I think that it would be cool if there were 5 or 6 special weapons maybe with their own texture or just look like normal enchanted weapons. But they had abilities like say one gave a slow poisoning affect and was a sword. Or a bow that could make whatever was hit the target of nearby mobs. Maybe an axe with extra armor breaking. There wouldn't be too many and these items would never break. But are extremely hard to obtain. And when you die with one of them it goes back to it's original temple that protected it.

Maybe to make sure noone hides them in a chest or such, they could make it so it must be in hotbar, so people actually could die with the weapons so it resets. I don't think the armor breaking axe is a good idea, what if an mctop axes gets a hold of it..

That's waht I was thinking.

Or instead of having them kept in temples, admins could host a big PvP event where people fight for the weapons.

I'm not very sure that these should be added, considering you can just spam click and win, even if you are fighting someone in God armour, so ehhh I'm not sure this should be added.

But once you have it you can't die with it or leave it out of you hot tool. And it could be the only exception to the premium rule. Plus I mean It wouldn't make anyone invincible. And I disagree with the tournament thing. That would mean that already good fighters would get it and they may actually become invincible. Earn it through means other than fighting or at least other than pvp fighting. That way it isn't guaranteed to go to a strong person.

Then they would go back to the temple :/

If you die with them they go back to the temple you got them from.

I like this idea, if only because I will gather all 6 (I think there should be 7, btw) and RULE TEH WO- I mean, defend my faction against all foes...

I'd have to say this is a good idea, but as stated above,
I would defiantly be OP because only the good pvpers would go after said weapons but its not a bad idea! =D

Either the good PVPers would get it, or someone on Mctop without PVP skills could just run in clickin' like a noob and get it. We gotta give the Non-Premiums some chance here, too.
People like you could just rush in there with an Axe, and if me and my brother were in there to try and team to get the weapon, you could take us out within simply a few hits, and the only advantage we'd have would perhaps be me with a Poison potion, but that's really it.
I like the idea, it just needs to be a bit refined, I suppose.

Perhaps is such an idea is implemented specific people would be hand chosen by the admins to be given these "Tools of God". Each tool would be designed for a specific purpose (Axe for war, Sword for duals, Bow for hunting, Hoe for farming, ext). They don't need to be weapons either, but tools like a Hoe, Shovel, Pickaxe, or even items like a Clock (which could, maybe, grant the holder the ability to control what time of day it is?) or something.

I think it might be interesting to have Legendary Weapons, if their background was fleshed out enough and mechanics were put in place to balance them. The way I see it, there are two ways you could balance a legendary weapon:

Mechanically: Perhaps this bow casts damage from hitpoints, perhaps this sword rots your armour whilst it's in your inventory. Either way, such nerfs are implemented by a mechanical plugin that uses the existing rules of Minecraft to balance the weapon. People who play custom maps might recall seeing custom potions that give buffs and penalties when drunk, and that's what I'm thinking here.

Role-play wise: Perhaps holding onto the sword for too long will cause you to seek out greater and stronger targets until the peoples of the world unite to stop you. Perhaps the temple where it's kept is full of traps and only opens every full moon (thanks, light sensors!). Either way, it's the plot that balances the weapon rather than the mechanics. Whilst this could lead to more dramatic fuel, this is more dangerous as it's harder to enforce.
