So this afternoon i was surfing the Dynmap when a line caught my eye. Not just a usual line, which would suggest a road or bridge. This was a gaudy lengthy line, which sliced the landscape of Fenderfell. I assumed this was a dynmap loading issue, so I zoomed in to find a horrific sight. So naturally, I came to the forums to share the horror with you great folks!

This is what I saw on the Dynmap..... such a waste on a beautiful landscape such as Fenderfell's

Me and a faithful faction member traveled for about 30 minutes to reach this bridge, where we took several pictures, here they are now!

Now for my argument!
*This bridge is not lore compliant, not only would medieval peoples be able to build a bridge that high and long with limited support ON SAND, but we wouldn't even be able to!
*This bridge passes close by many factions which I'm sure would not like having a god-aweful thing hovering above their heads.
*The bridge causes lag, as when we approached the bridge, we both nearly lagged out, as its just too hard to load something that big and... well, stupid!

I must take a stand and say that this bridge must be removed, as it effects too many aspects of gameplay, and is just plain illogical! I want to know what the rest of Massive thinks before I march to Eldak and demand its removal.

**As to how I know Eldak made it, look at the dynmap, it leads right from their island. I also walked the bridge into their "City" to see that they did indeed, intend for the bridge to exist.

Yeah btw to those whom built this bridge the complaint is not with your building expertise, but with the compliancy and location. its just not logical for it to exist in any world.

This is why they drive piles deeper into the ground, so don't try playing the physics cards
Thats not a physics card, its a compliancy card. They did not drive piles into the ground in medieval times, they struggled to build most things, they couldn't just raise a Massive bridge going for Tens of Miles high in the air, they would never figure out how to do it.

@Sarge_Peppers
@JakeTheNerd Have you taken a civil engineering class? Maybe you should read more and come back
I have taken multiple and various engineering classes, but that is completely irrelevant to the reason I rated you post as I did. You received that rating due to the fact that modern engineering is much more advanced than the methods structures where created with in medieval times and has little relevance to the subject as @PariahFolk explained. The issue was based on the time period rather than physics so please avoid attempting to instigate unnecessary arguments.

HOW does a bridge generate lag?
I see no logical way this bridge causes lag i think that was a coincidence with something else.

I was with my friends in Fendarfell saw the bridge and than everyone was like: Let's buy that bridge to flat it out.

This is my bridge. PariahFolk and I have had a talk, and according to him, it will probably be removed by the mods he has reported to. It is a sad day for me (very sad), as I have spent MANY hours so far on it and most of the dozens upon dozens of stacks of stone brick and glass used on it were mostly hand-gathered and cooked, all built solely my me. I can't believe the over-whleming vote against it considering I think it looks nice and has great practical value for travel, especially to forests, as wood is scarce on the mushroom islands of Eldak, and the desert next-door. To those who do not like it, I am sorry, and only had the best interests of the people of Fendarfell in mind when building it. This is a real wound to me.

I am sure most people would appreciate it if you built streets or tunnels instead. Other people have been doing this as well in southern Fendarfell around the area of Sylvan, to support travel. They look very nice and are pretty useful.

Aye, these road systems connect to a number of factions, including Brightshore, Sylvan, and IronHjall. In response to the tunnel idea, Scott says it was an original idea to build tunnels instead of a Raised bridge. I think he would find more benefit and ease of access by creating tunnels, and of course less of an angry countryside
