Hello everyone I am Uaronain but my friends simply refer to me as Uar. I am new to massivecraft but not as green when it comes to minecraft in general. My favorite aspect of the game is building structures that fit specific themes. The great thing about minecratf is that it is a giant sandbox game and it really is what you make it to be for yourself. And for me it is a lot like Simcity meets DayZ. I know that may seem odd but I like to make villages and towns and give them history, lore and life strictly in survival mode without walls that tower so high as to reach the clouds. I do not think that every village and rustic hamlet would be encased in a giant and mostly ugly 80 block tall cobble wall.
The images you see below are from a minecraft realms server my friend runs and everything you see I built myself, in survival and it took about a month. Now Solace is not finished but it is my first project where I cut my teeth and developed my own style. You will notice that it has no walls. It has a man made stream that surrounds most of it with giant oak trees on both sides that smack more of a tree grove than the great wall of China. It has small bridges that allows people to cross it to get to other parts of the settlement such as the Tomb of the local hero "The Lion of Solace", the shrine to the local goddess "The Desert Rose" and another bridge that leads to the south part of the village with the docks, warehouses and the industrial and commercial part of the village.
There is a stables, Inn, Smithy, Library with built in greenhouse, many smaller homes and some not so small. As well as a large town hall structure, fountain, warehouses for trade and industry that are lore specif to the village and links to other villages made by friends.
Solace was built in a desert so I wanted to make great use of sandstone in most of the buildings as well as wood. (Oak and Spruce) The location of the site was where I found a small NPC village that had 2 small huts, a librarian house and a small field. From there I built Solace.
Lore wise the Rose and Lion are symbolic to the village so many of the decorations are of those. Giant Lion statues greet you when you enter the village from the north and smaller sitting Lion statues are used in the Tombs.
Conversion of cobblebox like buildings that houses a large redstone autosmelter into a factory like structure
You can see more pictures of Solace here it is a link to my imgur album called Solace.
