Knights are a class between classes whose deeds often slip under the notice of the peerage of Regalia. It is for this reason that House von Schwarzkrau wishes to recognize the knights of the city with a ball at the Imperial Progress… With a twist. To appreciate knighthood, one must appreciate the honor codes that drive each and every knight; to learn that these codes stand as an example to the common man, and provide initiative to knights to strive for the highest degree of honor possible. Word travels fast around the city of the changing of the guard of the Blessed Blade of the Glory-Seeker: Sangria. The holy relic was retrieved from the Fae Sepulchre by Parthas Ward Kopec and other Unionists. Recently, the Wards of Fae retook Sangria from the Unionist faction, fought off a group duel attempt and have stored it back in the Fae Sepulchre. With confusion surrounding the recent acquisition of Sangria as well as allegations of honor duel misconduct rising to a proposal of legislative changes, future conflict over the Unionist relic is all-but certain. In the interest of fairness to all parties, it is paramount the Regalian peerage is given the opportunity to be informed about why the two groups seek to possess the holy relic in the first place. House von Schwarzkrau invites representatives of the Wards of Fae order and the Unionist coalition consisting of Villiers-Eclaire knights and others who that sought to wield the sword to present their viewpoints for the Regalian peerage to consider in a civil debate this Friday at the Imperial Progress. Each side will have an opportunity to outline its stance, cross-examine the other side, and respond to questions and sentiments shared by the esteemed nobility. Specific etiquette: All attendees must arrive unarmed and unarmored. Physical violence is forbidden. Knights and vassal-barons may not approach nobility for dances. However, nobility may approach knights and vassal-barons for dances. Neither side of the debate shall engage in ad hominem attack, and shall address the peerage directly when arguing point and counterpoint, similar to assembly conduct. Each “side” of the debate may bring three people to the stand; but only one may address the crowd during the actual debate. Knights demonstrating poor adherence to court etiquette will be ejected from the event.
