Traits Or Races?

Traits or Races?

My loadout is usualy ( Healalways, axeexpert, slow, hast ) The slowness makes me feel like I have shorter legs, its actually just the right amount of slow so its nice, hast for digging faster cause... dwarf and healalways cause I like to think my character is tough, and instaed of dying from hunger he just gets hunger pains, Can't swim well with hunger pains eather so its cool. But yeah, It would be nice to be bound to the character a little more, and ofcourse the biggest thing would be to be able to tell what race someone is with /seen I am a premium player and I find this annoying that not everyone has a race picked.

Well, traits seem like an individual way of designing your character for pvp. But thats not totally true. Every game that is competitive will have a specific meta. There is always a strategy which is better than the others, even if it is barely noticeable people won't give up on this advantage... don't forget competitive isn't just picking your favorite way, it is using a pattern which has been established.
You will see this phenomena in every game which is played competitively(even if it is not intend to be competitive).
Pokemon has an OU list. In LoL there are Champions more used than others. Magic or Yugioh will have the same 5 decks in the meta for certain period of time. And so on...
You see, balancing is not only a Problem which Massivetraits has. But i have to admit, that Massivetrait is not doing good with having to less PvP traits. There are like 15 Traits which are mostly used in pvp(I would say) and there are 10 slots for premiums available. This forces everyone to have a similar trait built.

It is ironic but giving people more freedom make them actually less free. Our massive meta right now seems like a: full tank max axe damage class. Which is pretty op in itself. There is no game where tanks do freaking op damage... Massivetraits need some nerfes and some buffs.

But thats just me...

Weren't the primary PvP races Dwarf (for axes), Vampire (for something I can't remember), and Undead (for resistance)? And anyone who wen with human, elf, yanar, maiar, ext was pretty much screwed in PvP? Because that's what I remember. I've never had an undead character, but my race was undead because it gave me that extra resistance so I could get the hell outta there before dying.

Dont say a single thing about Maiar. Maiar, if used correctly could wreck.

-Maiar leaves water- -Maiar starts to starve- -Maiar can no longer run- -Maiar dies horribly- -Qadir laughs manically-
-Maiar doesn't leave water without properly preparing itself to survive on land.-
-Maiar starts to starve and teleports to Regalia spawn to get some water.-
-Maiar can no longer run, and decides to find a source of water before they continue.-
-Maiar finds a safe spot to die in so that they can retrieve their materials when they get back.-
-Quadir stops laughing.-

-Maiars don't mind because they aren't meant to be an offensive land race in the first place.-
It's impossible for you to fight them in their domain, and it's impossible for them to fight you on your domain. Basically, whoever loses patience first also loses their life.

Fair enough, I misspoke there. You use bugged traits even though you claim that they break PvP. If traits are so broken you should stop using them until they are repaired.
And then those using them would have a severe advantage over those not using them, because there is no chance every PvPer on the server is going to decide to stop using traits as long as they are still available.

I prefer traits much more. It kind of makes sense to die after being shot twice by an arrow, realistically anyway. I'm not a big PvPer so I don't exactly understand why all of you are so annoyed with the new system, but that's okay I guess. I think traits add to RolePlay and stuff, I always thought that was nice.

Actually this is what i call balance... So where is the problem?
Having home advantage actually does make sense...

The problem comes from most of the cool stuff being on land. It's easy to get jealous of structures like castles and fortresses when all you have is dirt and sand.
Of course that problem could have gone away over time with the implementation of Hadar, but patience tends to transform into annoyance as time goes on.

That would be a hilarious showdown. "Oi, get in the water damnit!" "No, come on land!" No!" "No!" Then of course some pesky naga come and kill them both xD

So basically what you're saying is that the PvP community can't work together even if it benefits the entire community? Because it seems kinda simple to me: All PvPers boycott people using certain traits, those people get bored and stop using the boycotted traits, thus, PvP self-balances. Is it seriously impossible for that to happen?

You *could* make an underwater castle/city ext and make it having sunk down there. Or just make your castle in a swamp/semi-submerged area as if the ground sank. But yeah, I can see how it would get annoying.

It's kinda hard to cancel an entire raid just because one person shows up...

Both sides could literally just back off once word reaches them that such a player has arrived. Raids have been called off before, its not that hard. Between ally chat, global chat, /msgs, faction chat... all it takes is "everyone stop, soandso is here with forbidden traits!"

Honestly Mech, i think you are a bit to optimistic their.
If you make you own trait-"tier" you would just split the community instead of making a big one. The people acknowledging your tier would complain about people who does not.
An example would be smogon and ninteno... If you do want others to follow rules you have to do so too, but you can't punish people that don't follow these rules. They have all rights no to do so.
Also... who would organize this? who is experienced enough to reform a meta?

@Dannywolf05 are you disagreeing that Maiar cant do anything if used correctly? Hmm? ;)
I'm disagreeing because there isn't a way to wreck with maiar in land PvP. At least if the land isn't by water. A beach fight, sure. But anywhere else (plains, forest, desert, etc. ) just isn't worth the effort.
Although it might be possible if it rained, that only applies to open areas still. Its a circumstantial fight.

Right, i agree the most part but i don't quite get this point "dbfdbsfuu".

"dbfdbsfuu" is a variety of word in asdfgian. Sadly, no confirmed translations exist, but most agree it was a description of complete exasperation or rage, most likely a combination of the two. A primitive picture, shown below, is how the general meaning of the word was found out:

Exactly but why would a miar be involved on a land battle, they would attack a faction that would be a dock faction that does trades or someting of sorts or players that are attempting to visit their city.

I find allot of battles are fought for nothing.

Like I said, whoever loses their patience first also forfeits the battle. In theory, all you would have to do to make Maiar's OP is find out what makes your enemies tick.

Fair Enough, but the race is still very good for support.

I liked the original idea for traits, where there were categories. Star sign things, physical and mental attributes. And vampirism would be fun with traits. A special trait grouping used permanently until cure. Which could also be used for like. The bunch of new vampire types, or completely different diseases and conditions. o3o
