Character Information
More appearance info
Vyssira has long hair that reaches to her boots, and her clothing seems reminiscent of traditional Tibet clothing yet with a dash of modernism. Her face is sharp and angular with delicate features and pointed ears that are adorned with circular earrings. She has a stoic expression, with lavender/blue grey eyes that often seem tired. Blue markings ran across her face, complimenting the limited blue streaks that run through her hair.
Life Story / Plot Hooks
Her great-grandfather was one of the first Dregodars(also a great mage)—who fled to Ellador from the Allorn Empire during the historic event known as the Cold March. This legacy shaped her identity, as she came to be recognized as a member of the Trueblood faction of the Isldar.
Her grandfather, deeply affected by the horrors of war, was determined to follow in his father's footsteps and become a powerful mage. He lived a long life, during which he raised a son who chose a different path and became a soldier. The son eventually fell in love, and the woman he loved was warmly welcomed into their family. Together, they had a child—a child who brought light and hope to a family worn thin by loss.
But tragedy struck soon after. The mother died in a sudden and devastating incident. Overwhelmed by grief, both the grandfather and the father made a desperate decision: they would shield the child from the harshness of the world. As the girl grew older, her resemblance to her mother became more striking by the day, and her personality mirrored that of her great-grandfather—curious, strong-willed, and unrelenting. The grandfather, seeing this spark, began to teach her the ways of magic, with occasional help from her father.
Though the grandfather shared all he knew, it was clear that it was not enough. As the girl matured into adulthood, she remained deeply naive about the world beyond her home—her knowledge shaped by the family's protection and their personal biases. But her curiosity only grew stronger. She began to ask questions, relentlessly.
By then, the Civil War had begun. Her father, wounded and discharged from service, returned home a changed man. He had grown cold and volatile. No longer able to bear the sight of his daughter bothering her aging grandfather, he took over her education. His methods became cruel—strict discipline, harsh punishments, and physical correction for any perceived failure. Yet despite everything, the daughter never stopped caring for him. She viewed his abuse as punishment for her own shortcomings and constantly sought to earn his approval.
As the grandfather approached the end of his life, he granted his granddaughter a final gift. On his deathbed, he agreed to her one wish: to leave the confines of her sheltered life and see the world. But there was a condition—she must become a greater mage than he ever was. The father protested, pleading for a different path, but the decision had already been made. He was forced to comply, though not without adding his own conditions to her departure.
And so, with the weight of generations on her shoulders, she stepped into the world for the first time
