Let me say this right now. Unless you are a team member or have an actual solution to this problem, do not post here. I do not want a "vampires r nice" conversation here. Thank you.

The Crimson Inquisition, it seems, is back. Now if you were not about when it was first formed, the Crimson Inquisition vs the Vampires "War" was pointless. Unless Ulu was about with his lightning strikes, the Crimson members could do NOTHING to stop the vampire. It was not a war, it was a string of ignorant, pointless conversations consisting of "vampire r perple 2 guyz. they ar a race". It wasn't even good role-play, it was just pointless.

And now someone has brought it back. Crimson flags have been seen everywhere, and already pointless forum posts have begun "Which do you support: Crimsons or Vampires".

All of this seems pointless unless this one thing is done: Allow vampires to be killed by people in Regalia. Doesn't have to be everyone, could be a select few from Alamut and 9th. If we want this to be a good "storyline" for Massive, there needs to be actual fighting done in Regalia. Enable pvp in the sewers, enable it with certain groups, I don't care. I want to hear what the Team wants to do about this. Because if it's going to be like it was last time, I'll be moving my house to the far end of the High-Elven district: Listening to these trivial arguments without being able to kill the cretins starting them is grating on my nerves.

I know this seems like I'm complaining without proposing a solution, and I am. Because I want to hear from the Team about there plans (if any) t0 make this "Crimson vs Vampires" role-play thing worthwhile.

Thing is, that would make RP harder because some dipstick always wants to go around hitting every person til he finds a vampire, makes it hard for the vampires who are actually keeping their existence secret like how they are supposed to.

Sorry that this isn't exactly a solution, more a few important points to mention along with this idea:

Well, I do agree partially that it would make things more... Interesting if Vampires were killable... It would definately require lots of warning for new players who want to become vampire but aren't aware of this.

Another small issue is that if there was a Vampire faction, and another faction went to war with them, the Vampires could be repeatedly slaughtered in Regalia, and therefore have no safe place.

Perhaps if there were some command where people could tag themselves as "Slayer" or "Hostile Vampire" then they would be allowed to battle it out. Then again, that would ensue large chaos around Regalia, with people running away from one another and it would turn Regalia into another battlefield. So, I don't know.

My fourth (and final) point is that you (as a Vampire) would be killable as soon as you respawn in Regalia, and this could very easily be abused.

Again, very sorry if this wasn't what you wanted, I just felt these things needed to be said.

I think that giving some players pvp powers in Regalia while not giving them to others would cause a lot of resentment and irritation and I am not for it.

Originally I came up with the Crimsons to stem the tide of horrible roleplaying vampires at spawn. It worked to a degree, but I noticed how aggrevated many of the crimsons became as they now became the victims of bad roleplaying vampires.

I talked to cayorion about the ability to kill them, but he stated having no interest in making a plugin like this as there were more important things to do.

Currently the crimsons are being revived because vampire bad roleplay is at an all time high again, and I think it's important that they know we're not just letting them lol about in their shitty roleplay.

Having said all of this, I think I'm going to consider turning on PVP in certain locations that vampires tend to shit around, like the altar in the cathedral, the catacoms, some parts of the underground etc.

Well, since vampires are nerfed.. loads of Crimson people will be undead or orcs... SO it goes well to rp :)
And I can get my red/black armor back! :-D

Actually the crimsons are prosecuting other races as well i hear, undead being one of them, and i presume for their darker tones and history that orcs may soon be one as well.

Orcs shouldn't get hunted. Undead are in the same boat however. The Undead existance is an abomination of nature itself so obviously they should be executed, and helped to "pass over" and die in a more permanent fashion.

Vamp PvP is over. A huge portion of the vamps that existed during the start of crimson are now some other race. I reaaly don't think that PvP is the best solution to deal with non pvpers. Just make vamp harder to tolerate. For instance, sunlight=instant death, even if your in god armor. That will definitely thin the vamp population.

turning PvP on in certain areas is a good idea, as it wouldnt be one giant battlefield, but that would make the lore more interesting along the lines. pros to combat everywhere: interesting lore and backstory for the server if added, and less n00b vAmPs cons: the players that 'lulz, i find rndom vamp, lOlWtFtRoLl', and vampire players that hide the disease get angry, and complain everywhere.

Just my 4 centz for what little it's worth:

1) Turn PVP on for the Cathedral (for the Holy Defenders to protect their light).
2) Tweak the local chat system so you can't hear things as easily in local (the fact that I, in my bank, can hear people in the town square is ridiculous) and maybe add an extra channel or two.
3) Perhaps make it possible for people to start private chat channels for specific RP, and make it possible to leave local chat.
4) Stop it with the Crimsons. They aggravate the problem by bringing vampires into the light (literally and figurativly) which causes more people to know about them and makes being a vampire something "daring" or "trollish". It was much better when vampires were nothing important.

Regarding 2 Mecharic, that is going to change probably tomorrow. We are changing the config settings.

Oh goody. I've always thought it a little funny how a whisper can barely be heard from a block away but talking in a room voices can be heard halfway across a city district.

Wouldn't it be best to keep the undead locked away?

If you kill undead and have undead body parts all over the place wouldn't the plague spread and cause more people to become undead?

Actually this raises one big question with undead that I've been trying to sort through. What makes an undead? I've seen from Ben_2025's posts that "dead is dead", but then we have the undead. Why are they not as dead as other dead things? Sorry for the off topic post.

They are infected with the plague, which I believe slowly decays your body.

I think you dislike undeads. No wonder you called me a "Demon child" xD (it was a roleplay joke)

i think this sounds like a cool idea im a vamp i think it cud be interesting and like u said only a few people but it think there shud be some way for the vamps to actually war with with ways for us to instantly infect like use our blood as poison to infect people we shoot or something cuz other wise theres not much of a legitimate war going on needs to be more spiced up

Nerf something already insanely nerfed? Good plan mate

To add, I specifically said "Unless you are a team member or have an actual solution to this problem, do not post here. I do not want a "vampires r nice" conversation here. Thank you."

And Tech, I would only want Crimson Inquisition members (that are pre-approved by Ulu or Mon) to able to fight vampires and vice-versa.

It is interesting how everyone plans to open up areas for Crimson to enter and slay Vampires, and that Vampires can't even access certain areas, but the same should kinda go for the Crimson.
I mean, I'm not saying vampurz r gr8 ermahgerd, but there are gonna be some places that are just gonna be too powerful to reach or too dangerous. Like how Crimsons can attack at the surface, why not by the Dark Altars, Vampires can attack humans {Other races too}? I mean, Crimson isn't gonna be able to have full control over every area, if they did the Dark Altar would've been locked away, blocked off, or as the derp would say blocked by a exploding cake. Crimson isn't gonna be able to go everywhere safely either, you know? A single Crimson guy walking next to a basically fountain of darkness is gonna have the power to arrest several Vamps, which doesn't seem likewise in real terms. They would fight back, possibly killing the Crimson.

Most undeads aren't dead by choice though- will there be ANY exceptions, e.g. murder victims, or people who only lived a half-life?

I think the biggest problem with keeping vampires how they are mean't to be, in secret, is the amount of people becoming them for the OP features these days, without wanting to join as being part of the RP aspect of it.
When I look at vampires in Fictional stories, I see a small portion of people in some towns, known to be suspicious, and rumors heard of dark acts in the night and people going missing.
This is not seen in massive craft, due to the popularity it has become seen as a "Accepted" thing, the only different between races is that it states officially that it's a "Curse". That's the only reason. It's just as common and seen as every races, and people don't understand the important of it seen as ''Secret", more "I'm a vampire, B*tches come try and hunt me down."
I do not believe this was the intent of the Mods.

You all talk about the Crimsons. But we should not forget that there are some other vampire slaying organisatios/factions. So I came up with an idea: What if you could tag a faction with "hates vampires" or "neutral"? I know if my idea ever comes true the tags will be changed, but what do you thing? This would help other factions that want to purify the world of the vampire's evil

I've said it before, I'll say it again - if people want race and vampire to be solely RP choices they need to remove all IG pvp features. Maiar can move fast in water, humans get more food from wheat. Orcs should be better with potatoes and digging, elves should get more saplings from trees, dwarves should get mining pluses. There should be NO pvp bonuses. Then people will chose race based more on RP then GP.

Finally, a more realistic regalia...

Keep in mind some things by Vampires, they were infected by combat, but they still were slain. Crimsons really aims just to get rid of the undead creatures entirely, from so far seen.

Naga would again be not chosen class, because the poison skin is sometimes the only reason the few people are that race, making my species rare no matter the condition.
*Sniff*

Undead are made in many ways. Usually, their death was traumatic and it didn't allow their aura to pass the Veil. There is a book in the Regalian library by Alex Kade that gives an accurate description.

You don't find many "normal" humans, either, because most people pick races like Tigran or Orc only for combat advantages. The only humans are really vampires, again, for combat.
