WAR BONDS OFFER RELIEF TO GOVERNMENT

~ 12 September, 307

The Secretary of Finance, Duchess Catherine Tyrannian, has opened War Bonds to the peerage and the public to fund the efforts abroad. The Dread War has become infinitely more expensive since the Secretary of the Army, Duke Garth Viduggla, passed conscription of troops from each allied noble house: 16,000 from House Delmotte, and 8,000 from Houses Peirgarten, du Brierüst, Typhonus, and von Drachenburg, to total 48,000 soldiers drafted from these alliances in total.

These soldiers, however, are not free: they still need to be armored, given arms, fed, clothed, and paid for their services– or, in case they give the ultimate sacrifice to the Spirit, their funerals. While the Duchess Tyrannian was unwilling to give exact numbers due to incomplete information from the warfront, the Imperial Times is estimating the cost of all these extra soldiers, as well as those already serving, to total 500,000 Regals per week.

If every Noble House were to pay forty percent of income into taxes, and the public was to support the army through the Duchess's War Bonds program, perhaps the Empire can fight another day. Currently, every Aristocratic and Noble House, excepting eight of thirty-nine who will go unnamed, are supporting our Empire and furthering the work of the Spirit.

BLOODY MURDER!

~ 12 September, 307

Murder, killing, and blood spill over the streets of Regalia these weeks, painting a grisly scene of the town. A Kathar was murdered in the street in broad daylight by a broken veteran, who was hurting over the loss of his spouse in the Dread War. This case was cracked by the diligent Violet Order, who spent three hours on the scene investigating clues and leaving no stone unturned. The man was caught and arrested. While the Empire is war with the Kathar and their void-tainted brethren, it is important to note that the Spirit could have still put that one's hands to work in Its service. Instead of assaulting your local Kathar today, take it to the Violet Order to be put to work.

An unnamed Jacobin protested the Dread War and the new taxation laws in front of the Golden Willow on the 11th of September, 307 AC. He insulted the High Reverend, Manfried II, as well as the Chancellory, the Violet Order, the Imperial Family, and the work of every soldier who's given their lives to defend our Glorious Empire.

He went on further to state that despite the new tax laws being to feed, clothe, arm, and pay our soldiers abroad, they were instead intended as embezzlement by the Government with no thought given to those who it cares for. This man was given many chances to repent and recant his speech, which he refused to do. The public gathered who had seen all this occur supported an execution wholeheartedly, and so it was done.

A mage, known to the Violet Order as Baldur, murdered Donata Bionacci in cold blood at the Dressolini Cultural Festival segment of the Commons Meeting. He pressed his thumb to her forehead, at which point she began to seize uncontrollably, and then fell to the floor. An unnaturally clean cut was sliced through her throat, and the citizenry who attended, including Doctor Jocelyn von Duerr, began to investigate the scene. He is known to be attempting to make deals with the denizens of the Sewers, though his motives are unknown. The Violet Order is currently tracking him, and any information or tips would be incredibly helpful in the search.

VIOLET ORDER ARRESTS DESPRINCESS, OTHER UNDESIRABLES

~ 14 September, 307

The Desprincess, Merith Wyrmwood, was apprehended just outside of Rose Court's Neutral Zone Saturday evening. This occurred moments after two close associates of hers, namely Champion and Second-in-Command Rennyn Carannis and famed Dragon Mage Paeral Wyrmwood, were brought in from the Golden Willow after attempts to make … mac n' cheese? The two, one Vampiric and the other magical, were assisting Executive Chef of the Golden Willow, Mac, and his sous-chef, Chez, create new recipes for mac n' cheese. The winning recipe would then be able to be bought and used, or ordered from the Willow kitchens.

They were arrested while in the Willow, having entered the building just as His High Holiness Manfried II was holding a Unionist mass outside. Clearly, it ended up not to be the cheesy type of night Carannis and Wyrmwood were expecting, as they spent the night in Greygate. Carannis, being a Kathar Crimson Witch, and Wyrmwood, being a Mage, were both unable to be cured of their unfortunate afflictions (though Carannis was barred from using his sinful Vampiric abilities for three days) and were held, documented, punished, and then released.

Merith Wyrmwood, however, was brought in with the help of a Sihndar, Akasha, who simply stated it was her duty to protect the City from magical aberrancies. She stalled the Desprincess enough for the Guard to arrive, where then Commander Leufred du Brierüst and Captain Eleonora du Kirsch of the Greywitches restrained her.

Akasha was brought into the Greywitch Chapter, and said, "It is with great pleasure that I have decided to associate myself with the Greywitches. Their drive to quell the dark threats that would threaten this city has proven to be a strong one. With the capture of Merith I hope that the people of this city may rest easier."

During the punishment of Merith, which was to be burning via Hallowed Lanterns and a hair cutting, an unknown sniper shot across the courtyard with the intention to kill Commander Leufred du Brierüst. Captain Eleonora du Kirsch valiantly dove in front of the Commander and gave her life to save his, taking the arrow through the head.

Sveinsina looked at the paper before Shrugging it off. "They didn't include my guide to flowers, what a shame. But, I do think that I must write to Madame du Brierust." She said outloud, to no one in particular, before going off to write a letter!

Sivna Sinalah Read through the paper with a nod going to sign up for the paper. Good supportive friend boi

Chuckled along with others as she read over the paper peering over to Rennyn and Paeral. "Funny that they had to wait until you made mac and cheese in the willow to get you. Mac and Cheese.." The Vampire let out another loud cackle, running her clawed fingers over the paper in amusement.

Tapped an index finger on his bearded chin, "Hm, I wonder who didn't pay their taxes.. Rather disappointed that they didn't name the families." Fudail then placed the paper down, going to continue on with his day. Later penning a letter for a subscription. @canaaa

Rennyn looked over the paper.. Only for his eyes to linger on his last name. "Caranis.. It's CARANIS, not Carannis! ONE N, ONE!" he snapped out, a scowl taking hold on his expression, though it soon tugged up into a cheeky smirk. "I did make the papers though.~"

"You jest, Merith, but truly they could have waited. My mac and cheese was comming along quite nicely, as Rennyn can attest to." he responds to the Vampire desprincess with a quiet snicker. "Though, I do say. 'Famed Dragon Mage', perhaps I should go on those jobs more often if it gets me such praise."

Freya was cozily bundled up in blankets in her living room, enjoying a warm cup of mint tea while she read the paper. Her interest in the pages rose the further she read- Only for her to all but choke on the warm beverage she'd been drinking towards the end. "Someone did WHAT NOW?- Why- Why would they try to sHOOT HIM-."

Meanwhile, in the distance, Tiray emitted an exhasperatedly disappointed sigh at the Crimson Witch named Rennyn's endeavors to make Mac and Cheese. "Ren— What thE FU—."
