"The daily sound of the tower's bells would greet the morning sun in Crookback, the first merchants preparing their wares and cleaning their shops from the prior day's remains. The day unfolded with the usual meander of businesses. Slowly, but steadily, the streets would start to fill with all kinds of people; commoners, thieves, some shady nobles, little children, elders, and every other type of person who would frequent the streets. It was a usual day in Crookback for the citizens. Yet something felt different than usual, whispers were far louder this time, as more Sanguines seemed to walk through the masses, each of those stating that the Crimson Lotus will soon bloom."
The Crimson Lotus Coven was formed as the result of year-long research in regards to Sanguine-kin and the steady decline of certain bloodlines throughout the ages. Founded by the leading force of Rosalia Eisenwald and Saphielle Ylladithas, the coven hopes to stabilize endangered bloodlines and offer Sanguine-kin a place to call home, far away from the dangers of being hunted by Regalian Guards and Mercenaries.
With the newest bloodline of our sanguine kin emerging, alongside the issues plaguing our kind both on and under the streets of Regalia, it's clear that something must be done to unite our families under one banner. Surely, to stabilize the infrequent encounters between our kin and to make sure that if something of importance happens we are all ready to act, a coven needs to be made. This is the goal of the Crimson Lotus and all members who reside among our ranks. Anyone with a similar mindset will find open arms and safe refuge if they so wish to join our cause, be it Vampire or not.
The Crimson Lotus Coven has its origin in the dark forests surrounding the Calemberg-Region, home of the von Kërle Bloodline, and also home to the legends surrounding such beings. At the beginning, the coven was seemingly only a small hideout for those that used their gifts for the betterment of the region, the warriors that helped Calemberg in so many of their wars and battles. Yet, every gift is also a curse. While the group showed its power on the battlefield people became wary about what may happen if they wouldn't help the Calemberger Region or turn their backs on the region.
Throughout the early years the group grew and grew, becoming more known within Calemberg, yet, at one day the first members of the Coven vanished and weren't seen again. Upon investigating the disappearance of their men the coven found a soldier of Calemberg, Nikolas, in the depths of the forest, surrounded by what appeared to be a massacre. Sanguine of all kinds would cover the mossy floor around him, each of those poor souls slaughtered by the silver weaponry Nikolas would hold in his hands.
Against Nikolas' predictions, the coven didn't attack him straight away, no, they simply vanished, griefing and planning their revenge. Filled with anger and wrath, the coven started to kidnap the family members of Nikolas, only to continue onwards, kidnapping his friends and those close to him. Soon, he was the only one left, together with those that the Coven also harmed with their revenge. Neither side wanted to back down throughout the ages, each trying to take revenge on the actions the other side enforced. Battles became more brutal, blood was shed and finally, the first Hunter appeared.
Soon vampiric wars raged on, groups of sanguine fighting the hunters that appeared within the Calemberg Region, while others simply vanished from the sight of the fields. Yet, in the middle of the war stood a girl, covered in crimson blood. People feared her, named her the Crimson Queen, for her brutality and her merciless actions against the humans and hunters of the region.
She fought wars, won many battles, but yet, she wouldn't win throughout the ages. More and more hunters slaughtered the remaining bloodlines in the region, erasing them from the history of Calemberg, only to end the misery of so many innocent ones. The Queen, however, formed a single Coven, based on the ancient group that already lived in the Calemberg Region, naming it the Crimson Lotus Coven.
The Crimson Lotus Coven did not start strong or influential but grew into such over time as their other competitors lost their fights and spilled more blood than they could recover from. Soon, the coven became a pillar of Von Kerle society, yet, they also painted a target on their backs as they wouldn't leave the region. Family's started to hunt the Coven, trying to erase the remaining splatters of Sanguine blood from Calemberg.
The years passed by, the coven shrinking slowly, but steadily, only for the Queen to declare that the coven shall leave the region, as too much blood was already lost to the mossy soil. As such the Coven moved throughout the Regalian Empire, only to arrive in the holy city of Regalia itself, hiding in the mountainous regions.
Upon their arrival, the Queen announced that she would pass her crown to the next member of their lineage, which shall be repeated upon the end of each Queen's life. The coven understood her wish and buried her alive in the misty forests of Regalia, only to crown their new Queen. Throughout the years the Coven started to research their gifts, found new opportunities and slowly started to grow once again.
The research and the curse developed over the years, creating a proud group of sanguines and void worshippers. But one thing never changed; The Coven's love to research the bloodlines, the curse and to save their bloodlines and heritage. And such was also taught to Rosalia as she joined the Coven, allowing her to grow her influence within their own ranks and to rise to the throne herself. Now she is on the search for one thing, fresh blood and allies to aid her in their holy task.
Standing within a foggy landscape near Crookback one may find the Crimson Palace, a manor surrounded by swampy lands, yet, once a person would come closer to the actual manor the landscape would change to a lushful garden and waterways, designed to encircle the manor as a whole.
The building itself is split up into three sections; The visitor and living area, the prison section and the archives. Each section is covered by thick walls, some even enforced with metal plates to allow for more protection and stability. Most of the entrance and living area is designed to allow for get-togethers, meetings and also for the general living requirements of the covens inhabitants.
Just below the visitor areas, the main part of the manor can be found, also known as the dungeons. The dungeons are filled with prison cells, torture chambers and laboratories for the scholars to do their work in, however, around 50 percent of the area is covered in holding cells. Most of those cells are rather small and are often not even having a window, isolating any imprisoner from the outer world. Rather nothing else is known about the prison area, making this section rather suspicious towards most outsiders.
At the lowest part of the manor is the rather mysterious archive of the Coven, covering several layers with giant bookshelves, old scriptures and a lot more. Those archives are guarded by multiple defensive mechanics and traps and barely any normal person ever entered those halls. One of the main reasons for the Coven to guard the archive as strong as the prison itself is the amount of classified information sealed away down there. Many scriptures and books contain information about all kinds of magic, rituals and even some rather unknown kinds of alchemical substances.

"Lotus Ring" - This crested ring holds the seal of the coven and is used by members alongside red wax to make the signature seal of the Crimson Lotus Coven. Only members with the authority to speak on behalf of the coven hold the ring, but most of the current members hold one.
"The Blank Letter" - Found in the aftermath of a hunt, this plain letter holds a few key features. First, the paper is rather finely made, and the same is true of the envelope holding it. Normally, the letter is blank, nothing is written upon the parchment or envelope. The only thing separating this from a practical joke is the seal holding it all together. Made from the Lotus Ring, each of these letters holds a wax seal with the Crimson Lotus Coven's insignia. On unique occasions, certain names will be written upon the parchment. These are always names of the deceased that were hunted and are ONLY ever people of importance.
"Crimson Garbs - Armor" - Unique armor given to the 'warriors' of the coven (picture as reference), its design features the mesh of plate mail and hardened leather, stained with a dark red coloring that is impossible to miss. With spike-like extrusions and deep red color, it's quite obviously battle-ready armor and is proudly worn by the warriors who protect the coven with their lives.
"Crimson Garbs - Robes" - Unique robes given to other members of the coven, they serve as the unique way members choose to show their membership. Designed with mobility in mind, the robes are very light and open to movement but are not skin tight, rather, oversized. Specifically, these robes are meant to be placed over another set of armor, and feature the same deep red as the Armor of the coven, with black and gold highlights and embroidery. These are given to members who do not hold the rank of a warrior, and serve to both identify them as a coven member and obscure their features with a hood and long cloak. When one dons the cloak, they cease being an individual and serve the will of the coven. They are mostly ceremonial, and most members choose not to wear them about their day to day activities.
*You may not be a member of the Crimson Lotus Coven if you are a member of any other Organisation unless you got the approval of the leading commanders from both parties.
