In the spirit of the Heron of Young Boys, Lucas the Charming, House du Brierust sees it fit to invite any and all who pen in a letter for a night of revelry dedicated to him. This event will occur on Friday, February 14, at 7 PM EST, at the Hostesse Imperial Progress Ballroom (/tp nobleevent).

Being that this is an event to honor a Heron, it will be opened with words from the High Pontiff of the Church of the Holy Divine, Julius Peirgarten, to bless the assembly. A few odd rules are also to be followed in the spirit of the Heron, which will be as follows:

[IMG] Any male who is unmarried may name a ‘date’ to the soiree. Pending the approval of the heads of both Houses, if applicable, this date will owe her first and last dances of the night to the male who asked her. She is not otherwise bound to her date, though whispers may follow if she does not attend to him at least a bit during other parts of the night.

[IMG] If the male is courting or betrothed, he must ask this woman as his date if he is to have a date at all. Asking any other woman would open the couple up to whispers of infidelity, or otherwise begin scandal.

[IMG] Any married man is assumed to be bringing his wife as his ‘date’, though he may formalize this with a letter if he wishes.
[IMG] Any ‘date’ must be submitted two days before the beginning of the event, being February 12 at 7 pm EST, to allow for the patriarch or matriarch of each family to approve or deny any requests for their family members.

[IMG] This should be done by stating on the thread, ‘Male asks female to be his date’, with the relevant people tagged. If you’d like to keep it secret until the event for that sweet sweet air of mystery, pen a short, quick letter to the Margravine Milena du Brierust, who will double-check with the house heads in question. This letter only needs to state your name and the name of your date, for nobility.
[IMG] Only males can nominate dates. The exception to this is if there is a same-sex union, in which either man or woman can declare their significant other as their date.

[IMG] The scandal element is the same: if this coupling is courting or betrothed, failing to name them as a date will invite the same whispers.
[IMG] Given the religious nature of this event and the thought that the Church is welcoming to all, commoners will be accepted on a write-in basis. Letters should be submitted to the Margravine Milena du Brierust, detailing who a commoner is and why they’d like to come. This letter is mostly a formality, though the hostess reserves the right to deny any applicant for any reason. Letters are due by February 12 at 7 pm EST to allow processing and list-making.

[IMG] Please include the name of a ‘date’ in the letter, if applicable. The names given in letters will be given to the Violet Order for event security. The same rules of betrothal, courtship, marriage, same-sex unions, and regular unions still apply, even for commoners. These letters can be sent via forum PM or on the thread; there is no preference.

This is not a masquerade, therefore no masks will be allowed. Please dress in a manner in accordance with the values of high society. Awards of jewelry and liquor will be given to the best dressed and the second-best dressed couples of the night.

Nobility and aristocracy of the following houses need not write in for allowance into the soiree, only indicate their dates in one way or another, in accordance with the above. Men and women without dates are fully welcome to come, though it is fully encouraged to find one if able.

OOC TLDR: There's a ball where you can ask your pal, your gal, or your significant other to enjoy a fun night with you at the Hostesse Ballroom at 7PM EST on Valentine's Day. This event is open to anyone who applies and the nobility above!

Note: If you're writing a letter, it should go something like this. I'm not looking for a novel!

    Margravine,
Hi, my name is so-and-so and I want to come to this event. I'm bringing so-and-so as my date. I'm not a criminal.

    Thanks,

    So-and-so

Let me know if you have any questions!
