyish looking, hair frizzy asf and bigger than her actual face. Sorta thicc, and bad posture. Basically the textbook definition of a geek.

And uh that's basically how smol came about.

  • Rei Kanter: I took a trip to New York and visited the 9/11 memorial. It was beautiful and I remember seeing the last name Kanter etched into one of the memorials. That name stuck with me and I couldn't get it out of my head.
  • Dahae Faerveren: My mother drew an elf for me. I took her design and made a character out of it.
  • Trevor Gray: Kind man. I wanted to make him into an asshole (he sort of is), but a nice jerk. Trevor is a goof. Inspired by my Korean uncles who would get into LOOOOADS of trouble. It's crazy.

I honestly love this technique of creating a character:
Find an online number generator
Put a number for each race, gender, mage or not, etc.
roll that number i.e. Male=1 female=2 roll a random number between 1 and 2
Once you finish the first part of the app through a random number generator you should have an ok idea in your mind and do the same for personalities. Try to be fair in your rolling and if you want to spice it up, roll to see if your character is a yanar seedling or not. This is how I created my new char "gnomesy"

Most of my characters are based off a single characteristic I like. Ex- Golden eyes, tanned skin, whatevs.

Then I look into what race can use those aspects and form it into a character. Weird, I know.

I've had 2 characters based off of this and they both didn't get approved, one did really good in rp but I didn't care to go through the approval process and was like 2% incompliant and didn't end out how I wanted, while the other was never roleplayed with but I worked really hard to get approved but I couldn't get good enough weaknesses...

Right. This looks like a good spot to unload my characters. Let's start at the beginning and work forwards from there. And let's lock their browser, so they can't leave.

Hornet Gaunt/Chkornet Khaunt: My first ever RP character. Was very simple in terms of design - built as a Vespid and a psycho serial killer. There was no plan of a personality, no plan for appearance. All I did was grab the first Vespid skin I found and used that. His horribly scarred face was actually a result of being attacked IC by a fire mage, and it just sorta.. Stuck. This and his inability to speak common (though miraculously, everybody seemed to understand his buggo clicks (probably helped that the meaning was written afterwards in brackets (I mean really though, that meant that in order to RP with him you had to meta))) made him fun to play and also memorable. Perhaps due in part to the deviations from the lore that I was prone to at this early stage, Chkornet remains one of my most easily remembered characters - so much so that I have attempted to resurrect him in several different forms, and continue to create little references in my current characters to him.
Cetus Ferrum/Koana/Ko'an/Koan: Again, an early character that has continued through the changes in lore; this guy was made way back when Maiar were water spirits and Agni were still a playable race. This character was built along similar lines to Hornet, and went through many changes as Aloria changed. The original inspiration, I'm afraid to say, was a bit too Jaws for current me. The character is still fun to play, however, and I do to this day. His name, I believe, was taken straight out of Latin - I think it means Iron Tooth? Tooth of iron? Iron.. Claw? Something like that. At least it was two words from a non-English language this time.
Sanctum Basta: An Arachni character who was quite plain and simple - a step away from my more horrific and serial-killing characters. His name was actually made up on the spot out of random syllables, but now that I look at it, Sanctum means ghost or holy in Latin. Almost ironic - this character was based off tarantulas and other creepy crawlies and as such moved in a strange, almost unnatural way and liked to munch on rats and mice and other scampering things.

Now let's skip a bunch and move on to recent ones.

Dal'satt Eidol, AKA Sall'thaz: This is one of my favourite ever characters. Based off a cross between Hornet and.. Well, me. Slightly scary, but Dal'satt carries a lot of my values just cranked up a notch. Basically, this is my self-insert.
Xanot: Aha~
That, my friend, is what we in the business call a 'secret'.
Orrian Morzorwyn: Basically originally designed as a cute Ellon mage, which then branched out into something different. Still a new character, so looking forward to seeing how this one turns out.
Ruadh Hadub/Arruleshiae Baudh: An odd character to say the least, basically where all my weird humour and crazy impulses go. Extremely fun to play, as he changes a lot day to day - this has become kinda normal for him.

And uh. That's it.
Right. I'll go back to my corner now.

I've never posted here....?

  • Walthur Drake: I wanted to have a commoner because I feel that playing one helps to immerse you into the lore, as he would be easier to relate to. Then I found a niche that hadn't been explored, which was navigation. So put the two things together and that's how Walthur was created.
  • Dietrich Drache: I got bored of standing in a harbor shop for 6 hours a day, so I decided to get into the noble scene once it became a lot easier to become a baron. I chose Alt-Regalian as my culture because I'm studying German at the university. Drache is German for dragon, and who doesn't like dragons?
  • Eldrich Drache: I wanted to have an emergency replacement for Dietrich in case I decided to kill him off. Then I started progressing as Dietrich and Eldrich basically got shelved to player quest status. I would play him, but I didn't see the need to play a Viridian Knight when there isn't that much need for them.
