FROM THE DESK OF THE DUKE-REGENT OF CALEMBERG
A PROCLAMATION
The following is a Treatise on the current state of the Government and Empire Crisis, penned by Duke-Regent Elros Typhonus. It is sent ahead of the Diet this evening, at the Assembly Hall, at Midnight Regalian Reckoning (London Time), which the Duke-Regent is unable to attend due to attending to the recent crisis in Groswald. Other members of House Typhonus will however, be in attendance.
Tonight, a Diet shall be held that will have a great impact in determining the future of this Empire. Houses Harhold, Avalonr, Fristadvlom and von Drachenburg have called for the Diet, but representatives from each noble House will surely be sent forth to have a say in the judgement of Amelina Peirgarten by the Peerage. Within 5 short weeks, the Empire is expected to default and the value of the Regal sent plummeting, unless the State makes considerable changes and executive decisions to course correct. This so far has been responded to with middling results from the Chancellor, whose diplomatic decisions have caused 30% of the Archipelago's population is in open revolt. Another 20% refuses to acknowledge the Government as is. Armies are moving, and the Empire seems to be fraught.
In all this mess, The Chancellor seems to be struggling to maintain honor at this crucial juncture. According to the most recent news reports, the Viduggla Secretaries votes that secured her position seemed to have been done as a clear "deal"with three innocent Mercenaries being targeted by the Chancellor herself that had wronged the Viduggla Secretaries. She caters to House Viduggla, who caters back by swinging their vote with seemingly little concern for the Empire. They did not vote against Amelina, and in return, 3 innocents that had wronged Viduggla were punished. The pandering on both sides, on this at least, seems obvious.
Therefore, while House Typhonus takes no particular stance on Amelina Peirgarten and her performance going into the Diet, it has become clear she has multiple mistakes, dishonorable deals, and questionable executive choices to answer for. The Realm will be watching her reaction, as well as the civility and competence of those questioning her. The Duke-Regent however, encourages those who most harshly criticise the current Chancellor to come with solutions of their own. If the Chancellor is humble enough to realize the mess she has got us in, she will accept the well informed and well reasoned counsel of the Peerage, so that we may move toward a less disasterous New Year.

Glory to the Empire.
