Myself and Dosier are interested in galvanizing the Url "community", to even create one in the absence of any. Right now Urls are treated much like the +1 of gangs or Nobles, many noble houses have an Url as bodyguard (because they are pretty good at it), but intrinsically, that never really results in any Url-centrist role play, or themes that are relevant to Urls. I know last time I tried to sit down and form a Throng, I found that I had too little time for it, but now that time has passed and Url characters have settled more into consistency instead of post-race release, it may be time to see if we can group it all together for more Url centrist themes.

For those Urls reading this post, or for those wishing to perhaps play an Url, it is relevant to think about what we actually want to do as Urls inside an Url oriented community. Obvious topics of conversation are the Baal-Url, the ethics of living in Regalian society, and how Urls decide to live among Humans that tongue-in-cheek acknowledge them as part of their society, but dialogue roleplay isn't that interesting for everyone. Maybe we should facilitate something for those who like Combat Rp, maybe we should facilitate some cross-races interactions, interfacing with the upcoming mercenaries and gladiators, or find some way to bring in spectators for entertainment.

Another point to make is what each individual is hoping to get out of it, or more specifically what kind of role they are hoping to have. My Url for example is a big Url, but I'm 100% disinterested in combat roleplay. I personally like the sort of "Aged quiet Url who dispenses moral dilemmas or expresses himself through body language, not so much the spoken word", and how that interfaces with other Urls. I would want to have such a group be respectful of the roles that the members would seek to perform inside of it. Some people might want to be the "tough guy", some of them might want to be the "insecure guy", some might want to be the "confused guy", and others yet might want to be the "comedy guy", my sort of appeal is the "Mentor guy" (insert other genders where relevant).

In summary, I'm looking for replies from current Url character having players to see if they are:
  • Interested in a more community driven unit of Urls to gather at certain days and certain times.
  • What kind of things they are mainly looking for from an Url group, and this can really be as wide as anyone can come up with, #noshame in liking combat or romance rp.
  • What kind of personal role they would like to fulfill in the community, how they would want other Urls to view their Url.
In summary also, I'm looking for replies from players who currently do not have an Url:
  • What would make them interested in making one, and in making one, what would interest them in joining a more broader Url community.

I have a Songaskian (formerly Solang) Url who takes the form of a giraffe. I love him. I would love to see a bigger community for all races, Url included. My Url wishes to be seen as a voice of reason. He wants peace whenever possible. For an Url throng, I would love a group that patrols the wilderness hunting for sport.

Also, I feel more people would be attracted to Urls if there were more subraces. They're very much for those who like brawny characters. As a dwarf main, they fit in well enough. Possibly if there were more bestial Url forms, maybe more people would play as them.

Ok so. Lemme clarify, this isn't about criticizing the Url race, this is about how to get people interested in involving themselves IC with a group that I'm planning to start. I'm starting an Url Group. If you're already planning on making an Url or already have one how can I make the group attractive for you to join. If you don't like the Url race, gucci, all the more power to you, but that's not what this thread is about. I want to make the group accessible to players, not change the race to accommodate accessibility.

Maybe some sort of hunters guild? I don't know how it'd be implemented in rp but considering the Url are grand hunters, it'd be cool to have a guild dedicated to that. Maybe some non-grand hunts that aren't limited to nobility but instead limited to Url's? Just an idea. It'd be cool to have proper hunting rp outside of noble rp.

I don't know how it'd be implemented in rp
Ever been to /tp RegalianCampgrounds? There's a hunting trail there which has an instruction book as well as flavor text to guide you through the trail. So that could easily be implemented the same way, would just need a trail made on the new V5 map.

I've always been one to play dexterous characters as opposed to bulky bois but if I were to ever play an Url this suggestion interests me as well as the honor duels mentioned above but ultimately I find with any group that "side quests" make for great RP. No matter the type of group, if there is a mentor or leader giving out tasks or missions to complete the vast majority of the population finds interest. It gives the person something to work towards which can also allow them to prove themselves to the mentor/leader but ultimately puts them in the spotlight for a short time upon completion. It gives a little sense of accomplishment and allows those who aren't exactly the best at creating RP something to go out and do so they aren't stuck simply chatting 24/7.

I play that one deer-looking url who was once a throw-away jester character I'd made just for the laughs at an event by the Golden Willow; Stabbed in the gut by the murderous Hengest Harhold.

I do indeed feel like he's a plus one in almost every circumstance, and at the best the comic relief Jar-Jar Binks of the group, so I think a group of urls is just what he'd need to fit in somewhat.

Although, I must say I'm not at all near fully competent in playing urls; It'd be nice to see how others play them-- as I wasn't sure as to how specificly they're meant to be played-- Considering he's not necessairly a violent character by nature, and I know to some extent that's pushed aside due to the qualities forced with being an url, just-- uncertain to the extent!

Thanks for this.. :)

As an Url player, I love the race. I keep constantly thinking of new character ideas for Urls but don't want to make them since already have an Url and all. However, I think making an Url family/community thing and then trying to go for status as a Noble house/Gang in its own right would be interesting. Rather than creating a separate style of rp separate to the current ones or still being just a +1, being an actual part of that structure and participating as a united racial group.

Problem:
I think I and many players look for an objective and a community to play our quest with. Often I and other players create a character and then we are in a void, totally isolated from other characters and all we do is general chit chat in the tavern until we get bored. I'd say it is a problem of the player for not overcoming the problem if it were not because the problem is so prevalent and affects the server.

Solution:
A network like the one that you created for the viridian order might help but what really drive characters is not only a common story also but also unfulfilled needs and desires (gaining recognition, revenge, love, subservience, loyalty, forgiveness) and what drives a stories are the obstacles to satisfy those desires.

So, I'd suggest creating a quick brainstorm with existing or concept url characters and then tying them together with relationships and unfulfilled desires.

Instead of having separate stories players could have something like this:
Verlheim muclegod Url that does not recognize the worth of a weak scholar Url. This Velheim Url dates an Url of Cielothar origin that does not respect his deeds gained with violence. The Cielothar Url and the scholar Url also have a history together as they used to date until the Scholar became an Ulr. Trying to regain love the scholar forcefully converted the cielothar. The scholar is still trying to gain love while the cielothar is obviously pissed off.

Then when players connect they have a clear goal and don't waste time chit chatting in the tavern.
