The White Ribbon Society proudly presents the first act of a new program called the W.R.S. Foundation: Bringing the unfortunate men and women, boys and girls of Regalia the opportunity for a brighter future of success and self-sustainability. The W.R.S. Foundation Almshouse will offer both temporary living solutions and resources to those who require assistance, young and old alike!
The mission of the W.R.S. Foundation Almshouse is to provide children and adults who are not self-dependant a much-needed boost in areas they'll need assistance the most. Children who are admitted to the W.R.S. Foundation long-term will be provided with temporary housing (until the age of 16), basic schooling and an elective of their choosing to assist them in finding professional opportunities in the years to come. Adults and their families (under special circumstances) are permitted up to one (1) year of temporary living while they are educated and assisted in specific life skills which will allow them to retain self-sustainability while also teaching them methods of self-defense against domestic and targeted violence.
NOTE: All who are under W.R.S. Foundation care are provided with free meals, temporary housing, and basic education. Unionism is heavily emphasized and included within the basic teachings. Children will be taken to the Church every Sunday morning to join in sermons and prayer so that they may learn about and accept the Spirit.
In order to be admitted into the W.R.S. Foundation Almshouse, you must meet the following requirements. You must:
- Be unable to maintain a steady wage and/or be unable to retain self-sustainability/dependence
- If a child, be below the age of 16; if an adult, be above the age of 17
- For adults, special circumstances include, but are not limited to:
- Seeking refuge from domestic violence or abuse
- Inability to pay for the commodities and other required necessities for your house
- An obvious need of or for assistance from the W.R.S. Foundation
- Adults are required to be Unionist
- For children, special circumstances include, but are not limited to:
- Lack or loss of parental or family guidance
- Lack of necessary skills required for a future of self-sustainability
- An obvious need of or for assistance from the W.R.S. Foundation
- For adults, special circumstances include, but are not limited to:
- Be able to work and live with and around other people of varying race, culture and prestige with little or no conflict
- Light etiquette classes will be offered to those who need assistance in correcting behavior or obvious negative bias towards an individual or group of individuals
NOTE: There will be a W.R.S. Foundation Volunteer on Almshouse premises at all times to ensure the comfort and safety of those under its protection and guidance. We ask that public displays of affection and heavy alcohol are kept away from the premises in acknowledgment of young, easily influenced minds. Children who are not already Unionist will be taught Unionism. Those who are already Unionist will proceed with Unionist teachings.
