II - History and Information
The Black Mares are a gathered syndicate of organized crime that operated in the Regalian Slums. First founded during the years 302AC under lead of Dorian Ardelan and Iannis Ardelan, two brothers of the Ardelan family of Etosian heritage. Although the gang was too small to be considered an organization at first, and consisted only of the family members of Ardelan, their movements of mugging, stealing and robbery soon began to catch the eye of other common potential criminals who resided in the poor streets of the slums. Their hooliganism soon earned them a feared reputation. People began to think twice before wronging the Ardelan siblings, and others who have caught notice of their influence in the streets were inspired to work with them.
The numbers of the small gang began to enlarge itself gradually over the years until it could finally count as an organization of crime that domineered in the streets of the Slums of the Holy City Regalia. The family named their organization in accuracy to their family banners, however with a darker shade and tone; 'The Black Mares'. The gang began to operate with racketeering business, offering protection from threats and making coin through that way. It was a smart tactic, for the 'threat' they protected people from where in fact theirselves. Soon, the Ardelan family began to dabble into gambling and betting businesses and furthered their money expansion into their illegal moneymaking paradise, and the Ardelan family became considerably wealthy.
With the establishment of the Rat Court, the Black Mares became recognized as a great gang, one of the front organizations with influence, reputation and fame. Respected and obeyed, the members of the Black Mares ruled numerous streets of the Regalian Slums while their determined and intelligent leader, Dorian Ardelan, began his climb through the Rat Court as an Undercourtier and a well respected Gang Leader, and quickly formed a series of strong alliances, establishing himself as a permanent and strong figure of crime within the districts of the Slums.
As of current, the Black Mares operate within the Emporium district as business runners and local gangsters who partake in furthering their influence and reputation throughout the city, inflicting fear on people and earning their respect in return while offering their friendship to any and every who takes on the obligation to obey their words. Although the gang seemingly fell apart with the death of it's former leader, there are still whispers of their operations behind the curtains. As of current, the goals of the Black Mares are clad in mystery, and their method of operating is vague, however it is a fact known by all that the Black Mares' influence will only increase.
III - Gang Hierarchy
The Black Mares follow a rather simple however useful and stabilized, systematic hierarchal placement within their ranks. At the top of the Hierarchy sits the Leader of the Black Mares, followed by the Commanders of the Mares, who share the ability to call the members to arms and run operations by given orders of the Leader. Below the Commanders of the Mares sits the regular members and soldiers of the Black Mares who must obey their given orders. Although not exactly counting as members, the Mares also possess their array of informants and spies as well as distant alliances whom they may call for aid at times of need.
