    Visual Information (Required)
    • Eye Colour: Yellow-grey irises and grey sclera of an Eronidas.
    • Hair Colour: Dark blonde.
    • Hair Style: Short-to-medium length, tapered backwards and messy fringe.
    • Skin Colour: Pale.
    • Clothing: Loose-fitting garments with a northern influence.
    • Height: 6 foot 7 inches.
Face: Thorom has an oval-shaped face, the jaw notably jutting and pronounced, and ending in a rounded chin. His cheekbones aren’t particularly prominent, but attention is usually drawn to his strong browline and thick eyebrows. His nose can best be described as fairly snub and flat, and evidently broken in the past due to a slight wedge where it meets his brow. Thorom’s eyes are small and hooded, his right eyelid slightly more drooping than his left, and they betray his Eronidas heritage as he has inherited the grey sclerae and ruddy-yellow irises of his mother. Furthermore, his mouth has the slightest underbite and a small pair of tusks.
Thorom’s hair can be described as dark, muddy blonde, though the hair on his brows and body tends to be a shade darker. He wears it at a short-to-medium length, tapered at the sides & back but slightly messy on his fringe. He pairs this with a finely-cropped beard.

    Body
: Thorom stands at 6 foot 7, give or take, with the paleish skin inherited from his father but the muscular frame of a half-Eronidas. His muscles are thickly corded along his upper arms and shoulders from his strength training and combat practices, with other muscle tone visible on his upper chest and calves. He carries an average amount of fat on his body, with some fattier tissue present around his upper legs and back.

He has a fair amount of blonde body hair across his chest, belly and legs. Thorom is no stranger to risk, and his lifestyle has afforded him a myriad of faded scars and blemishes notably present beneath the hair on his chest, and some marks on his legs and arms. Thorom sports several tattoos. His arms are marked with traditional bands of geometric patterns and Old Gods runes that tell his story and ambitions. He also has an honorific tattoo of crossed axes covering his back, showing his faith towards the Old God Basjtur.

Fashion: Despite being raised in Velheim culture, his clothing isn’t wholly reminiscent of Velheim fashion as he finds the swathes of furs impractical in the Regalian climate. Thorom wears a simple grey v-neck shirt, purposely bought to be loose and easy-fitting on his bulky frame. Over this he has a sleeveless blue tunic he picked up while in Drixagh. This is complete with a hood, whalebone buttons, and fur-lining, though the colours have faded in a few places from wear & tear. He also wears a simple pair of dark trousers held up with a notched leather belt, and a practical set of hobnail boots.
Thorom has a few items of jewellery complimenting his outfit. He wears a silver rune-inscribed ring in his right earlobe, and he also has an iron armband about his left bicep wrought into the shape of a Medskala.

    Personality (Required with Choice)
    Option One: The Question List

    • How would your character express Happiness and Contentedness?
      • Those he is close to know Thorom’s reactions to happiness well, the most evident visual signs being the infectious grin and twinkle in his eyes. Despite being more restrained at times from the years of military dogma and training, he allows himself apt time for enjoyment and contentment in his life - often celebrated with plenty of Sumpbaer and song.
    • How would your character respond to experiencing Fear?
      • Among the chaos of battle, loss of kin, and facing all sorts of chaos in his life, he has become accustomed to fear and often internalises these emotions. Onlookers might see him act rather stony-faced, though his gaze often betrays a darkened, dismayed hint at his true feelings.
    • How would your character respond to experiencing Stress?
      • Thorom is no stranger to stress, his lifestyle practically beckons for it, though his Skagger training allows for meditation and reflection on stress and anger. When the cause of his stress becomes too overwhelming he has been known to forgo this, especially since the Burning of the North took its toll on the half-Eronidas.
    • How does your character view Law and Authorities?
      • Thorom respects Law, having seen the anarchy rife within countries following war as well as his experiences within Crookback. He views Law as a necessary pillar of society, though at times may bend the rules if he believes good will come of it. Furthermore his time as a soldier in various military campaigns has instilled a respect for authority, though recent developments have shifted his mindsets and preference to those who he serves, earning his respect.
    • How does your character feel about Races other than their own?
      • Thorom is quite lax about most other races, proud to have served alongside people of all backgrounds and origins in war. However he is distrusting of Qadir following the Songaskian War, believes Kathar to be disgusting creatures from the various propaganda he’s heard and the tales from his brothers-in-arms returning from the Dread War and his fear of snakes makes him uncomfortable around Slizzar Furthermore, while technically not a race, he finds it hard to adjust to the growing presence of Undead in the Archipelago given his Old Gods beliefs.
    • How does your character feel about Religion for themselves, and other faiths?
      • As a battle-blooded warrior, Thorom has pledged to Basjtur, though his faith can at times be challenged in the mixing-pot of cultures Regalia has to offer. He tries to stay in line with the Old Gods teachings, if not in an attempt to uphold his Soldi, but has experienced enough of death to respect that everyone returns to the dirt some day, so if others choose to believe in other deities, so be it.
    • How does your character feel about the Arcane and Magical in the world?
      • Magic and the Arcane quite frankly confuses Thorom, both because it’s not something he’s ever quite grasped with his racial origins and due to the tales his Eronidas mother would tell him as a child. Experiences with magic in the City of Light are beginning to change his opinions, he is becoming more curious about it, and views it as useful- at least when it's not being used against.
    • How does your character feel towards their family?
      • Thorom loves his blood relatives though has spent many years away from them, and has adopted the outlook that those who earn his respect and favour are as good as kin.
    • What is your character the most proud of about themselves?
      • His persistence. Thorom fell into a dark place after the Burning of the North, losing a lot of motivation and hope in life getting back to normal. With support from his kin and a heap of determination he has fought an uphill battle and fell on his feet in the City of Light with new employers in the Sorenvik family, and a home to call his own.
    • What motivates your character to move forward and better their life?
      • A mix of things influences this. Firstly, Thorom doesn’t want to fall into a rut again like the years following the events in Drixagh, and as such seeks out any opportunities that come his way. His faith in the Old Gods is another large factor as he wants to ensure his Soldi is strengthened so that his Sjele can enjoy Speillørgard.
    • What is your character's biggest insecurity?
      • Thorom at times worries about his abilities, and questions whether he is good enough. He held his brother Eirik in high regard and incorrectly considers himself partly responsible for his death. He doubts whether he can live up to Eirik’s prowess, and this was exacerbated with the Burning of the North as he has a form of survivor’s guilt, questioning why he lived and other more experienced Skaggers didn’t. Some may call it irrational, though it helps motivate Thorom to be better.
    • What is your character's biggest fear?
      • Thorom has long become dulled to his childhood fear of death, having seen it first-hand. The incident involving a Medskala and his brother’s death has left a long-lasting fear of snakes however, and around Slizzar he feels distinctly uncomfortable from the visual comparison.

    TBD, optional

    Life Story (Required)

    Childhood (276 AC to 286 AC) >
Born in Nordskag on the 13th June 276 AC to an Ailor father & Eronidas mother, his childhood was spent largely unsupervised due to his father’s busy role as a merchant in Kongehaug harbour, and was often left to wander with his siblings to explore the fjords and forests. His older brothers had the most authority in raising him rather than his parents, as is common in Velheim culture, and he was raised to be a Velheim with little influence of his Eronidas parentage.

    Adolescence (286 AC to 296) >
Thorom spent 6 years apprenticed to a brewer in Kongehaug, though longed for more as he idealised the Basjtur Akser and Nordskag’s soldiers. He would spar with his brothers and other teenagers and brawl often, as well as exploring the countryside when the brewer would allow it. His father acquiesced and sent him abroad to Drixagh at the age of 15 where he joined his uncle at The Crag to learn how to become a Skagger, and also took up Northern Mud Wrestling in his spare time. Thorom learned the Skjaerenek Discipline until the age of 20, and continued the art of Sølslåssing for a year after that.

Young Adulthood (296 AC to 305 AC) >
Thorom spent a year in Drixagh as hired muscle while he finished his learning at Sølsby. He then returned to Nordskag and enrolled in the Skole Militair Nordskag for three years until 300 AC. He was sent to fight in a number of conflicts- serving in the first Elven war of 302 AC, the Battle of Curag Fields, the First Songaskian War, and Hadravian War. He also remained in the Archipelago during the Bone Horror Crisis until being sent back to Nordskag to help the relief effort there.

Real Adulthood (305 AC onwards) >
Thorom longed for more freedom than the repetitive routine of hunting down Bone Horrors. He returned to Drixagh at the end of 305 AC deciding to rejoin his uncle at The Crag and help train new Skaggers. Thorom’s plan met a dead end when the Burning of the North occurred. He lost his uncle, a great many brothers/sisters-in-arms and friends, and assisted Drixagh refugees fleeing northwards from the invading Calem troops. Thorom was left with survivor’s guilt and struggled to repress his anger and frustration with the usual Skagger meditation. He returned to Nordskag a somewhat broken man and found what peace he could training army recruits and brewing ale.

Thorom later returned to Drixagh in December 307 AC upon hearing news of the rebellion, seeing it as the perfect opportunity for redemption, revenge, and an escape from his slump. He joined the rebels and fought in the coming months, eventually satisfied with the outcome and deciding to find a new purpose, whatever that might be. As of present time he serves the Sorenvik family, acting as a guard & aid to the noble house with whom he has aligned as he considers them to be an honourable example of what the Velheim should aspire to be.

Thorom was born in the summer of 276 AC to Eivind Hauksund, a Velheim Ailor of Nordskag, and his bondwife Harsam, a Polon Eronidas formerly taken as a slave. Eivind was a prominent merchant with several sons serving in Nordskag’s army, and as such, Thorom’s upbringing was heavily influenced by military presence. He was well-accepted by Eivind’s Sol-Kvinne and the other pure-Ailor children of Eivind, as Harsam had proved herself in raids alongside Thorom’s father and kin many times over.

In his teenage years, Thorom found himself over-developed in comparison to the Ailor children he had grown up with, due to his Eronidas heritage. He was apprenticed to a brewer of ales and meads for 6 years. In his spare time he would practice axeplay and brawl with his elder half-brothers, and go mountaineering when the brewer would permit it. Onlookers of his fights often compared his ferocity to that of war dogs, and so he adopted the middle name of ‘Krigshund’. In the late summer of 291 AC Thorom performed the Rite of Basjtur, brawling against three members of Nordskag’s Spydenhed in one of Kongehaug’s fighting pits. For this he named Basjtur his patron god, and had his first tattoo applied to his back to signify his worship.

While his older brothers took roles in the Tvangruppe, his father decided in 291 AC would best be sent to Drixagh and join his uncle at the School of Skaggers. Thorom then spent four years honing his skills in the Skjaerenek Discipline until the age of 20. Thorom showed proficiency with his axes, and kept his metallurgic skills up by repairing & shaping weapons when not busy with rigorous combat drills. He also found a liking for Northern Mud Wrestling at the age of 18 and was permitted to learn Sølslåssing by his mentors. He pursued a final year of the art after leaving the School of Skaggers in 296 AC, wrestling at Sølsby’s pits and working as part-time muscle to earn coin.

Thorom later returned to Nordskag in 297 AC, eager to see his kin and enroll in military service. With financial help from his father, he enrolled in the Skole Militair Nordskag until 300 AC and learnt how to operate as a Field Commander. His brother Eirik perished in 301 AC on a hunt in the northern marshes after being ambushed by a Medskala. Although Thorom and the other hunters slaughtered the reptile, Eirik met his end in its death grip. Thorom’s mother fell ill not long after, and both she and Eirik were buried in traditional Old Gods fashion at Kongehaug’s Helbolwen. The experience shook Thorom, but through his Skagger training he funneled his grief and anger into meditation and commissioned an arm-ring forged into the shape of a twisting Medskala with Eirik’s name in Skodje runes.

The following years saw Thorom plunged into travels and military experience, as he was sent with a number of warriors to serve in the Regalian Military. He witnessed several battles and wars, serving in the Elven War of 302 AC, Battle of Curag Fields in 303 AC, and the First Songaskian War later that year. He was also present during the Bone Horror Crisis of 304 AC, in which he was sent as military relief to aid in the defense of Nordskag’s capital, but lost many he considered friends and kin to the undead terror. The following months were spent tracking the wilderness of Nordskag to help eliminate the remaining Bone Horrors with a group of Skagger brothers-in-arms he had bonded with in his time as a levy.

Thorom grew somewhat disillusioned with his time in Nordskag due to many months of slaying Bone Horrors, and with the resurgence of Dragons in early 305 AC he returned to the Regalian Archipelago and decided to help with training new Skaggers in Drixagh. This ended poorly due to the Burning of the North in 305 AC, resulting in thousands of his previous comrades dead. Thorom cut through swathes of Calem troops with a handful of refugees and Skaggers, routing northwards towards Norrland for safety. However, his uncle and many brothers-in-arms were lost. This greatly affected Thorom, and his ability to repress his anger and emotions through meditation was challenged, a previously simple feat conditioned into him by the Skagger training.

Thorom returned to Nordskag to train recruits for the Spydenhed and Tvangruppe for a few years, largely removed from events like the Second Elven War, Dragon Crisis out of his anger and frustration towards the slaughter in Drixagh. He returned to the Archipelago in early 308 AC after hearing the news of rebellion in the north and joined former Skagger comrades in their efforts for resolution. His attempts at retribution for the loss of the Skagger schools were satisfied by the rebellion, and Thorom decided to find a new purpose in the City of Light where his skills may be appreciated.

@Zeromir Please make the following edits and tag me once complete:
    • Neither school is a point-buy school, so they would be purely backstory without a direct proficiency cost
    • Your life story has a reference to 207 AC, guessing you mean 307
    • Half-Eronidas receive the same proficiencies as full so I believe his physical stat cap would be 60
