    What is an Empire?
It is a collection of the best of all of us. The combined strength, wisdom, and creativity of a diverse array of lands and peoples. A congregation bound in loyalty to our Emperor, and duty to our people, rising on the shoulders of our past.

In the spirit of this, the Civics Ministry is honored to invite the peerage and commonfolk of this city to:

    A Cultural Expo and Gala

On the evening of Friday, April 29th, at 7 PM (est), the Altalar Ballroom will be set to display historic and cultural artifacts, generously on loan from members of our own assembled peerage.

All noble families are encouraged to submit at least one display to the Cultural Expo. Let the glory of your house and its esteemed history shine and impress your peers, and educate the common people to your traditions. Families with deep roots in multiple cultures may submit one per culture.

Please choose displays based on a larger-arching cultural or historical importance, than personal house significance.

Accompanying your item, please include an informative description of the item, and its significance. You may also choose to include why your house feels so strongly bound to this item, or how it came to be in your possession.

Commoners in groups of five or more may submit one item if they happen to own one of significance, and will be credited for their contribution by their chosen community name. All commoner submissions are pending approval from the Civics Minister.

The event will be catered. It is a formal event. Peerage and commonfolk are welcome to attend, but must adhere to a dress-code. All garments must be appropriately modest, and suitable for high class company. No exposed skin below the collar.

No items of magical property or magical artifacts will be permitted for display. Displays will be guarded at all times.

Want to help with the event?
We are seeking a caterer. (PM to recommend your business.)
We are seeking extra security. (Join Civics Ministry Discord for details.)
We are seeking waitstaff. (Join Civics Ministry Discord for details.)

Submissions will be accepted until April 27th. On the topic of mixed culture families: if two cultures are joined by marriage into one family, consideration will be given for multiple displays. One item also means one set of items, ie, a tea set is one item.
Do not submit your item to this thread. Do not do that. I will point and laugh at you.

PM me ONLY ON THIS WEBSITE with your submission. PM's through discord WILL GET LOST.

    Family name:
(if common, this is where you place the group name your group of 5 has chosen, such as 'Velheim cultural consortium' or 'Assembled Mages of Petalcourt'.)
Brief item description: (short enough to fit on a sign ig)
Long item description: (for the long-form description, either to be put in a forum thread or an ig book. Idc how long it is but have mercy on the people who want to read and continue roleplaying without having to pause for five minutes.)
Significance: (Optional: How did your family come to own this? What personal significance does it have to the family's virtues?)
Disclaimer: (You will send this to me as a pm on this website, and not on discord. If you send it to me in the wrong place, it won't be included in the event. Type 'yes' to acknowledge.)

    OOC Info:

All noble families should submit one item. I can't legally force you, but the Civics is a state ministry, and this event only works with a diverse array of displays. Use it as a chance to show off, or to virtue signal, or just to show off your culture.

The items submitted should essentially just be a creative writing prompt. It doesn't have to be from something that you experienced ic. Submissions should be both a cultural/historical item, AND will reflect on what your house values as historically significant. It can be great-great-grandfather's axe 'elf-slayer' which carries the legend of a velheim warrior and is said to house his spirit (which implies your house values slaying elves). It can be the last chalice that the last Wirtem prince drank from before being slaughtered by skaggers (which implies your house dislikes skaggers). It can be the prized painting from your founding member, depicting a God-Emperor (implying piety). Please have fun and be creative, and use this as a chance to expand on some family lore, and how history shapes your character and their feelings!

One submission per noble house, only. If your noble house has mixed cultures joined by marriage, and deep roots within each culture, multiple displays will be accepted.

Commoners are welcome to contribute, as said above, because creative writing is fun. But if I have an influx of submissions, they'll sadly need to be culled.

Who: Nobility and commoners, but with a strict, high class dresscode and code of conduct.
What: An expo to explore items of cultural significance
When: Friday, April 29th, 7 pm EST
    Where: The Altalar Ballroom
Why: Creative writing fun. Cultural showoff. Mingle with peerage and commoners who enjoy academia. Talk about what's important to your character/house. Make connections to other cultures through understanding, and not fear! (or show up to dunk on other cultures LOL)

Rate Cuddles if you're gona submit something <3
