OOC Info: With the release of the new Dwarf Lore, comes a progression from Ellador based upon said new lore. This should be taken as an inclusion to the Storyweb progressions, and a set up for roleplay to be had in-game for the dwarves, which has recently seen a slight uptick, but hopefully will receive more attention with the inclusion of some rather direct orders, and a new type of dwarf entirely. As noted, the Dwarf race has been rewritten and updated, which can be viewed here.
News came from Ellador of bloodshed and tumultuous changes. islands rising from the depths of the sea surrounding the continent, wars being fought and concluded within a day, and a new Empire staked in the middle of the ruins. Among all this, the Dwarven people of Ellador seemed to command the world's stage, even for a moment, for the first time in centuries. Andinn Blackhammer, a Mithorrin dwarf of some small renown, suddenly rose up to command the sole remaining Hold of Grebor. With the Dakkar finally removed from their Holds, they charged the hold of Aldruin and, while they met with very little actual Isldar forces, did manage to secure the Hold in short order, cutting down what few Ogres and Trolls that occupied the Hold. Outside of this Hold, the first to be retaken for the dwarven people in over a century, Andinn Blackhammer gave a speech, one that was written and sent out to all the Realms in hope the now scattered Dwarven people would hear his words.
Andinn Blackhammer stood at the entrance to the Aldruin hold, looking down upon the gathered dwarven soldiers. He was surrounded by a group of an odd sort of dwarf never seen on the surface of Aloria before. Six Urdweld, a haunched, jet black haired split of Dwarves, each one of them possessing valuable jewelry and a very eery glare, stood by his side. These Dwarves had seemingly come from the very mountains themselves and refused to elaborate as to where they had precisely come from. Only their wealth was immediately apparent.
"Gathered kinsman! And all who have ignored the plight of the Dwarven people, hear me now! For many years, our people have been forced away from Ellador, crushed beneath the terrors of the Dakkar, the betrayal from outsiders, and then the cruelty of the Frostlings! But today, with the help of our long-forgotten kinsman from below, we have secured victory, and regained the first of our many fallen Holds! I, Andinn Blackhammer, King of Clan Blackhammer, have been anointed as Lord of the Dwarven Kingdoms of Grebor and Aldruin! Our Forge-Brothers and Forge-Sisters of Duindin have seen fit to grant me this title in the name of Duindin, and with our Urdweld brothers supporting our cause, I shall rule not as some damnable soft ailor lord, but as a fighting Lord, who will reclaim the lost glory of our people!
But this is no damn speech made for my own titles. Our kinsman, scattered to the reaches of the world, may have long forgotten the days of our highest glory. When the many dozens of Holds within Ellador, above and below the surface, truly knew wealth and prosperity. When we exemplified the Strength of Duindin, and the Wisdom of our Elders and Kings! This future must yet be realized!
The Empire of the Regalians have traded with us in the past, using our Airships and our metallurgy advancements. But damned if we are to be merely traders, meekly serving the Ailor! We will rise up within their Empire as we forge ahead with our own reclamation! I call upon the Dwarves abroad from our home in Ellador, to band together, to seek common fortune, and to advocate for assistance in the reclamation of our homeland! Let the Frostlings have the frozen northern reaches, let the ailor hunters claim the south, but we shall reclaim each and every fallen Hold until we may truly know peace! Olormorndin, to all dwarves! Duindin!"
At the conclusion of that speech, much merriment went up throughout the Hold, and the few ailor settlements near them would be amazed at how quickly the diminished dwarven people set about repairing the Holds of Aldruin and Grebor. With many more Holds left unclaimed, and a call to all of dwarf-kind sent, the exact fate of the people seemed uncertain. But unlike the last few centuries, it maintained a glimmer of hope. If not in the lofty speeches of the new Blackhammer Lord, then in the unexpected wealth and influence the Urdweld seemed to carry out into the world.
